You had the right idea with the first wall.. but the scribbling was the wrong effect to use.. Use another brush or grunge it or something... Your second wall's text are just too big or soemthing in a way that their positioning is all.. wrong...

no one ever said simple was bad, but it has to be done with style ^^;

Keep on trying. its hard to find the right balance. I would reccomend using the first one except fixing up the fonts and text, and simplifying the scribbles on the left. or using a less obtrusive effect. Don't give up.
