After months of work, chanelqueen17 has created a gorgeous scene of Alice and Oz from Pandora Hearts, using scans that didn't even feature both characters together. Even after spending so much time on matching the details of the characters to their new looks, chanelqueen17 didn't stop there and went all out on the background too! This wallpaper definitely needs to be seen!

The Melty Blood Series
9 months 3 weeks ago
"Melty Blood is a game that has passed through a lot of tweaks.First the really stupid and pointless system of the original MB, which allowed anyone to make infinite combos in the easiest and most retarded way. The ideas were nice, but no restriction in combos and the overall low speed of the game could make anyone sleep when wanting to play it seriously.
ReACT is what the original should have been and never was. A more restricted and refined combo system, more characters to play with (including Satsuki
Act Cadenza was only an improvement over ReACT, but at least they made the game more competitive and funnier. Playable Aoko and (manly) Kohma were the best improvements in game, as well as the overall tweaks to all characters, addition of more backgrounds and new music. Oh, and also a lot of changes to the "clone" characters (Nanaya, Red Arc, Tatari Sion and etc), making them be more different.
Haven't tried the last release, and who knows if it'll get a PS2 port eventually."

what do you think about bleach?
1 year 6 months ago
"It's been only like... 1 month since I started watching it on Animax (it was one of their premiere shows during may, in the Latin American version of the channel). My first impression on the show, watching it directly from a TV and not from a fansub, was positive, since graphically it's very well polished, with well used effects and good drawings. Music is decent, I can't say I liked it (except the ending which is very beautiful, I think it's called "Life is like a Boat").While I still think the first chapter goes beyond the absurd (Ichigo breaking Rukia's spell just because "lol I'm the hero and I pwn for free"? Give me a break), the other chapters were more surprising and surely hooked me to the series. My instant favorite character was Orihime
I'm gonna keep on giving it a chance. Since they're showing 1 episode per week, I don't think I will be bothered by delays or stuff like that. Or those so mentioned filler chapters (I don't mind about fillers, as long as they're well executed)."

Rukia or Orihime
1 year 6 months ago
"Since I've just started watching Bleach in Animax, I've seen very few of both girls. But so far, I can say I prefer Orihime. At least (and from what other people said, I'm right) she has a lot of potential to develop during the series, and her cheerful and innocent personality makes her very likeable (at least for me :3 ). Rukia is just too cold and rough, and sometimes it seems like she has a high degree of arrogance (something that I hate about anime characters)."

Mario Kart Wii!!

"While I loved how the game is, specially since the controls are great and it returned to a more aggressive formula like the first Mario Kart games for SNES and N64, something really bothered me about this game: they used a lot of recycling.Yeah, surely the tracks they chose from Mario Kart Double Dash are probably the best from that game and they're as fun as always... but come one, why leaving them graphically identical? They changed nothing about them and that was a bit dissapointing for me. I mean, even the traps and the elements from those tracks (like the sand trap in the desert one) are totally identical, no changes or anything.
Oh well, at least the game is lotsa fun to play with other 4 friends and that's what really matters. It's not like everyone complained about Mario Kart 64's really simplistic visuals considering it was a 2nd generation N64 game. I do really need to check the online option, since everyone says it's awesome ^^
It could have been way better, but at least it's still fun."

Console or PC?
1 year 6 months ago
"I will always prefer consoles over PC for one simple reason:I don't have to worry about upgrades, like video cards or more RAM to be able to play the premiere titles. And since I honestly don't care that much about visuals, physic engines and all that stuff, not playing stuff like Crysis won't make me worry a lot.
Also, lack of variety in genres. No offense to RTS, FPS and MMORPG players but out of those genres, I rarely see something else on the PC."

The Last Blade

"Last Blade is one of the best and most artistic fighting games SNK has ever done. It doesn't only have really pleasant visuals and sound, its refined and well planned gameplay was a lot of fun and also very versatile (I personally think the Power, Speed and EX modes were the best idea), and let's not forget all the variety in its roster. I was happy when I saw Kaede, Moriya and Akari as playable characters in Neo Geo Battle Coliseum, it was such a nice tribute to those great games.Yes, I agree, they should revive the franchise with a Last Blade 3, it's THAT worth it.
By the way, I stopped caring about King of Fighters since KOF2k1. That franchise should be killed and buried already."

Konata...Otaku's most loved character
1 year 7 months ago
"Konata is... someone I wouldn't like to know in real life, to be honest. In fact, if I knew someone like, I wouldn't hesitate to hit her in the face :(Actually, I think Konata is more like a guy inside a girl's body, because it's hard for me to imagine a girl that would act like that (playing eroge games and all that). Also, she isn't really a good example to follow: irresponsible, avoids her duties everytime she can, her tastes are limited to anime, manga and videogames... ^^u She's a very boring (and highly overrated) character in my opinion and a very forced stereotype that, most of the times, you can't even believe.
I can believe girls like Kagami, Tsukasa, Miyuki or even Cousin Yui (I've known people who resemble them, honestly), but Konata... urh, meeting someone like her would be highly scary.
I must admit her design is very cute and I do really like her cute face... but out of that, no, nothing."

Whodunnit?
1 year 7 months ago
"The main responsible for that are the users. Why? Easily, because most of the hype isn't transmitted by the companies, but by users.
I still remember some years ago when Halo 2 was gonna be released and everyone was talking about it like if it was gonna change everything in videogaming and stuff. And most of that crap, I didn't read, hear or watch it from magazines or TV spots, but from the users themselves at internet forums, at college... heck, I think even some people that hadn't ever touched a videogame were asking me if I was waiting for Halo 2 (I wasn't, by the way).
And well, when game was released, some of the people I know go really dissapointed with the final result... or well, not everyone. The ones that were dissapointed were people who are more hardcore gamers, while the casual gamers I know did like it a lot.
So yeah, users themselves are the main responsible of hype. Now you can see the Capcom fanboys hyping Street Fighter IV a lot, like saying it'll become the messiah of fighting games (they said the same bullshit with Capcom Fighting Evolution, and we all know what became of it) or the KOF fanboys hyping KOF XII, saying it's the ultimate 2D fighting game (yeah, SNK itself said that, but fans exaggerated it)."

The Sega Dreamcast; was it worth buying?
1 year 7 months ago
"Dreamcast was, hands on, the BEST 128 bit console. Filled with a lot of good games and a lot of creative ideas which were very promising (luckily, some of them were used on others consoles). It's a shame it died not because of PS2 or anything like that (it was a factor, but not the most important one), but because Sega was already in a very delicate state back in that time and had to kill it ^^u
At least the Dreamcast technology wasn't completely dead. After that, you could still see that same technology used in arcades. The awesome Guilty Gear games (the X series) were all programmed on boards based on Dreamcast (Naomi and Atomiswave) as well as other games from companies like SNK."

Most Annoying Thing In A Game
1 year 11 months ago
"Playing Lumines 2 in my PSP reminded me of a really irritating and annoying detail that I hate in videogaming:In all puzzle games which feature a vs CPU mode, I totally detest how the CPU plays so flawlessly and fastly, it easily kicks the crap out of you in a matter of seconds, sending you punishments every damned 5 seconds and not letting you have a breath.
Same thing could be applied to some fighting games, where the CPU simply waits and reacts to the command inputs you make and counters you easily, and only way to beat it is to rely on repetitive routines. All people who has played Mortal Kombat games (specially Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3), Super Street Fighter II Turbo or Samurai Shodown 2 surely knows what I'm talking about."

Magic Knights Rayearth Season 1 & 2

"I think some people think the manga is better because the anime had a lot of changes which made it completely different in a lot of parts, though the anime had a much better character development, more battles, new monsters and even new spells. My first contact with the concept was the anime, and I liked it a lot because it was something totally different to the magic girls show I used to watch when I was a kid (Sailor Moon, Minki Momo and all those). I really liked how the show was way more dynamic, the girls actually fight (unlike that stupid Serena) and it even featured blood and more graphic violence, it was a total twist to what I was used to watch in the genre. Oh, and also the plot was more mature and deeper.
Years later, I could get the manga, which also rocks but also has a shorter plotline. Of course, I liked the fact that some characters didn't have the really tragic fate they had in the anime (like Presea dying :( ) and the artwork which, since it's a direct CLAMP work, looks better when we're talking about the girls, but I can tell I love both them all."

Saint Seiya
1 year 11 months ago
"Hard to tell, there are a lot.
Bronze saints: Phoenix Ikki. The most powerful of them all and he wouldn't hesitate to fight, unlike the other 4. Also, some of the best fights in the entire series featured him (Ikki vs Shaka, Ikki vs Mime, Ikki vs Kanon)
Silver saints: Lira Orphee. He owns you for free playing music! Also he has one of the saddest stories in the entire series.
Gold saints: Libra Dohko. First, I'm a Libra. Second, when I saw the Hades chapters for the first time and I saw Dohko wearing his armor and using his 100 Dragons, I was like "Finally! My Gold saint appeared and he rocks!". So yeah, I'm proud of "my" Gold Saint.
God warriors: Benestach Mime. Probably one of the most tragic characters in the entire series, specially when you get to know his past. Also his theme music is one of the most beautiful themes I've heard.
Marine generals: Sea Dragon Kanon. Just because he's like Saga, except he uses a different armor, a different technique (Golden Triangle instead of Another Dimension) and first he was all crazy. He redeemed himself in Hades, though.
Specter: Wyvern Radamanthys. He got a lot of exposure during the Hades arc, and also he featured one of the most cruel moments in the entire series (he beating Aioria, Muu and Milo). While I also liked other specters like Balrog Lune and Sphinx Pharaoh, Radamanthys imposed himself with his fights, his personality and his techniques.
I'd declare a tie between Ikki's Phoenix Burning Wings (or Houou Yoku Tensho), Dohko's 100 Dragons (or Rozan Hyaku Ryu Hah) or Saga's / Kanon's Imperial Devil Fist (or Genro Maoken).
Saint Seiya, along with Robotech, Mazinger Z and other old shows, were the ones that make me like animes.
Even after watching stuff like Dragon Ball and stuff, Saint Seiya still remained as one of my favorites, specially because, unlike most people think, the series' plot is way more complex than it looks and it's not only about "zomg I must train so I can beat the shoot out of this guy" (yeah, the same stupid cliché from Dragon Ball Z, Naruto, Bleach and all those overrated, in my very personal opinion, shows which hold almost null cultural content).
It also made me become interested in lots of mythologies in the world. I was already a lot into greek mythology when I watched it for the first time, and I was surprised to see how the author respected those myths and also ported them into his story successfully.
And Saint Seiya has one of the most beautiful soundtracks any series would like to have.
Well, I think I could only relate to Libra Dohko, and that's only because he's the Libra saint.
By the way, the fact that no one is discussing about Hades: Elysion makes me sad.

what if your country bans games??
2 years 2 months ago
"I don't have to imagine that, because that has already happened in some states of Mexico.Have any of you played Ghost Recon Advanced Warfight? I guess most of people who played it knows that the game (and its sequel, Advanced Warfight 2) takes place in 2 important Mexico cities:
-Mexico City (duh...).
-Juarez.
Well... in some parts of my country, those games were banned and you could even get an infraction if you were catched selling that game. In my case, I simply waited until the game was allowed again (which, in the end, happened without any major problems), and that's all.
So yeah, I'd just wait."

Geneon and ADV are merging.
2 years 3 months ago
"In a merging, both companies are looking foward to be able to increase their production, distribution and difussion of their products, also trying to offer their products at a lower price to become even more competitive. So, a rise in prices for the titles of both companies would be something totally unpractical and kind of ridiculous. If such thing happens, that merging would be completely pointless.
And yay at this merging. It's easier to find ADV titles in Mexico than Geneon's. I wonder if the titles Geneon have been distributing for some time will be re-released again, with the ADV logo, or not."

"Sandbang from Home Run Derby? Doesn't ring a bell to me. Do you have a picture of it? Maybe it's one of those too many Nintendo games I never played before. So, what do you think about that speculation about Ridley appearing in the game? Personally, I wish that was true, even though it's a very far possibility, specially because Ridley would look too weird in this game:
-He's kinda bigger than your average Smash character. I even think he's bigger than Bowser, or at least that's what the Metroid Prime and Metroid Fusion showed us (Fusion's Ridley is just a copy of the original, more grotesque and bigger, so maybe that's a bad example).
-I can't imagine how he would play. I mean, he's a pterodactyl-like creature that is always flying and his only attacks are his fireballs, his attacks with his tail and that grab. And in his Metal Ridley form, his attacks weren't that different, except when you destroyed his wings, though those attacks are still pretty weird.
-What would his Final Smash be? A transformation into Metal Ridley? ... well, the idea doesn't sound half bad.
By the way, there's also another rumor that came from a Nintendo magazine (in spanish) called Ventendo. Apparently they interviewed Sakurai, the director and creator of the Smash concept, and... according to that interview, Sonic is already programmed in the game as a playable character, but they need confirmation from Sega so they can fully confirm him as another 3rd party character featured in Smash Melee, and such confirmation must be done after the 26th of july (this month!) or else Sonic won't see the light in the game.
I suggest you to take the above thing as a very strong rumor. Don't hold up your hopes a lot, because that magazine could have written bullcrap."

"I really enjoyed Guitar Hero 1 a lot, specially because of its really excellent musical selection, including stuff from master Jimi Hendrix. One of the best musical games I've played in some time, spite of being hard to play ^^uGuitar Hero 2 featured practically the same gameplay, but it's not as good, specially because the musical selection isn't that good. Not bad, but it's inferior to Guitar Hero 1, to be honest."

Super Smash Bros. Brawl

"There's some speculation about that purple strange enemy be like Smash Brawl's new "generic" enemy. You know, like the polygon fighters in the original Smash Bros game or those other guys from Smash Melee (forgot their name) who are kinda shapeless and share some moves with the main selectable characters.Oh, and there's also an even weirder speculation: People at internet forums are claiming that the clouds from the background, when Metaknight appears, form the shapes of the following characters: Newtwo, Bowser, Master Hand (those 3 are kinda believable, considering that one of them is already announced as a playable character and the other 2 made their appeareance in the previous Smash game)... and Ridley.
Stay tuned. Brawl will seem to be more interesting than expected ^^"

"People, please check the latest update. The one called "This World...", which made me go "what the..." for some instants.I can imagine it's some sort of explanation about the single player, now with a kinda deeper plot or something, involving Meta Knight and that strange character from the last picture (first I thought it was Marx from Kirby Super Star, but it seems I was wrong). It's a very confusing update, probably made to make even more speculation."

-It'll be directed by Katsumata (heck, NO).
Some rumors about it:
