This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

How does you family feel about Anime?
3 months 4 weeks ago
"Well, I'm the only one in my family who watches anime almost regularly. Though we watch some certain series with my younger brother (for example, One Piece, El Cazador de la Bruja, etc.) and he watches some other series without me (such as Digimon and Pokemon (he's only 10 years old))) LoL))) My parents do not watch anime. They do think that such "cartoons" are for kids only, but they're usually not so against my interests, which means I can freely watch anime without hearing any serious criticism about it. As to my friends, some of them enjoy reading manga and watching anime even more than I do. Actually, I began to watch anime because my classmate used to draw in manga style extremely often (and her drawings were damn beautiful)) She still didn't give up drawing them). I don't consider myself a "cultural patriot" or something like that.. I just do what I like to. I like to watch animes, and I watch them when I have time to do that. I never intend to make other people follow my interests by watching animes like I do. All of my friends know quite well I love Japanese culture (especially Japanese animation), and I think that's enough. They're up to decide what to like by themselves. Talking about my parents, I don't think either of them will ever start watching anime. My father says that anime is "cheap animation". He said that the only anime he found interesting at its beginning was "Death Note". But in his opinion, only the first episodes were a little bit interesting, and the rest ones aren't worth watching. My mother does not watch any cartoons (if anime can be called a genre of cartoons at all) except old Soviet ones."View
Exam Results Failed: Your Reactions?
4 months 4 weeks ago
"I would never commit suicide if I failed any exams. In my opinion, an exam is just as a usual test. The only difference between them is that the marks you get for your exams could help you in finding a good job in the future. But then again, even if you study hard, it doesn't mean you will find the job you want to apply for. I've heard many times that it might appear so that the person who doesn't study well finds a better job than the one who passed all his tests and exams perfectly. So I do not worry about my exams at all. I've had three big ones last year, and I got A's for every one of them. It's probably because of the fact I was not afraid of them. I mean, not afraid of the possibility of my failure.NOTE: having three A's for those exams doesn't mean I've never experienced failure

Watching Anime:English or Japanese
8 months 2 weeks ago
"Well, I used to watch anime dubbed or subbed in English a few years ago. I can't say that dubbing always sounds awful. For example, I enjoyed watching Inuyasha with American dub. Though many people are right saying that English staff is never better than that in Japanese versions. The reason for that is quite simple. There are some phrases that are very hard to translate and to record with suitable intonation without losing any piece of their original meaning. That's why I believe it's better to watch anime in Japanese. But since I don't know that language well enough yet, I usually watch it with Russian overdub. At least that allows me to hear both Japanese and Russian voices, and I don't have to read subs."View
Can you live without your cell phone?
9 months 3 weeks ago
"Yeah, I could live without a mobile phone for sure. I only use it to see what time it is and to listen to music. Athough, that way it would be much harder for others to contact me; and I couldn't call anyone, cause we can't make calls from the stationary phone from our flat, as this function has been disabled by our operator for about two years already. So, all things cosnidered, I'm glad I have a cel phone, but I could live without using it if that was necessary."View
Cartoon Network
9 months 4 weeks ago
"I fully agree with you, guys. I noticed that American CN schedules are getting worse day by day. And talking about Cartoon Network we get here, in Baltic countries... Ah, I can't even imagine who's interested in watching such stupid TV shows. Like there was some sence of humour or something like that in 'em. But there isn't any sign of clever jokes and plot in those series. Speaking of anime, our CN doesn't show any of them! I mean there are no shows like Pokemon, Inuyasha, Fullmetal Alchemist, Naruto etc. in its schedule (however, recently we've been able to see the last two anime series on other channels, such as Jetix and our LNK).Well, as a matter of fact, broadcasting anime usually cost a lot for TV companies. So, as for me, it's much more better to watch anime on a computer rather than watching it on TV with advertisement (it's really nasty!) and so on."

Hows the weather where you live?
10 months 3 days ago
"The weather here, by the Baltic sea, is almost the same as in Canada now (according to Longbow though)). There was plenty of snow outside last week, but now it all has managed to melt down. But I don't mind about that. It's about 5 degrees outside now, so it's rather cold. And that means there is no reason for Saverella-wish to hate meView

Anime fans' day. Should we have such kind of holiday?
1 year 5 months ago
"You know, I also didn't sign this petition. I understand that some people will see that kind of holiday as discrimination of themselves. Although it would be good to have a day when, for example, we could see some more anime on tv than usual or something else. I mean, without having some public concerts to celebrate it and so on.I think you might ask me why did I write about it here. Well, it's only because the more people will express their opinion, the more motivized the decision will be. And, what is more, it's obvious that some people want that holiday to be. This petition was already signed by about 3000 people. And that's only from Russia (or by russian people from other countries).
Well, waiting for more people to take part in this discussion.
P.S. If you understand in russian, you can can go here to find our part of discussion."

Anime fans' day. Should we have such kind of holiday?
1 year 5 months ago
" mangamousie, yeah, I've already heard such opinion. Of course, not here, but that doesn't really matter. You're actually right. But come to think of it, inspite of minuses this idea has its own pluses, and it isn't easy to decide which side needs more attention. But I understood your opinion.mangatron, thanks for your answer too. Seems that you're first to say that. Very interesting opinion. I also began to wonder, what day exactly would it be^^
Well, waiting for others to write what they think)"

Anime fans' day. Should we have such kind of holiday?
1 year 5 months ago
"Hi people. First I gotta explain the title of this topic a little bit. Well, some people think that we should have a day of anime fans. Some kind of international holiday. What do you think of it? Should we have such day? If you think we should, please sign the petition which you can find by clicking here. There you can also find some more details about this crazy idea. We, at russian anime fansites, are extremely interested in your opinion and we would be very glad to hear ANY ideas about this thing. So please feel free to discuss)
Please note that I'm not the one who started all this. As about myself, I think that this holiday in't necessary. Of course, we COULD have one, but only COULD."

power or money?
1 year 6 months ago
"Well, if I had to choose between power and money, I think I'd rather have power. However, not the power to ruin other people's lives, but to protect something or someone that I like or love. But if the choice was bigger, I'd prefer having feelings to having power. In my opinion, both of the things we have to discuss about in this topic can make people crazy. So if I were you, I wouldn't abuse that kind of things in real life."

DEATH NOTE
1 year 6 months ago
"As for me, this anime is very interesting. To be honest, I didn't expect it to be so.Although I watch about nine different anime series a week and what is more, I translate some of them from english into russian, so I don't have time to watch this anime quickly enough. Now I'm only going to watch the thirteenth episode (in russian, of course. So I haven't even seen english fansubs for this series).
Well, guys, I guess I probably made some grammatical mistakes while writing this answer (damn, I really hate making mistakes!). Sorry if that appears to be true."

The Television
1 year 7 months ago
"The following is only about the TV stations shown in our country (I live in Lithuania).First, I think it is unfair, that we cannot watch many great programs that are viewed, for example, for american people. This only means that we get either old shows either stupid new ones. This even makes me angry. Only because of that I agree that TV is an idiot box.
But on the other side I'm sure that viewers rating is the most important thing for channels owners. Many people love such kind of stupid cartoons as South Park. And as a result, we can see them.
But that's not all. The other big problem why channels owners cannot view coolest and freshest shows is that they can't afford them. As any other people, they also have limited amount of money. As I know, greatest programmes, such as Japanese anime or others, usually cost a lot.
All in all, I think TV is an idiot box, but those, who think that channels could view cool shows only if their owners wanted to, are completely wrong.
By the way, I'm sure TV is getting a little better."

A sexy girl & an honest girl
1 year 7 months ago
"DTek,i fully agree with you. It's just what I think.I know that nowadays most of the guys would prefer having a sexy girlfriend to honest one. But then - someone already wrote it here - they probably are just perverted, and nothing more. But I don't think it will be easy for them to find that kinda girlfriend they want to. Perhaps, only if they are beautiful, and if they'll manage to find a girl, who prefers sexy guy to honest one)))
As for myself, I can't say that looks doesn't matter for me. But that doesn't mean that if I see a great-looking girl I fall in love with her immediately. damn that kinda thing! Before saying that a girl is the person I love, I gotta know her other side. If it appears that she's just a beautifull 'doll' with no feelings inside, I would never say she is my girlfriend.
So I prefer something between sexy and honest. Maybe, a little more honest than sexy. That's my opinion."

How do you watch Japanese anime ?
1 year 7 months ago
"I used to watch anime in japanese with english subtitles, but now I'd say I prefer watching it in russian fandub. It's not that I don't speak english well enough (maybe, I don't know it perfectly, as it's not the language I usually speak, but I think my grammar is not bad and the number of words I know is big enough), but I like our fandub. and, of course, I watch it on my computer on great widescreen monitor."View

"Well, I have some sort of nicknames too. But I don't mind. They don't seem to be outrageous. But I won't name them, cause they're in russian, and it is necessary to speak this language to understand them. And I'm sure there's only few russian-speaking people here."View
