After months of work, chanelqueen17 has created a gorgeous scene of Alice and Oz from Pandora Hearts, using scans that didn't even feature both characters together. Even after spending so much time on matching the details of the characters to their new looks, chanelqueen17 didn't stop there and went all out on the background too! This wallpaper definitely needs to be seen!

HOW TO USE LINUX (FEDORA)????
10 months 2 weeks ago
"@~honorsharkthreads get locked because they are long dead or that they do not garner replies anymore (assuming no violation was committed in the thread in question).
to the thread starter:
fedora is a bit complicated for beginners in linux. i recommend you try ubuntu first though it's more or less the same. else, the best thing that i can advise you is to read on some linux/fedora-specific forums or go directly to fedora's site.
linux is not an os like mac or windows where it works out-of-the-box. you have to really tweak it to your liking, (and i have to emphasize tweaking). you have to play around with it until it suits your needs or until it becomes stable according to your needs. =)"

Upgrading Slightly

"hmmm... i have been working with multi-os platforms for quite a while now. usually, you install the earlier os first. is it different for vista's case (or for a 64bit os for that matter)? personally, i haven't tried installing or even using vista..."

Intel or AMD Processor
10 months 3 weeks ago
"It has been more than a year since i last visited and been active in the forums here. i got here today 'cause i'm bored.. hehhehehewell in any event, i have been reading tech forums here and there. i have not heard much from amd since intel dominated the market with their conroe's (or the core 2 duo processor line for those who don't know). that was the time when i last bought a pc, my c2d e6600. well, that was the era before quad cores became the mainstream processors for enthusiasts.
during those days, amd tried its best to catch up. unfortunately, they never won the market back.
now, i am looking forward to what they are brewing over at the amd labs. phenom ii, or the deneb. engineering models have come out and have been tested, benchmarked and even overclocked. sounds promising, all of them have been getting good results from this processor. we'll have to see when this comes out of the market.
answering to the thread topic - this has always been a question for every tech-savvy people around. but the real question is "which processor for what use". me, i get my answers from official benchmarks... then i think of what i am going to use my pc for. i take no sides when it comes to their products. but i like amd better because of the price:performance ratio. you get more out of your money."

What anime made you cry?
2 years 8 months ago
"Going back to those days, you might say "it's so not you" if i start giving you my list of anime where i became emo =)but nevertheless, i'll give you a good discussion.
at first it was air. really sad end. actually, the sadest parts of this series was the part when yukito transformed into a crow. it revealed the scenes that explained everything that used to be "behind the scenes". with this, we finally realized that haruko was really doing her all for misuzu. and thus, the last episode was made a very touching moment.
and if air was not enough... saikano.
i was crying hard (seriously, i was) when i was watching akemi's last moment as she struggles to live. very tomantic yet sad and tragic.
well, i am not seeing much quality anime lately so it was a few months back since i last cried while watching an anime series... =-)"

How do you watch Japanese anime ?
2 years 8 months ago
"For me, it used to be on TV dubbed into my local language (filipino). also got to watch them on VHS. cannot afford to buy LDs because they are so darn expensive.then comes VCD, then DVD. during that period, fansubbers start to rise and i see myself collecting their works.
now, i just watch anime with the fansub releases and some raws..."

"@~Anzeoif you are not into gaming that much, or if you are into gaming but are not planning to max out the graphics settings (just decent enough to display those sprites and 3d polygons), then that specs would be good be enough. the most important thing in buying your rig is that you get to enjoy it... regardless of it not being the industry's top performer =)"

"i understand your predicament, being a die-hard AMD fan myself. but times have changed to favor intel. probably for now, though. the benchmarks say it all. core2duo and higher-end processors are the king of the pc-gaming road as of late. amd on the other hand, well... i'm sure they have something prepared for the future, especially now that we have processor limitation issues for the higher-end graphics cards. of course, intel won't let themselves be left behind either."

"I like these kinds of threads. keep em coming. i might post mine here soon or make another thread =)@Unrealbr
how much is the size difference of a 9500 and a 9700 zalman? that is what i was about to buy but sadly the item is scarce here. i'm currently using the cooler master eclipse, which is a good performer because it gives me 44 degrees centigrade at full load =) of course, i would still prefer to get the CNPS9700NT, all copper!"

"If you can still back out on the order, i would recommend you use the ASUS P5N32-SLI Deluxe mobo instead. i say so because it's better to use an nForce (nForce4 in this case) chipset on an 8800gts graphics card. trust me, i have the same configuration (mobo-video card) and i got no complaints....or probably if you still have cash, get the Striker Extreme to harness the full potential of the 8800gts (or any mobo with nForce 680i).
the rest of the other stuff are A-okay! =)"

Nvidia is the king : 8800 GTX

"it's not really that necessary to have an SLI pair for this card. one is good enough unless you are aiming for a certain number of 3dMarks. as i mentioned earlier, i have been playing games that require graphics juice, all at max settings and i got no complaints. can still run those games smoothly. though in the benchmarks, i have to agree that there are limitations indeed. most of which are processor-related. after all, intel or AMD have not yet moved up a notch to match the needs of these killer monsters. i have been reading everywhere that most only complain of processor limitations, but the rest are okay. for me, these processor limitations are close to negligible, if not totally. but then again, it's also a good choice for those who have not bought an 8800 card just yet to wait for the 8900 or 8950.
as per Tom's Hardware, the best chipset for the 8800-series cards would be the nForce 680i and not nForce4. don't get me wrong, the cards work well on an nForce4 chipset indeed (i'm using the ASUS P5N32-SLI Deluxe, which is an nForce4 mobo). but to get its full potential, you need the 680i. Best motherboard at this time for these cards is the ASUS Striker Extreme. enough said, just check out the benchmarks and reviews for this mobo. =)
one good thing about waiting is that the prices drop... and it drops at a significant amount. and you get a better card for the same amount of cash that you have now. for me though, waiting games take forever because technology evolves really really fast. for as long as i get what i need, i'm happy =) IMHO...
my two cents. not to offend you or anything =)"

"trust me, it's worth the money =) at least for me, on my 8800gts. never complained on playing games anymore.
as expected, ATI never wants to get left behind. and everyone is looking forward to the R600 architecture too. now the only thing that we need to wait for would be the benchmarks... or there might be already are existing benchmarks for these babies."

"yeah, a big fan of rts here too =)
as for compatibility, modern games aren't venturing in the vista-DX10 just yet. definitely, they're gonna make it WinXP-DX9.0c as far as the minimum requirements are concerned. as for the graphics, it ain't going to require much as RTS games are known to be more of a processor-intensive than graphics-intensive... but when i saw the trailers, i started wondering. too much eyecandy i guess... =)"

"That is to be expected. just like windows xp when it first came out.i have the 8800gts on my xp pro and the thing is indeed a monster. never played a game with all settings at max, except for the AA and AF of course =)
it's also true though that this monster is hot... not to mention power-hungry. need to upgrade from my 450W psu to 550W since i have a few hard drives in... with this, i decided to build another system instead of doing an upgrade. got two PCs running in my room =)"
