"Another possibility for all to consider. maybe lelouch didn't know he was going to live. charles grabbed lelouch on the neck before he died. charle's code might have latched on to him and therefore made him immortal. before you all say " he still had geass, ther's no way he could have a code!" here's another idea. when C.C. recieved her code she obtained a nasty scar over her left breast over her heart. perhaps the code is first activated when you die? C.C. recieved her code, was killed shortly thereafter, and woke up from death an immortal. that is one conclusion that could be drawn from the series of events. C.C. and lelouch might have overlooked charles' code and both thought lelouch would die. i think lelouch went there intending to die. so if lelouch realized he wasn't dead, he would have left and snuck away. people including suzaku would think his body removed by C.C. to prevent desecration. this would explain C.C.'s tears and lelouch being alive. besides, sunrise seems to not like killing their good guys above all odds. (case in point: mu la flaga, nunnaly, gilford...etc) this is one possible method for lelouch's survival. "
