After months of work, chanelqueen17 has created a gorgeous scene of Alice and Oz from Pandora Hearts, using scans that didn't even feature both characters together. Even after spending so much time on matching the details of the characters to their new looks, chanelqueen17 didn't stop there and went all out on the background too! This wallpaper definitely needs to be seen!

"Alright posting this is session zero for trismugistus to look at, if anyone else wants to comment as well go ahead.

I personally don't see anythig wrong with the wallpaper, the quality is good, the background goes well with the character, and ...everything else I wrote in that reply to trismugistus XD *i really don't feel like re-typing all of it*

Background info for those who don't know:
-This is my original character Kimiko-chan
-This was hand drawn on the computer with a mouse, don't critique the lines, they are meant to be that way, its called a style.

"The chances of you guys seeing this are probably not likely XD (this is gonna be on the 15th page afterall aye). But I think one thing that should DEFINETLY be added to AP is a reply back button! Why don't we have an easy to use system where people reply back to other people's comments? The "quote" thing doesn't work because people aren't notified when someone quote's them back, but when someone comments back they are notified (look at websites like deviantart and sheezyart, they've got an easy to use reply system where people are notified if someone replies to their comments). The reason I think this is a big deal is because I hate the fact that when I post a wallpaper and I get nice comments I can't reply back and say 'thank you' to all of them. I know there are other methods of doing so like going to the users page and thanking them but on any other website (i.e. referring back to deviantart and sheezyart) this would be considered absurd and would get very annoying on someone's userpage. That or you can quote them but it only lets you comment once (on your own? not sure about others) so you can't reply to anyone else's comments.
I understand this may be a hard feature to install and may take up more space possibly, but I also believe this feature would be really important and helpful and VERY useful."

"Yes, if your using photoshop then there is an easier way to make the lines look ALOT smoother (I just learned this a few days myself). Its by using the pen tool with paths and when you click on the path window in the bottom left corner is a button and when you click that button it fills the inside of it with whatever color you choose (the other buttons along the bottom do other things) then you just delete the path and for the most part it'll turn out pretty smooth. Unfortunatly unless you feel like going back and re-doing what you did then this may not help you ^^;..but hey it may help for your next vector (and if you don't quite understand what all I meant when I wrote this then I'll be happy to send you a link to the tutorial, just pm me since these forums don't notify me of responses *aye*)"

sorry for putting circles on it but i wanted to show you what i think they mean. The yellow circles i made are the areas that have a different quality then the rest of the image. I didnt circle every area but im sure you get the idea. For instance any of the circled areas is of less quality then the robot in the sky. quite frankly, it doesnt look like you "meant" for it to look like this because it doesnt look very good at all imo


Well I'm sorry it isn't to your liking however I'm not dumb and of course I noticed these things in the wallpaper but I guess unlike you I like how it came out, but what you circled isn't a quality factor, its an effect factor. That's what the picture looked like with the texture I made behind it and setting the picture to "Hard Light" that's just the effect that came out. It did it to the entire scan except it is more visible in certain area's in others its not because it may be too dark. But I guess its a preference thing, as the first person commented he/she liked the wall, as do I. And others like yourself who maybe think the "quality" you pointed out was a mistake on my part (when in fact it wasn't) don't like it as much. And you also wouldn't exactly know what I "meant" for in the picture now would you? I AM my biggest critic, I am an artist that is a perfectionist, I know my mistakes better then anyone else, I noticed one on this wall (that you didn't point out) that WAS a mistake on my part, except no one was grading me on that. But that's alright it's been posted on minitokyo for others to see it and I have it for myself to use. Thank you for your comments anyways, I do appreciate critique, though I don't appreciate others thinking they know what I "meant" for the picture :3."

Omnibus Collection Wallpaper

"Well for some reason this wallpaper got rejected because of "quality" again though I don't really know what they are talking about because I've seen wallpapers uploaded on here with far worse quality than this (that and I saved it at 10 quality in photoshop, pretty much nothing is lost at that number). If they are talking about some of the parts in the picture that fade out or something (well its hard to explain you'll probably see) then I left it that way on purpose, that was the effect I got and I left it that way.
Anyways, there is no way for me to fix this wallpaper anymore because I deleted the photoshop file (I always do XD maybe I should keep them from now on till I know for sure my submission stays on here..aye this happened twice already, but at least in the other one I could fix it). So I will just have to post it here and let people see it that way. Keep in mind if you do any suggestions I can't go back and fix anything, with this one that is just impossible to do. But I would appreciate comments anyways :3 Well here is the wall from, The Omnibus Collection

I as well had a hard time with ruffles as well, I would recommend referencing for those. lol, a good reference medium wouldbe chobits, there's lots of frills and ruffles in chobits lol. But anyway, I'm sure if you just work from reference, and then experiment from that reference, it might all work out. Or at least thats how it worked for me. Good luck XD


XD lol actually yah I tried that b4! Chobits iz a very VERY good reference for ruffles..i can draw them just fine when I'm looking at another picture of them..but for some reason my brain can't comprehend the *for now* without a picture..so they turn out looking like..*above picture* lol. Actually I did a lesson for our anime club (i was the art director last year) on ruffles and folds and etc. and i mainly used pictures from chobits ^^;..'cuz I couldn't do it right otherwise..*haha*..thanks for the recommendation though..I blame these evil hands of mine..lol."

lol well it isn't color itz ink, but that's why this is a in progress picture. I never inked the staff or her legs because I was too worried i'd mess it up and to me the hands just didn't look right..so I left it alone..I still like it anyways, thanks for your comment!

AWWWWsome!! The inking is really good. I love the paper that it's on. It kinda looks like it's etched into stone. kawaii!

ahahaha *blushies* thanks so much! Lol this was done in my sketchbook, I believe it's recycled paper..but w/e it is it was expensive for a sketchbook ($10 lol..our teach offered them to us so most of us got one, the paper is awesome X3).

I think the hands from what I can see of the original sketch, look perfect. The legs as well look positioned very nicely. But to even out her face I would add more ruffles to the end of her skirt, and maybe even ribbons since you have them in her hair, that is if those are ribbons But I really do love the line work with the ink. It really gives the piece overall a good feel. Hope you finish it and that it turns out great. ^_^

Edit: One more thing lol, if you do end up lengthening the dress, I would lower the edge of the boots below her knee.

I think its too late to even out her face XD..*slaps her hands for such a horrible mistake* I still have problems doing ruffles..that's another reason why i put a halt to this picture..i couldn't get the skirt to look right either ..itz one of my better attempts at ruffles too..oh and btw her boots *are* below her knee..barely visable tho..but yah those are stockings that go above her knee ^^;..

ehto I don't really have a secret lol...the inking on this came about by me actually messing up ^^; (i believe it was on the hair..I did this awhile ago..I don't exactly remember)...so I fixed it by filling it in with a bigger ink..part..lol and then it looked kinda weird so I decided to do that with the rest of the hair..and luckily it came out really cool looking..thank you for your comment! *hopes you get this the 2nd time /__\'''..*

thanks! Hmmm..well I *do* have micron pens but I don't believe I used that kind on this one...mainly 'cuz it used soo much ink @~-J@''..it was just a regular..pilot Vball grip (extra fine 05) pen. The kind you can buy at cvs..lol. I have alot of different pens though..ranging from cheap to expensive @~-J@-..anyways thanks for the comment!"

actually i did use photoshop on the first 2 to clean up some random dirt that might've been on the scanner..and I changed the lineart color up a bit (originally it was pure black now it's more redish I suppose)..but I still wanted to stay true to the fact that it is *traditional art* please be more specific next time, if it needs work somewhere I need to know where..lol. Excellent crosshatching work for shading.

The anatomy is pretty good overall too, well, the third drawing there could use a little work. I like them. Good job.

The first one is the best out of the three I'd say. I bet your dad liked it.


Thanks! The last one I did in 2004 so it's kind of old, I just posted it 'cuz alot of people seem to like this one, lol. And as far as my dad goes (/step-dad lol)..I don't know if he liked it or not..he never said anything (not even a thank you TT__TT'')..then again I did have to work that day and he opened my present while I was at work...so yah...*still at least a thank you would've been nice...*..lol but that's how he iz so I guess that's ok. He isn't much into anime..but I wanted to try something different from my normal drawings i.e. attempt to draw a dog XD (that would be our dog, lizzie..i figured he might like it at least for that..?), and the different shading style. Oh and of course my first time using only tri-colors white, black, and red! And I thought it came out really well so I did it again with the 2nd picture...lol. Anyways thanks for your comment! ^^-

How old and what was the first anime u watched?

"XD my first anime(s) were Sailormoon, Dragon Ball Z, & Tenchi Muyo..(add gundam wing in there and those 4 were the first anime's to get me hooked like crazy lol..specially gundam wing oO)..I don't exactly remember but to be on the safe side..it was when i was in 5th grade (now in 12th..)..so awhile back. I had seen some sailormoon before that in camp though..but i don't think i ever saw any on tv..i don't really know though ^^;..."

And..as far as english dubs goes...yeek i've only heard bad things of it...like brock's voice from (pokemon) doing ...Gaara? I think..or was it sasuke..i dunno but brock doing anything iz bleh..i'll give it a try..but it'll probably scare the crap outa me..or make me laugh my ass off XD."

"I'm not a lazy bum so i don't mind reading subtitles. Therefore I'm more likely to watch subbed anime. However, I do watch alot of dubbed anime..that plays on cartoon network. But if it burns my ears I refuse to (i.e. yu-gi-oh..excel saga..yeek!)...although I thought the voices for Cowboy Bebop were really well done, pretty much the best voice actors i've heard as far as dubbed goes...lol."
