My First Wall...

"For your first wall, I'd have to say that it's pretty interesting. :3 However, there are a few things that could be changed. :3First, I'd reccommend on not making the character/main focus of the wall, blurred. To me, it takes away from the wall, and it also appears as if one is trying to hide extraction problems. Which also brings about extraction... There are some parts of the original scan that are clearly visible and should be editted out. :3 Try to clean up the scan more, and not blurrify it. :3
Second, the grass is too... similar. Head on over to the Ningen site for a grass tutorial. ;3
Thirdly, it might be just me, but I'm not necessarily fond of the green background with the green grass. Perhaps you should go with something else? Or you can keep it, but try spicing it up a bit more. It's a bit plain.
Lastly, I actually do like the font you chose, however, the drop shadow isn't needed, IMO. ^___^ Feel free to change what you wish with it though.

"Ho humm, nice start, but I don't believe it's ready as yet. But you're well on your way! ^^; Here's my input: Clean the edges of the scan a bit more; there are places that are somewhat jagged and you can see the white from the original scan. :3 It'd be great if you could clean that up... Aaand, it'd be even better if you could get rid of those white circles on his outfit by covering/blending them with the blues on his clothes... Plus, some of them are cut off.Also, font placement is key. Right now, your font type doesn't quite fit the wall, and also, it's placement seems rather unorganized. o.o; Try not to seperate words so widely, and perhaps a different font would be better... I'm not really feeling the font at the moment. :3
Lastly, you have a very pretty background... but it seems a bit too plain. Try spicing it up a bit, perhaps you could place some blue stars where the more darker parts of the wall are. In this case, it seems to be three of the corners. :333

My Opinion again: I just think it's too simple, and doesn't showcase anything special. o.o Let me rephrase my "effort" thing, since you misunderstood: You may have put a lot of effort into it, (which I'm glad you are into the wallpaper and stuff ^^;) But it just doesn't show off a lot of that effort... --;; Sorry if this/previous comment hurt you, but it kind of is what I think of the wall.
However, I think if you can change some things about this wall, it'd be really good... so I support you all the way. ^^; "

"The message means that the image you used was not properly cut out of the scan you originally got it from. You can see parts of the original scan at some parts of Ritsu's outline.I'd have to agree with AP staff... try getting rid of the small white parts of the scan it's originally from... And while you're at that, maybe you can clean the scan up a little, and even out colors. If you can/know how to vector, you should vector.
It's good thus far, however, I don't think it's good enough for submission as yet. :3"

"The major problem that I noticed in your second version was the text. It's just way too plain. Try adding some effects to it (i.e. outer glow, drop shadow, etc.), in order to soften it up. I also advise staying away from using all capital letters when using a script-like font.Hmm, I like the change you made towards the brightness though. ^^; If you can make the text work, I think this wall will be a pretty cute wall. ^__^"

"Hello! ^^; This is an awesome start for a wall, however, I'm unsure if it would be accepted in it's current state. There are a couple of minorish/majorish things that I noticed...The red text doesn't match with the colors of the wall. I suggest changing the color of it. Also, making the text look a bit more fashionable using styles would come in handy. Plain text doesn't seem to fit in this case.
Secondly, your extraction is pixel-y around some parts of Chii. If you used a large scan, you should try and scale it in smaller fractions (a.k.a.: If it's a very large scan, don't scale it to a much smaller size right off the bat, in PS or whatever you may have.) And also, try and fix the outline around Chii. Some parts are dark, and some parts are very light and un-even (i.e. the top of her head).
Lastly, just for effect, I would add some kind of light shadow around/below Chii. It would give her a more dramatic appearance. Right now, it feels like she's just pasted on there.
Overall, this is really nice. ^^; But some things are a bit iffy. "

"Hmm, I'd have to agree with MTL on this one. The extraction of the smaller picture also needs to be a bit cleaner. D: Some edges are slightly blurry, while others are kind of pixel-y. Try to clean that up a bit... It would be better if you tried vectoring it. ^^;Also, as MTL stated, avoid the 'enlarging picture and lowering opacity' technique. 'Ghosting' lacks a lot of creativity. Attempt something original and fun. :3
The border around the smaller extraction proves to be very distracting as well. The flowers don't really match the whole the feel of the wall. I'd suggest getting rid of it entirely, and just try something else to bring pictures together. ;33
