This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

Death is Wonderful.... <3
1 year 10 months ago
"I'm not really into non-anime work, but i see that this one is indeed something great. looking at it without zooming in, it kinda looked like hitman to me (yes, the pc game... and i think my eyes are bad)a scary wallpaper, but i actually notice more sadness here. it kinda like shows someone mourning for her dead loved one... but nah... that's just about what i can say...
as for the aesthetic aspect, it looks nice. the main character in the wall fits perfectly in the background, though i suggest you do some moe filtering on the fingers and shoulder baldes since it was kinda a bit off... and that you could've placed something else on her face instead of an open-mouthed skull (just don't have anything specific for that at the moment).
overall, great job! [^.^]"

What will you do to your anime collection if you have grown and become parents??
1 year 10 months ago
"Well... nothing wrong with being an otaku for life. but we have to set priorities in order to survive in this world we are living in (though having a family is not really a game of survival).if i ever get to have a family, i'd still probably engross myself of anime. only that it will be on a smaller scale compared to what it is right now. i might share my interest with my wife and kids. and if i get fed up, i'll just give my collection away to my friends and fellow-otakus.
either way, looking at the situation, there is always a way to end things. we'll know when we get there [^.^]

Firefox 2.0

"Hmmm... nothing that too spectacular with the transitioning of the firefox versions if you ask me. the only thing i like better with the 2.0 is that the tabs can be configured to stay there. plus an additional setting for the rss feeds, which is quite helpful for authenticating site content... and better eye-candy without skinning it.it's still the same, though i don't use IE at all, i must admit that firefox loads slower than ie. 2.0 is the same with the load time.
i'm trying to download ie7 and i will be testing this later..."

H264 or XviD???
1 year 11 months ago
"H264, usually in MKV format, is really a pain in the a$$ when it comes to resource usage. plays fine on my system but when i fast forward or seek, my pc locks up. also, one thing about this is that if you have matroska pack installed, and have the folders in thumbnail view (windows does this by default so i view them by tile), it leaves the handle open. with this, if your anime stuff are on a USB hard drive and you want to eject it, you can't because the handle is open.if i have a powerful pc, why not. so when i see two versions, i get the xvid.
now that i mentioned xvid, what's the difference of it and vidx? just curious. really never delved on video formats that much..."

Will you Buy a Quad Core when they come out? AMD or Intel?
1 year 11 months ago
"funny way to say it... actually there is use for dual cores and hardcore systems. that is if you are playing a game like doom 3 or far cry with all the settings maxed out (max resolution, anti-aliasing and anistrophic filtering all on at max, shadows, etc.). apart from this, i do not find any use for it except for hobby video editing... =)"

Are you ready for BD Rom replacing DVD Rom
1 year 11 months ago
"I am definitely looking forward to this "new technology" because of my current need for storage space. i also like shounen-yuki explanation for this.for now, it's not yet the time to get one. i mean be reasonable. it's too expensive. but yes, it's worth it... for now. i also like ElectroPoint's remark for waiting until it becomes popular... more of "industry standardization" (how i love that word - sarcasm). unless they are openly sold to the market at cheaper prices, then that's a good time to buy. BD burners and BD media are not yet sold here in the philippines so it might take a few months more... most likely by february or april."

"i agree here. it's not a matter of buying it just for the heck of it (or just because of a whim). it's a matter of how you are to use and what you will use it for.
i only do photoshopping and non-major audio editing compared to orchid here. i am still using a sempron 3000+, and so far, only minor hiccups. though i really hate it when it does because my programs tend to crash from there. ideally, dual core is enough for me. i'm planning to upgrade to a core2 duo this christmas to make way for my video editing needs.
quad cores, dx10 video cards... well, i guess i may have a use for them. i will buy them eventually, i suppose."

Suggestion: Providing More Information for Requesting Galleries
1 year 11 months ago
"Hello there, AP admins.I have been requesting galleries to be opened up for quite some time now. I just realized that there is something missing.
It would be best to put another field there for a description of the gallery one is requesting. This is also to help our gallery mods in approving or rejecting requests since I know that there are a lot in queue (some of them even got piled up so they don't get approved on time or not at all).
I also request this to help those who will approve them get information easily, since not all can be found in google.
What can we put in that text field? Brief description, sample images (linked) and URL for the artist site or anime title.
That would be all. Thanks =)"

Mac or PC?
2 years 3 days ago
"Here we go with the battle between OSs.i mostly use windows, so i am not that knowledgeable when it comes to mac. maybe because mac isn't that popular here in asia, particularly in the philippines. but i have to say that mac outperforms windows in some aspects: stability, user-friendliness and many others that i may not know of. a friend of mine has a mac and i tried playing around with it. didn't like it much, maybe because i am too adept with windows that using a mac was a bit of a hassle. but yes, i definitely like the OS - liked some features that windows didn't have (i like the carousel of icons on the bottom of the mac desktop). not bad... very nice eye-candy for the GUI too =)
maybe i'll get one of those powerbooks in the near future... though i still prefer using windows since it has already been the industry-standard here."
