surgery anyone?

"Ooh i too had my wisdom teeth taken out..along with four other teeth..i think my bicuthsbits..whatever. (i have no more teeth left T-T) i love getting sedated... lol. i was out like the second they put the thing on me. and when i woke up...i was all groggy and didnt really get the chance to enjoy the wheelchair ride. =(...then i went home and slept some more. and then for the next few days i couldnt feel my lips. its weird. havnt gotten surgery..yet. lets just hope that doesnt happen anytime soon...

Which manga company do you like the most?

"I'd say del ray is the best. they do nice translations and they put A LOT of notes..well not a lot. but a good amount of translator notes. they are doing a great job on tsubasa and holic (and gseed). tokyo pop is pretty good too and they got some pretty good titles... bad thing is, theyre both the more expensive ones. i also like broccili..broccllii..?...ah whatever that vegetable. i dont know why, but their paper is just AWESOME. ..sorry. haha..not much of a reason to like a company. but still nice =DD

i strongly..STRONGLY dislike viz even though theyre nice and cheap. i'm unhappy with the way they translated everything in naruto. every time i pick up a volume, my eye starts twitching uncontrollably. but we cant help how they translate things. and bleach..well i just bought the japanese volumes. but they do license some nice stuff..so gotta give them props for that. its probably the only reason why i would get stuff from them. (lets just hope they dont screw up death note -crosses fingers-)"

Now I know I'm getting slightly off topic here, but do you guys think American readers are generally more inclined to stay away from manga with bad art than Japanese readers?

im american and i tend to stay away from manga with bad art. haha. but i dont know about the other people. im really big on the art cause i like looking at it than reading for story lines. that was one of the reasons why i liked manga in the first place--the art. but if i come across something that has a really good storyline (usually someone recommends it) then ill go read it or watch it. but if i can't tolerate the drawings, then i cant bring myself to go through with it. same with the story line...if the art is good but i cant tolerate the story line..cant go through with it, ill just stare at the pretty pictures. but im still the one that judges things by the cover (same with regular books, which is horrible..but cant help it). and plus, i dont feel like im missing out on anything if i havnt read it or something. i dont know how great it is, and i dont care. so its fine with me.
