Watch out for the left hand, one of those gap looks unnatural. the other thing is the tonal value, unless you are going to finalize it on computer, you have to fix the details.

i think i see what you mean about the left hand. are you talking about the index finger and thumb in particular? because my lack of drawing experience has left me to fend for myself in learning how to draw hands... so it takes me a while to get a hand to look right. i'm really lost when it comes to the anatomy of hands, so how do you suggest i fix it?
as for the tonal values, i'll be vectoring the lineart and colouring it on photoshop, so the details will all be fixed up then. thanks for the critique tho!

well anyways, i'm too impatient to wait for a reply to my last post, so i went along and tried to fix up the left hand myself.
i decided to just stare at my hand for a while until i could come up with something that looked right... so here's the result! i redrew it in photoshop, so that's why it's all nice and clean(ish) in comparison to the rest of the pic.
i think it looks better, do you?

i was too lazy to try and resize their heads on paper and risk messing up the picture, so i decided to do it in photoshop (good ol' photoshop). i think it's looking a lot better now too!

I like it, but i'm not so sure about the proportions. is Ed too big in relation to Al? is there anything else that might be wrong with it? i want to get it perfect before i start to colour it.

oh and let me know what you like about it too. getting too many criticisms might give me a complex >_<

"Yay! my tv show thread inspired you :).
as for games from my childhood, i'd have to name the old school NES games such as super mario bros (1, 2 and 3), little nemo (no, not the fish), teenage mutant ninja turtles, dr. mario, skate or die (that game was hilarious!), some other sports game (i don't remember the name), yoshi cookie... that's all i can think of from the NES. but from the SNES, there was mortal kombat, street fighter, mario paint, more super mario bro games, kirby and a whole bunch of other ones.

aw.. all this reminiscing makes me want to dust off my old game consoles and play em!"

FMA anime vs. manga

"I've only read the first volume of the manga and seen only the first half of the anime series. but from what i've seen so far, i prefer the anime. it could be because i've been sick of reading since my last term of school.. but it may also be because the anime can convey so much more of the series, such as the characters emotions and actions. it's really hard to create the same feelings in a manga (animated things make a big difference).

very nice colouring by the way. i'm still trying to work on my colouring skills (or lack thereof). and i know where you're coming from when you were talking about losing your file after photoshop crashing. i've lost so much of my art when my computer died (it's died multiple times - making me reinstall windows and junk - grr.. *shakes fist at computer*). technology is seriously against me. but enough of my conspiracy theories. your colouring is great, and i really like the wings, so be happy with them!
