That's right and I also said that.
But I refer to the fact that most of the electric music fans here don't know much about other music either. Yes we both know the mainstream but what we don't know are other 'underground' genres. I don't know what you call underground but I think it means that it's not popular and thus only heard by people who like it.
Yes then that's the same with other genres.
Take the subgenres of metal for example. Yes I know there are a lot of famous metal bands but on the other hand there a lot of electric artists too who are well-known.

Here's a list of some metal genres (sorry that this is a german list but in the short time looking for it I didn't find it on the english wikipedia.) and a lot of these genres are 'underground', too then. And you can also mix the genres like hell even with subsgenres of other genres.




For the other things I got a bit misunderstood because of my writing skills. Yes I know there are/were good mainstream artists and I like some, too.
And for that I don't like most electric music should have been the post to the topic itself.

"Well, I hope I may interrupt you guys even if I don't listen to techno. The only electric music artists I like (till now) are Daft Punk, Aphex Twin and a bit The Prodigy.

I don't like the mainstream songs either (like omnidevil), because most of them are uninteresting, unintelligent and just there to make money.

But...

While lyrics and songs are lameness, why? How many of the market's top songs are all boy bands, emo punk rockers, and crap like that? I mean, real artists don't even get real recognition anymore, but westlife, mongoose bands, get all their undeserved attention.

If you think that lyrics and songs are lame just because of that then you are just like narrowminded as the poeple you described.
There are enough genres which aren't like the (I like to call it) mainstream crap.


And I have to tell you I don't like most techno songs, too, because I think most techno songs are unintelligent and sound marble (I hope this is the right word) because you don't have have a real connection to the artist through the music. Right, I don't know most artists, only the more known ones, so I can say nothing about those I don't know.

Omnidevil not only do you have good taste in walls but seems music as well.

Well, people have different tastes so I think you can't say "you've got a good taste in music."

So, I said all that I wanted to say and now you can hate me if you want^^."

"Sooo, with the new album "10000 days" coming out I felt like doing a little thread about tool. If you don't know about which band I'm talking about you can read about it on wikipedia .

So what I wanted to know from you guys is (if you know tool):
- What do generally think about their music?
- If you like tool, what's your favorite album and why?
- If you like tool, were you looking forward to their new album?

Of course you can also post if you don't know tool or if you want to say something other about tool.


So then I think I'm supposed to start^^.

I like their music because it's interesting and diverse. Despite that I'm not a real fan of them but it's nice to listen to them sometime again.
My favorite album is Ænema because it has some really great songs like Ænema, Eulogy and Forty Six & 2.
I already listened a bit to the new album but I'm a bit disappointed maybe they got a bit too silent for me.


So, I'm looking forward to read your comments and I hope we'll have a bit discussion here :)"

most hated subject......in school

"I like pretty much all of my subjects except WISO (economy and social studies). And I that obviously is like that because it's the only subject where it's hard for me to get a 2 ( = B).
We wrote the last WISO test last week and I really hope I get a 2. Then I would have no 3 in my certificate.

Well, I'm pretty good because it's a school where I learn the things I like (all things around the computer).


And yes I do secretly laugh at you because I don't have history, physics, chemistry and all the other crap subjects. ^^ j/k"

Do you guys think graphics will become perfected?

"Yeah graphics will get better and better. But with more and more time spent on mapping / moddeling / etc. because you need more details devs will get more and more away from doing great gameplay like already mentioned.

And that's a problem. It's already getting worse.
I mean Q4 was a MP flop, while Q1 - Q3 had nice gameplay in MP.
Most CS players don't play CSS cause they don't like the gameplay.
FEAR was a MP flop.
And as some people think ut2k7 will also get a flop.

Most FPS games coming out nowadays aren't played long anymore. Most people still play games that are some years old. But yes there are good games and there will be good games, but it seems they will get less.

I myself am waiting for RTCWII (if it ever will come out. there's a xbox (i think) game beeing developed and ported to pc but I don't know about this) and hope it will get nice. ET was cool so I hope RTCW2 will get cool too."

"I like going to concerts with my friends, but I often don't have the money, you know, I'm a student. I love the atmosphere and that there are people arround me who have the same or a similar taste in music as me.

But I don't go to clubs. I dislike the music in most clubs."

I think it's just a matter of time till we have our break-through. Yeah there are some competions here and there but overall 'e-sports' is only taken seriously by a minority in the US / Europe.
But in my opinion when the break-through comes the change will go fast.

"I download. I want a neat quality and maybe want to watch the series again or give it to friends. I've got no problems with waiting times. I can download most animes at my fullspeed (240KB/s) and the avarage size is let's say 180 MB so I can download 2 episodes while watching one.
And you can also watch while you download (stream) if using VLC player."
