After months of work, chanelqueen17 has created a gorgeous scene of Alice and Oz from Pandora Hearts, using scans that didn't even feature both characters together. Even after spending so much time on matching the details of the characters to their new looks, chanelqueen17 didn't stop there and went all out on the background too! I don't really remember the food (or I just blocked out that memory) but yeah, we had to stop for the picture. The food was probably good, otherwise they wouldn't be open still, and of course everyone was getting gas (I mean, getting gas for their cars/trucks...oh jeeze) so it's a happenin' place, let me tell ya! :D

I know, their sign is so fantastic, and so huge. I got funny looks when I jumped out of the car and ran cackling to the front of the sign to take this photo. But c'mon, couldn't they appreciate it's greatness? Honestly... And yes, they must do pretty good business. It was busy when we were there, and people like us, who didn't even need gas (well, no one needs THAT kind of gas...er...) anyway, we stopped even though we didn't have to, just to grab a bite and fill the tank, and snap this picture. We could have made it a bit further to another stop, but why pass this up?

What do you think of Afro samurai and how it compares to samurai champloo?

Both hip-hop related, both have afros, both have samurais, both produced by Japanese studios. And that's about all the major similarities. Champloo had the more acclaimed director and intricate themes, and the music was a jazz-hiphop blend, rather then RZA's gritty Wu-sound. I like them both a lot, and I felt they both excelled on their intended strengths.


You took the words right out of my mouth (hello again by the way!) RZA has a sound that I just love (I enjoy Wu-Tang so much) but I agree that the two shows are strong for different reasons (kinda like you said.) I admit that the 'first battle' (is that what it's called? I can't remember) from Afro Samurai was brutal to say the very least, but the show's starting to grow on me. I'm enjoying both right now, especially the music..."

I love 30 Seconds to Mars, their first album a bit more, but their second album is some really easy listening and it aint half bad. I hate their film clips though :P. Jared Leto is a massive egotistical douche and sometimes it's hard to look past that, I mean I know he's an actor but this is a band, stop making little movies out of your clips, jerk! Ah well, nothing to get bent out of shape over, I can still listen to their music and put that crap out of my mind. It's catchy as hell, too.


Lol, I have to agree with you about Jared Leto. I like to remember his 'My So Called Life' days rather than his bursts of ego/clips. Music's pretty good and catchy, though, I agree with that as well."

You know which one I mean, right?) on the radio the other day and my roommate said it's such a horrible song (the lyrics that is I think) but we both agree that it's catchy. I haven't heard any of her other new songs. I can't believe she's married though! Seems like yesterday she was just appearing on MTV or something!"

What do you do when you're bored in class?

Well being in college, I am paying quite a bit to learn. But yes boredom does occur, and at those times I resort to doodling, and yes little chibi characters fight their way across my notebook sometimes in an all out chibi-chibi war. OOn others day I usually just doodle anime characters on the margin or top of paper or usually sometimes even full page characters. But usually I try to stay focused as I am paying big bucks to go to school unlike highschool and what not.


I'm the same way, except I lack the artistic skills it takes to draw characters. I usually resort to cubes (you know the 3-D ones we all learned back in gradeschool) or stick figures. Oooh, and squiggles/abstract designs (I've learned that I can't draw a straight line for the life of me.) I do, however, tend to write bits and pieces of poetry in the margins of my notebooks, then I go back and piece together a poem or something. That's handy since I'm a creative writing major, but it's rather sad that I have to resort to boredom in order to write something sometimes. If I try to force myself to pay attention during an extremely painful/boring lecture, I pretend to be "actively listening". Professors tend to appreciate active listeners. However, it sucks when they actually call on you and you have to know what you're talking about. Psh, education...

P.s- is it just me or did college tuition and textbook prices skyrocket in the last, oh, let's say five minutes? It's crazy."

what's the thing you most hate about school?????

"Dead week and then finals week.
Hands down the two worst weeks I have to face every quarter (but not for much longer! Yay graduation!) Since it's college, professors and schedules vary from quarter to quarter, and thankfully each quarter is only 10-11 weeks long. The worst time I had class was my 8am chem class my sophomore year...my brain doesn't function properly that early in the morning (don't educators know that?) ~(@_@)~ emoticon"

What are your reasons to live in Japan?

"This may sound really odd, but I may not live there.
I would definitely visit, and my reasons for that go a little beyond wanting to experience the culture. I'm actually looking for my birth-parents/family in Japan, whom I've never met. I was adopted when I was a baby, so I have no real sense of who they are/what they do/what they did (if they're dead). It's scary to think that a whole other side of your life is across the ocean, but I'm also looking forward to finding them one day. That's my biggest motivation for going to Japan, aside from the fact that I just want to go. My whole adopted family was stationed in Tokyo for four years (I got the short end of the stick since I was there when I was four weeks old and I can't remember a thing) but they tell me stories about what it was like and it makes me yearn to go back.

However, I speak hardly any Japanese, which of course is an issue with the Japanese I think because although I "look" Japanese, I am not "fully" Japanese in a sense. Man, I could go on forever about the identity crisis I face, but that would be boring. Sorry for rambling!"

Have you ever missed school even though you weren't sick?Why?

"Heck yes, I've skipped.
I took 20 credits last quarter and it wiped me out completely. I stayed home and slept in a couple days just to catch up, which sucked because most of my professors only allowed two unexcused absences. It's really a bother when they do that! Sometimes taking a day for yourself is required in order to keep going, whether for school or work. It can get overwhelming sometimes!

"I have a couple favorites, mostly the simple sort.
Like kappa maki and tamago (yum). I'm not a big fan of sashimi, though, but that could be because I once had a bad piece of tuna. That turned me off of sashimi for quite some time, but kappa maki and tamago are a sure win with me.

When Do You Wake Up In The Morning?

"Since summer quarter's started, I can sleep in
at least until 10am or so since my class doesn't start until 2, and if I haven't finished my homework I can finish that, eat something, feed the fish, and shower *sniffsniff*. Sometimes I wake up at 4am or 5am due to the obnoxious people upstairs who stomp around at ungodly hours of the night/wee morning. Apartment life can suck sometimes."

Yes, exactly. We were laughing so hard, and people were looking at us like we were crazy. It's a little restaurant/truck stop/gas station combo, so you can imagine how busy it gets. Plus, with a sign like that, how could you NOT stop, at least for a picture in case the people at work don't believe you?
