This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.

While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

Marcella, if you're older that's just the reaction you can expect from your parents. They think it's okay for a xx-year-old to do such things but a older person should know better. That doesn't mean they love you less ;)

~mldgrater 29 minutes ago
MarceLLa if your older then thats just the way it is.if u've done nothing wrong to ake them hate you then y would they?if your older then they know you can handle the situation

~MarceLLa 44 minutes ago
It was very clear from what I said earlier. That is concrete proof that they love her more than they wil ever love me. Hopefully they won't coz thinking of that creeps me out.

@Marvella: Weird parents you got there

~MarceLLa 1 hour 4 minutes ago
I threw a water bottle at my sis coz she threw my mp3. Before that she hit my arm yet my parents said nothing. And when she threw the mp3 they said nothing. I cried (fake but convincing) when she threw it. But when I threw the bottle they exploded.

The end of the world

Actually, our world would end in approx. 5 Billion yrs as our sun becomes a red giant devouring our orbit as well as our "beloved" Earth.

Whether our sun would become a red giant is quite a speculative debate. You see, our sun is only a medium size star and whether a star will become a red giant or not really depends on the size and density of the star. Few starts turn into a red giant and most stars die by simply running out of steam and become black dwarfs (as they cool, they condense and become smaller as their high amount of mass draws itself in). If the sun DID turn into a red giant...you can bet that it would devour ALL of the inner planets and possibly some of the outer planets as well. Now wouldn't THAT be exciting :D"

The end of the world

"LOL, nice scenario shiroikaze.

Though, I think that humankind will destroy itself much sooner than when our sun will die. We're exausting our water and fuel resources at too quickly of a rate. When we're finally out (which I forsee to start happening in my lifetime), I forsee civil unrest and wars to begin on a global scale. Additionally, as global warming ever so slightly increases water temperatures, I think we will start to see more frequent and more powerful storms, enough change in global climate to affect crops (which affects both food and livestock), and droughts in places where water WAS abundant. Eh, but no one believes the scientists...it's all a bunch of hodge-podge right?

I guess I have a pretty pessimistic outlook to the survival of mankind huh? Hmmm...well, our species do tend to be able to adapt, so maybe we just need the right pressures to urge us forward to a better age. And that's a possitive outlook :D"

Oh and by the way, where "are" u?

I'm currently living in St. Petersburg, FL, USA. Most people here listen to pop, rock, and rap. Heck, it's hard to please my music listening needs since I listen to such a wide variety of music, spanning from metal, to rock, to classical, to foreign (mostly japanese, french, german), some pop, some rap, some hip-hop, and swing. I tend to listen into the rock to metal range the most, and those tend to be the only cd's I buy."

"Wow, so many nationalities. Anime seems to bring all the cultures together :D

Well, I'm from the USA but my dad's side of the family is Italian. So, in a way, I feel like I'm sort of Italian too...except not.

Metal?!

"Hey Roderick, what are your favorite Stratovarious cd's? I've been looking to pick up one of their cd's but can't really decide on which one. I'm a huge fan of progressive and power metal, but I am ashamed to say that my own personal collection of it is quite narrow and limited. It's just hard to expand my horizons when I no longer have broadband and I don't really have many friends who like those subgenres or have much music from them. It seems thrash, death, and goth metal take the forefront on the metal scene where I am. At least I can say I've at least heard of the vast majority of the bands on your list."

abortion

3 years 1 month ago

"What pisses me off the most about the abortion issue is this recent trend over the years to confuse politics with religion. There are many different religions out there, and there are people who do not even believe in a god, yet conservative right-winged religious biggots try to give everyone the same "Christian" rules for a melting pot of cultures. Since when does America discriminate upon religion and ideas like England did in the 1700's? Wasn't America founded upon the ideals of religious freedom? Then how is it that religion is beginning to dominate politics and modern thought and legislation today?

I am Pro-CHOICE. This is not the same as pro-abortion. While I would be against my partner having an abortion for a simple mistake...the fact is that pro-lifers are creating a huge disservice to female sexual victims. Did anyone here know that more than 90% of teenage pregnancies under the age of 16 are from rape and sexual assault from FAMILY members? Making laws to ban abortion create two huge problems in these cases: 1) This angers the family member who is responsible, often leading to physical abuse and and the alienation of the victim. 2) The unborn child will have significantly higher risk of having rare and traumatic genetic diseases, greater chances for mental illness, and cause SIGNIFICANT danger to the mother for being so incredibly young. These factors often lead these helpless victims with no legal rights to seek backdoor abortions and sometimes even suicide. Good job pro-lifer's for instituting your black and white rules and laws.

Finally...this has led pharmacies to have the right to deny patients prescriptions for legitimate birth control. Do people forget that more than 60% of females on birth control are NOT on birth control to keep from being pregnant, but to reduce risks and effects of cancer, cysts, tumors, endometriosis, and irregular or complicated periods? Nearly all of my female friends are on birth control and not a single one of them are on it by choice, but by necessity. Yet, they are finding it harder and harder to obtain their medication due to abortion rights issues.

People tent to turn a blind eye to the entire issue. For all you religious people out there who think that abortion is a sin, then let the mothers pay for it from GOD'S judgement and not man's."

Worstest Anime I've ever seen.

3 years 1 month ago

"
RavenSkaari
worst anime i ever saw is a toss up between Jubei Chan and Martian Successor Nadesico

Hey now! You can't this Nadesico! It's one of my favorite animes of all time! I think what makes Nadesico so great is that it parodies itself. It's a solid early 90's anime that has a little bit of everything, though there were a couple filler "recap" episodes.

I think it's crazy just how varied anime tastes are. What one person loves, another loathes and vice versa. Who knows, I wish I could say what my "worst" anime is...wait...I just remembered....this show called "Uninhabited Planet, SURVIVE!" OMG...I saw a few episodes at a con and I didn't like it at all. There was another that I absolutely couldn't stand about a big brother having to take care of his baby brother all by himself and not able to be a normal kid...but I can't think of the name of the show to save my life. But then again, I've met people who like both of those shows :P"

Atlantis

3 years 1 month ago

"It is very possible that Atlantis existed. As the tsunami last year clearly demonstrated, entire coastal civilizations can be completely buried and lost until something digs them up again. I forget what country it was, but the huge Tsunami last year uncovered ancient ruins of a city that had been completely buried under meters upon meters of sand. The strong wave had enough of an effect to remove all that sand and uncover the ruins. There is currently a huge excavation going on in the area to uncover the ruins. So, if a civilization in asia can be completely forgotten and erased, why not a european? After all, thousands of years ago during the time that Atlantis actually was supposed to exist, Europe had stronger and more frequent earthquakes that could have caused a giant tsunami to demolish the coastal/island city.

But who knows...it's a myth...but one which archeaologists have been searching for for centuries."

Hello there

3 years 1 month ago

"Yep, as every thread in here says the same thing, I guess I'll have to be trendy too and give my introduction:

I'm new here...surprised?

With a full-time job, I don't have much time to create wallpapers often, but I love to see a site dedicated to the "artistic" approach to using scanned anime images rather than some quick and dirty rip-offs with no thought or effort behind it. I do hope to contribute some scans when I have time though."
