After months of work, chanelqueen17 has created a gorgeous scene of Alice and Oz from Pandora Hearts, using scans that didn't even feature both characters together. Even after spending so much time on matching the details of the characters to their new looks, chanelqueen17 didn't stop there and went all out on the background too! This wallpaper definitely needs to be seen!

"You have to remember that school has started again in a lot of places, and getting back into the swing of things will take up students' time. I'm sure they'll all be back again soon."View
Why were you attracted to AP?
4 months 1 week ago
"True. When I found AP, I was already an active member at another forum and it felt like I was cheating on my original forum to poke around here. Unfortunately my other forum has been down most of the summer because of technical difficulties, so I'm trying to be more active here."

"I joined because of the gallery. Some of the images are rare finds, but also many other galleries don't have the size requirements so I ended up disappointed quite a bit. I stayed because I was inspired by other wallers and wanted to give feedback in SZ [where I usually come across as a monster with a broom up my butt sideways, but it's never an unwarranted action and if you've put in effort I'll say so and critique with a friendly attitude]. I've also grown a lot as a waller since I've been at AP. My old walls have all been erased from my computer so I could start fresh--they were standard n00b walls, an extracted image stuck on a flat canvas with a solid background color and a few brushes for decoration. I've thought about overhauling them, but I'm not sure if I want to put in the effort to vector Nao Tukiji artwork because it's so detailed and I try to be as true to the original image as I can when vectoring.I also love that I am rewarded for my hard work at walling with some paper, that I can feel like I'm helping even if my victims in SZ would rather hunt me down and kill me if they could."

Less mainstream bands?

"I love Metric. Help I'm alive is really catchy. Silversun Pickups are good, too. I'm not as fond of Panic Switch as I was with their earlier hit, the name of which escapes me [maybe Catch and Release?].Blue October has a new CD out, and we've been playing their new song Say It at the radio station where I intern. They are amazing. My roommate when I was first at college loved them because they put out a song called Calling You, which is very cutesy and romantic, but once the album Foiled came out and she heard Hate Me, she wasn't as such a fan anymore. I've stuck with them, though, and I like the darker side more than the romantic stuff.
There are a couple of songs I saw the videos for on another site in place of ads [which was a refreshing change of place]. Ra Ra Riot's song Can You Tell is sweet with a touch of creepy--essentially this guy likes this girl but is okay to ogle her sister if the girl falls for someone else. Riverboat Gamblers have a song called A Choppy, Yet Sincere Apology that is great despite it being about depression and anti-depressants. Still got a great chorus, though.
Finally there's Zox, a local band I absolutely adore. They did a rock version of Pachebel's Canon in D that is amazing. They have another song called Goodnight which my sister wants to sing in a talent show when school's back in session [it's nice there's actually music I like that's kid-friendly, even if it's not kid-intended], and my new favorite, Line in the Sand. Unless you live in New England you probably won't hear them on the radio, but that's why we have the internet, so go get educated, my friends!"

45 degree slants in anime illustrations- do they bug you?

"I don't mind them unless I meant to make a wall with the image and need to re-create what's missing. That's kind of a pain. What I really can't stand are when the character is extracted from one background on an angle and slapped on another background at the same angle--or worse, turned to be vertical but still with the missing pieces from the original image. I tend to tear apart walls like that in SZ, I won't lie."View
The Twilight series...

"That's even more depressing, Starrys, because the plot was way too shallow for a college student [I just graduated, but I read a lot of young adult novels since that's the audience I write for]. Not to mention college students barely have time to read for their classes, let alone some cheesy romance novel disguised as "better literature."She wrote another book, The Host, but after Breaking Dawn I'm completely done with her. I don't even want to know "Edward's side of the story" that was leaked and has been delayed...there's such a thing as overkill, and even J.K. Rowling should know when to say when. Harry Potter was a good series, but I am a firm believer that books should not become franchises. "

"I am one of those people who is pretty much always reading. Right now I could probably run a library out of my car, in fact, since all I do is go to the park and read. So, knowing this, my mom got me Twilight for Christmas when it was in paperback, and it was really interesting. What I liked was that Meyer actually did research since she was using a real location for the setting, and that's part of what hooked me. The thing is, it was written for teens who don't like to read [in my opinion] so that they would hopefully start to enjoy it rather than see it as a chore. Is it amazing? No. Pretty good, but not the next East of Eden.As far as the movies go, I refuse to see them. I usually hate film adaptations of my favorite books, and the mutilations I've seen lately have just about turned me off the idea completely [exception: The Golden Compass. Great book, amazing series, pretty damn good movie]. Also, I can't stand Kristen Stewart. She's a horrible actress and should only be cast in parts that require little speaking and less facial expression, since she always looks stoned. I heard she was okay in Speak, but since it's based on one of my favorite books, I'll stick to repeating others' opinions of her portrayal.
>>Iced-Wings, I agree. I don't like when suddenly everyone's got their hands on a copy of a book that's suddenly a big deal, just because they've heard about it and want to fit in. I pray nightly that no one wants to make a movie of Garth Nix's Abhorsen Trilogy, and since my goal is to be a novelist, I've sworn that I will never stoop to having my work destroyed for a camera. Blech."

The Toilet
6 months 3 days ago
"As a girl, I like the seat down, obviously...then I can't fall in. Also, I have five sisters and the only guy in the house is my stepdad, so it makes more sense to have the seat down [alas, this is logic that escapes him]. The lid, though, I always put down when I flush so the germs don't get too far from the toilet. I don't know about you, but I'd rather not have poo-germs on my toothbrush.Another interesting toilet question: Do you flush public toilets with your hand or with your foot? Not being too keen on germs, I use my foot. The last thing I want is the water to splash up on my face or something."
