After months of work, chanelqueen17 has created a gorgeous scene of Alice and Oz from Pandora Hearts, using scans that didn't even feature both characters together. Even after spending so much time on matching the details of the characters to their new looks, chanelqueen17 didn't stop there and went all out on the background too! This wallpaper definitely needs to be seen!

I think some girls just look a lot more fresh with short hair, especially those with strong facial features.I don't think all guys prefer girls with long hair, but from what I've seen and heard throughout the years, it seems to me that most guys do. "One time I reported a smaller duplicate scan, and the larger scan got deleted on the basis that the smaller scan had better quality and the the size of the smaller scan was sufficient for making a wallpaper out of it. I think that can apply here. While your scan is larger than the original, it would require more cleaning if the user didn't want to vector it. :)"View

"I think it would be better if you referred to it as a vector instead of a scan, because technically, it's a vector, hahaha. But I wonder why the quality of the vector is low? (vectors are supposed to look sharp) Did you shrink it and then stretch it? That's the only reason I can think of for it to look like that... You mustn't ever stretch an image or the quality will go down! XDAbout the colors of the vector, I would prefer the first version, but with deeper colors. The yellow seems too unnatural to me. If the program you use has a 'levels' adjustment, you can make them deeper from there. After that, I would contrast it a little and then maybe add some saturation. That would make Honey pop out more from the colorful background. He looks a bit dull right now.
Now about the background. I think some of the colors and designs in the boxes are a bit overwhelming for the simple-colored Honey. For him to stand out and be the focal point, the background would have to be a bit lighter. I also think there needs to be more variety in the colors of the BG, so I suggest using pastel yellows, greens, pink, and colors that are generally not any stronger/darker/brighter than the colors on the character. So having said that, I guess you probably know that I will say the box with the stripes is too stong and takes away attention, haha. The lines are also very different from the designs in the other boxes.
Even though there are a lot of boxes in the background, the background still seems too simple and there is a lack of depth. For that, I'm not sure how to fix it. Maybe you can make it look like a quilt with some white stitching around the boxes and have a somewhat thick border around all the boxes. But I'm not sure if that would work
Also, since everything in the wallpaper is rather symmetrical, I think placing Honey in the center would be better. I dislike borders surrounding wallpapers because one side will always be covered by the taskbar and it makes me feel that I'm looking at an image instead of... another world... on my desktop ><;;;
For the text, I think it would be cuter to use a phrase from Honey that would match his expression. The font should also be simpler and fatter, hehe. I don't know why, but font in wallpapers always look better when they are plainer. The solid black against the background doesn't look good to me. I think if you added a pink shadow to white words similar to this it would have more depth. I keep talking about depth because it makes a wallpaper more interesting, whereas flatness is not as easy to look at (for me).

"The idea of the background is cute, but I think the character is too small and it doesn't feel like he is the focus of the wallpaper. Instead, it feels more like he is a prop in the background. I think that is especially so because his pose makes him very long and straight. If you think of the background space as shapes, square or rectangle shapes are generally not interesting. If his pose is like a rectangle, he doesn't make the shapes of the background around him interesting, and therefore the composition is looks boring. If you look around, you will see that characters with a pose like that will generally be very big and take up a lot of the background space, so the "shapes" don't begin to look like rectangles as they do here. And characters that are far away will often be in an interesting pose or be wearing flowing clothes. I don't know how to explain it clearly, sorry ><Your signature is a bit hard to read and is fairly large too. I think most people appreciate the signature to be small and at the bottom of the wallpaper so that it can be covered up by the taskbar. If you want to leave it in sight, I suggest making it look more like a part of the background like being around one of the hearts or such. That way, it's still there, but not as distracting.
The character also looks very dull and appears to be squished sideways. With a scan of low quality, I think it's best to put a texture over it. If you use texture that covers the whole wallpaper as the top layer, it will also help to blend everything together.
Did you use different fonts for the words in the background? I think using only one font would work better. Also, the solid coloring of the words don't match how everything else is textured, so adding a texture as the first layer should help with that as well. While I think the color of the font matches the pink, I think it makes the words hard to read. Maybe if you add a white outline or shadow to the words, it would be better. And maybe a simpler font would match his character design more too.

If I had to work with that vector, I would use some grays for the BG. Here is a good example of how to interestingly use text in the background. You can also split the background into a few rows and have text in one of the panels and some other designs in the other panels. "I really like how you painted the his hair! It's so smooth and has depth! And I think you're a good painter. However, I think the tips of his bangs should be sharper because the details in his face are pretty sharp, so blurry hair doesn't really match. His eyes look a bit far apart, but since he's not really human and has a short nose, I think that kinda makes it look interesting! But his gold eye is not turned enough toward us so he looks like he has a bit of a lazy eye. The additional person from the screencap also needs to have the further eye turned more toward us.Still, you're doing a good job and you should continue! Your hard work will pay off!"
