After months of work, chanelqueen17 has created a gorgeous scene of Alice and Oz from Pandora Hearts, using scans that didn't even feature both characters together. Even after spending so much time on matching the details of the characters to their new looks, chanelqueen17 didn't stop there and went all out on the background too! This wallpaper definitely needs to be seen!

Guitar Hero II

"Guitar Hero is like... the refined version of Guitar Freaks:-2 more buttons.
-A way better soundtrack (sorry, but the japanese-ish tracks from Guitar Freaks aren't that appealing to everyone).
-Patterns that DO resemble the way to play a guitar more than just random senseless notes.
I personally prefer Guitar Hero 1 over 2, because it has an overall better music selection. Guitar Hero 2's music is good, but 1's has more classic stuff."

"Wow... today's update was total and absolute crap. They only updated the site with a new item called the Gooey Bomb. I thought they were gonna show more stuff than just one freakin' items :/Anyway, at least the screenshots in the site are showing a very fantastic graphical quality that couldn't be that appreciated in those videos with so much detail.
And we can say the best aspect of this game (not considering the gameplay) will be the music. I was like "... are they serious about this?!" when I saw the list of composers that will work in this title, including Yasunori Mitsuda and Noriyuki Iwadare :O"

Final Fantasy VII: Dirge of Cerberus

"Considering it's a FF7 spinoff the current thing we're talking about, saying it's "one of the best" is not saying much.
It's impossible for me to appreciate other details of a game, if its main base (the gameplay) fails totally :( Sorry, but Dirge or Cerberus' full motion videos or the whole fact that it's a game dedicated to Vincent (heck, after beating FF7, I totally got tired of its story but I still thought Vincent was one of the best things of that game, and it was a shame he was totally and highly ignored) won't make me play this thing again."

PSP

"The PSP is a nice system, if what you're looking for is a platform that offers ports of big consoles, remakes of old classics or similar stuff. Seriously, I wouldn't buy a PSP because of the "innovation" aspect, because that's precissely its weak point.I have one, and though I love to play with it a lot (and I also use it to listen to music), I must say that most of the games I want are stuff like ports of fighting games (Guilty Gear Judgement, Tekken Dark Resurrection, Darkstalkers Chronicles), some remakes of some old games (Valkyrie Profile, Megaman Powered Up), collections of games (Gradius, Capcom Classic Collection) and some ports of PS2 games (Winning Eleven, Disgaea). The very few "innovating" games I want from it are extremely rare (Loco Roco, DJ Max)."

"Dirge of Cerberus, as a game, is total and absolute garbage. Boring, it totally lacks deepness, it's a total piece of cake, the battle system is totally lame.I don't mind about the rest of the things in that game, if the gameplay is crap. Even the Gungrave games are better than this thing, and definitely there's no comparison with stuff like the Devil May Cry series."

Ken Kutaragi steps down :/

"... erh, for all the people who are all happy and acting like if "lol we won" because Ken Kutaragi stepped down in Sony Computer Entertainment... did you really read the note? There, it clearly says he'll still be working at Sony, and he'll also still have influence in Sony Computer Entertainment. Difference is, he won't be the direct responsible of that division of Sony.
Kaz Hirai replacing Kutaragi = biggest laugh ever."

[Anime Chat] Lucky Star
2 years 7 months ago
"Lucky Star is a series that only want to show some girls from high-school talk about normal and nothing-out-of-the-extraordinaire things of life. Considering that, the series is making its purpose pretty successfully, and if you know exactly what to expect here, the series is very entertaining. Most people doesn't like it because they're expecting for something "zomg weirdly funny" or stuff, like in Suzumiya Haruhi, when it's a series with a totally different formula and style. I personally liked it because of all the random references thrown at the series (the Street Fighter 2 one was PRICELESS, as well as the part when Konata copy-pastes her friends' vacation homework), the really cute characters (the girl with glasses being my favorite, followed by Konata) and the overall "daily life" feeling of the series."

AIR the anime and movie licenced

"Whoaa... they took a lot of time (it seemed like an eternity) to license such a wonderful series and movie like Air.I hope they also release Air in blu-ray format, like in Japan. It would make sense, considering that Air was the first anime ever released in a high-definition format (the TV series, I'm not sure if the movie was also released in the same format), and so far the series looked greatly amazing.
In any case... man, do you know when this series will be released?"

"I can only say this for now:Why would I like to buy a Playstation 3 in this moment, when most of the games released for that platform are also available (or will be in some months) for XBox 360, with only some minor graphic differences?
Playstation 3 won't be worth it until it starts having exclusive titles that are totally worth it. And I'm sorry, but the sequels of games like Metal Gear Solid, Final Fantasy and etc. don't call my attention at all. I want new concepts, not sequel-itis."

DOA (Dead or alive) FTW!
2 years 7 months ago
"Tekken 4 doesn't suck. It's just too different, fans couldn't get used to the gameplay, they complained and didn't play, Namco made Tekken 5 more similar to Tekken 3 mechanics, everyone happy.
I personally kinda liked Tekken 4 (more than any of the 128 bit Dead or Alive games, indeed) because it offered some interesting ideas, like a high and more useful interaction with backgrounds and its 8 directions movement (like in Soul Calibur), but sometimes the wall-juggling combos and other insane things made the game feel weird sometimes. But in theory, Tekken 4 was a good idea that couldn't be properly developed."

Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess &. Ocarina of Time
2 years 7 months ago
"The similarities between both games can be explained easily with this: They were both directed by the same person, Eiji Aonuma (or something like that).Only difference is, you always stay like a grown-up Link, and a lot of things were highly improved. In example, Twilight Princess' battle system is more intuitive than Ocarina's, and the lock-on system doesn't get confused like it did once in a while in the original Ocarina of Time. Also, the new features like that disk that allows you to "skate" were interesting and excessively fun.
Only thing I haven't liked about these game is the kind of direction Aonuma has given to the series. It seems like Ocarina of Time, Wind Waker and Twilight Princess follow practically the same scheme, unlike other Zelda games which follow their own ways to develop the overall story. Come on, I'm pretty sure he can figure out any other enemy than Ganondorf... like Thunderbird (and your shadow) in Adventures of Link, that strange wizard from A Link to the Past or the Wind Fish' nightmare in Link's Awakening."

Clover Studios Ressurected as "Seeds"

"Seriously, I'd rather see Okami canned, than seeing Capcom hiring another development studio to make an Okami sequel and ruin the concept totally with horrible ideas and stuff.Capcom tends to screw their own games doing that. Should I mention Devil May Cry 2 as a perfect example of it?
... another, more healthy and better, option would be Capcom to hire Seeds to program the sequel. Of course, if they'll ever consider to do it... considering that Okami did so poorly in terms of sales, it'll be kinda hard to see it."

Slam Dunk and Prince of Tennis
2 years 7 months ago
"Erh... I wouldn't go that far, comparing Slam Dunk with Prince of Tennis. Indeed, they're both sports anime and both series came from Shonen Jump...But seriously, in my opinion Slam Dunk feels better than Prince of Tennis in lots of aspects:
-Sakuragi, even though he has a really tough and kinda difficult personality, is more likeable than Ryoma. Sakuragi is kinda arrogant, I agree, but at least he's funny in the process and he overall evolves during the series, and he's also a believable character, because he's not invincible, his team loses and he has to work very hard in order to become a better basketball player. He's a realistic character.
-In the other hand, Ryoma is always the same arrogant annoying stupid boy who ALWAYS wins (I think he only lost 1 or 2 times in exhibition games) and makes totally unbelievable stuff that you wouldn't see in a serious tennis player... and no, I don't mind if the story says he's a genious and he's the best tennis player of the entire universe, it doesn't change the fact that his skills are ridiculously out of reality and he's one of the most irritating main chars in anime ever.
Sorry, I had to say it."

Fate Stay Nigth. What is your opinion
2 years 7 months ago
"I really wish Studio Deen may consider to release OVAs to animate the other 2 endings of the original Fate / Stay Night story:-Unlimited Blade Works, so far the best ending of all... and the ending packed with a lot of action and a really impressive battle.
-Heaven's Feel, only because this arc was too centered on my favorite character, Sakura chan :3 And also because of the dark versions of some servants which looked kinda psycho and evil.
Also, it would be pretty interesting to see Hollow Ataraxia animated. From what I can tell, one of my favorite servants, Lancer, gets WAY more attention there and you get to know his true master Karen (which is kinda cute in my opinion).
But erh... I guess it'd be easier to imagine an animated version of Fate / Zero."

Fate Stay Nigth. What is your opinion
2 years 7 months ago
"I must admit I enjoyed Fate / Stay Night greatly when the anime was released, and I was really hoping this anime would be better than a previous anime-port (lol, if such term exists, let me know) from Typemoon, Tsukihime... which gives me a lot of bad memories because of its really terrible adaptation of the original game's plotline, the terrible pace of the series and the fact that they didn't explain half of things that were too important to understand the story's plot.I was glad when I saw it for the first time and I realized that Fate Stay Night was superior to Tsukihime in all those aspects, and the first 13 episodes were really taking a good path for redeeming Tsukihime... but after episode 13, everything went down terribly.
-One of the best characters died (ok, ok, it had to happen, but his absence affected everything greatly).
Everything turned into a mess that was hard to understand and follow.
-They started mixing stuff from the original 3 arcs from the game... in a very confusing and ridiculous way.
-6 of the chapters from the second half of the series were more like fillers :/ Nothing that relevant happened there.
-Characters that were totally ignored and discarded during the series (Taiga, Sakura, Lancer, Kotomine).
First half of Fate was awesome. Second half was... dissapointing."

The Classic Sonic Games

"Kareshi, I'd suggest you to listen to the occidental soundtrack of Sonic CD. It's totally superior to the japanese tracks (which aren't bad, I must say).I have Sonic Mega Collection Plus for my XBox, and sometimes, when I have some time, I play the old Genesis platform games, being Sonic 1 my favorite ^^ It's simple, fast and fun to play. I also like Sonic 2 a lot, but I enjoy it even more when you connect it with Sonic & Knuckles to use Knux in that game, and find new zones and bosses (I still think that was a pretty AWESOME idea), and while Sonic 3 is also awesome with Knuckles enabled (and the fact that it was his premiere as a character... my favorite Sonic character) I must admit it isn't as good as the previous 2 ones. Sonic & Knuckles as a game itself is regular, as an addon it's still pretty amazing and cool."

Why do people just have to tell evryone that they hate dubs?
2 years 7 months ago
"I will always say it and reafirm it:As long as the dubbing is good, I don't mind where it comes from. As well as there are horrible occidental dubbing, there's also craptastic japanese dubbing.
Let's just put a simple example: Saint Seiya.
I grew up watching Saint Seiya (or Knights of Zodiac / Caballeros del Zodiaco, as we know them here, in Mexico, for more than 15 years) totally dubbed in mexican spanish, and it was impressive how actors gave the characters a very defined personality, as well as a lot of dramatic acting and a lot of things.
Then, years later, when Saint Seiya Hades was released, I couldn't wait to see the first fansubs of it, because it would be the first time in years since I watched Saint Seiya that seriously... but, oh my, I was so dissapointed when I heard a lot of the voices from the japanese version. Seiya sounded totally over-acted (my head still hurts everytime I hear him shouting "Pegasas Ryusekaaaaaaaaaaaaah"), Shun sounds totally like a fag (I know he's kinda bishie, but his japanese voice is ridiculous), Death Mask sounded totally blah, and I can go on.
And unfortunately, it's the same impression I had with a lot of shonen animes I saw in japanese. Dragon Ball in japanese is craptacular (even Vegeta's english dub's "over 9000!" is more acceptable), Rurouni Kenshin had some good voices, but other way more terrible ones (being Kenshin the worst) and etc."

Movie based Games

"About Enter the Matrix.That's... a really hard case to analyze. I must admit the game is ultra fun, if you just want a game where you can beat the crap out of your enemies, and bullet time attacks can be cool and all that, plus all the high value productions involved in this product:
-Filmed cutscenes with the actors of the movies (and yes, I'm pretty sure there are a lot of people who loved the Niobe and Persephone kiss scene).
-Voice acting by all the Matrix actors.
-Scenarios and backgrounds directly taken and represented loyally in 3D.
-A story that actually makes sense with the entire Matrix movies.
But gameplay tended to be too boring after some time of playing it... and I don't know if this happens in the Gamecube or PS2 versions, but the XBox version has a lot of ridiculous stuff which makes it unplayable sometimes:
-The game freezes.
-The game sometimes doesn't want to load certain locations of the game.
It was very frustrating :/"

Difficult Levels
2 years 7 months ago
"Consideing that all of you guys have already mentioned some of the most frustrating levels I've played in some old school games, I'm gonna talk about some of my very personal frustrations:-Mad Space, in Sonic Adventure 2. The entire level is one of its own kind. It's one of those levels where you must check the entire stage to find the lost pieces of the Master Emerald (I personally liked those levels a lot, EXCEPT this one), using Rouge the Bat, and you need to travel between some kind of mini-planets or moons in order to find them. The problem is, the level is TOO big, getting lost is excessively easy (even the camera gets confused sometimes), the stage itself is annoying (you get attacked not only by Eggman's droids, but also by meteors that pass nearby... plus, dealing with the moons' gravity is strange). When I was able to get all the Mad Space stages with A, I sweared I'd never play it again.
-The ancient ship from Otogi Myth of Demons. You are riding a ship, crossing through a river, trying to keep some slime-like enemies away from it so they don't sink it. In fact, passing this level is TOO easy, but the main problem here is to obtain the 100% of the level, which you achieve by destroying some elements from the stage itself (signs, crystals, other ships, etc) and in order to do that, you need to get off the boat, and while you're out of it, your mana levels get drained, and when it's totally empty, you can through the river and you instantly lose.

HALO 2 FOR PC FINALLY ANNOUCED

"I think the main problem with Vista is, it practically makes the same things Windows XP does, except it's prettier and with a lot of visual effects for the desktop and the windows... visuals effects that are unnecessary. And considering most people are happy with Windows XP, Vista is now seeing as something that's not really necessary. And heck, someone would have to be nuts to buy Vista, just to play Halo 2.My opinion."

Movie based Games

"Examples of games based on movies that MUST not be done:-Jurassic Park for SNES. Seriously, this is, by far, one of the perfect examples of "average game based on the hype of a movie". Game's graphics were OK, and the first person scenes (when you infiltrate a bulding or a facility), but controls didn't even respond accurately during the top view parts, exploration was frustrating, the hidden eggs side-quest is boring and unnecessary... and the worst thing of all is: the ending is a total and complete piece of trash :/
-Batman Forever for SNES and Genesis. Seriously, the idea was good in theory (a platform game with fights similar to Mortal Kombat, with even a similar control and way to do the moves, plus the motion captured sprites, CGI backgrounds and etc) but it failed totally in the practice. I won't deny I kinda liked it for the first hour, but after that, the game stopped making sense, specially when you see Riddler's form as a final boss, hahaha."

Movie based Games

"As long as the game is well done, fun and highly playable, I don't mind if it's based on a movie or not.The Lord of the Rings games from EA (Two Towers and Return of the King) are a clear proof of that. They don't only look and sound great, but they're totally fun... of course, if you like beat'em ups. They're not very complex games, gameplay wise, but man, they are ultra fun to play... specially Return of the King, with the 2 players mode.
Another example of a good game based on a movie is Riddick for XBox. Even though I haven't had the chance to have it for myself, I've played it, and it's a pretty impressive game, with smooth graphics and a really good gameplay. Hard to believe Vin Diesel was the producer of it, lol."
