"BECK is one of my favorites. It really inspires love for music and everything that is "behind music". It is also quite fun and it's interesting as a slice of life anime, but with a different slice from the usual high school ones...

If so, I don't think it's a matter of tradition. It is merely for economical reasons! To color every page takes a huge amount of time and workmanship, so you would have to pay the guys who do that! Also, it is much more expensive to print a color page instead of a BW one.

I don't have serious phobias, I can pretty much control them.
Anyway, I'm uneasy at open sea, where I know the water is very deep. Sometimes I even swam in open sea (I often go sailing with my father)... but it wasn't so fun, and I was glad when I got back on boat. From the wiki article, that would be called Bathophobia.
Also I don't like pain. That's Algophobia.
I hear that there are much stranger phobias, though. Like fear of a number or of a color. There is also an Aquaphobia, the fear of water. I find it very interesting. But I understand that these are not easy to evercome or to "face", since they are totally irrational and outside our control."

Other people (like successfuls sellers, diplomatics, politicians, etc.) learn to master and control it, in order to enhance their communication and sometimes even to tell lies.
No wonder internet forums are often battlefields for flames, fights and things like that: we all have to communicate using only our words. It is very easy to misunderstand the speaker's tones and intentions that way.

I agree that it is very important and with most of what you have said, but I was wandering, Soduruu, where you got those numbers you wrote in your first post. You should write references to what you are saying. I also wonder how they could measure those percentages!"

Everything can have a perfectly logical explanation. Sometimes simple, sometimes very hard to find or to experiment. The fact that you can\\\'t seem to find an explanation doesn\\\'t automatically mean that you witnessed some kind of magic. It does automatically mean that the natural explanation is a little (or a lot) harder to find... unless you are superman, and you can be positively sure that you overlooked not even the slightest detail!
Then again, not even superman knows all of the tricky laws of physics, mathematics, electricity and stuff like that...

edit: oh, I forgot to mention the tricks that your own mind plays on you. That\'s probably the biggest reason for this kind of wierd things. Our psyche is more powerful that any of us thinks. It simply controls anything our brain senses."

For example, I'm kind of bored of the "adventure kids" shounen genre, so I prefer Eureka7. I watched the first 15-20 episodes of FMA and I thought it was nice, but it didn't grab me at all, so I stopped watching it. :P"

Hmmm... Nothing really special about my country, Singapore but it's been said that Singapore's the smallest country on Earth but that is not true. I've been informed that there is a smaller country than Sinagpore on Earth but I forgot which was it.

I admit that I don't know much about Singapore, but I've heard that you have a VERY hard education program there. Is that true?
About the smallest country, I think it is Città del Vaticano (Vatican City), an area of about 600 meters across inside Rome. It's where the pope lives. I wouldn't call it a "nation", but legally, it is!

Gremo, about Germany: is it true that german people usually wear sandals with socks? I have seen one or two germans do that. It looks strange (for italians at least)! :D"

My country is very long, and narrow, we have our typical food like the "Empanadas", "Cazuela", "Anticuhos", etc.
We have very pretty places, like "La portada de Antofagasta", "San Pedro", "Frutillar", "Viña del Mar", "Valparaíso", and many more.
I hope you get to visit my country, at least once in your life, it's very beautiful.

Oh I think everybody knows about Chile! And I'm quite sure it is a really nice country, even if I haven't been there yet. I used to have friends from your country. :D"

-Another food misconception: Pepperoni pizza. I had never heard of it before going to an italian restaurant in the US. In fact pepperoni is not even an italian word. We have peperoni, which means capsicum, but it's not a frequent pizza ingredient. The true pizza that's closer to american pepperoni pizza is the "diavola (devil)" with spicy salami. By the way, that's my favorite ;)

-A scene like THIS is not common here. It was maybe 80 years ago, but right now only in the hearts of the smallest towns you can find that kind of people and lifestyle!

"Since the AP community has people from a lot of different nations, this should be interesting.

Around the globe, for every country, there are a lot of wrong beliefs and a lot of things that common people don't know (since they've never been to that country). So each one should write some truths about their own country.

I'll start, to give an example:

About Italy (my home country):

-Spaghetti with meatballs is NOT an italian dish. Italians never ever ever eat spaghetti with meatballs. I guess it was invented by the americans...
-Onions are not a main ingredient in italian cousine. They are used extensively only in some small areas in the south of the nation.

When something else comes to my mind, I'll post it here ^^

Genres you generally stay away from

"Hmm... I avoid shounen too, because they are basically all the same, especially the "adventurous journey of a small group of boys/heroes" type.
Also, I don't like mecha anime that much (with a few exceptions) because the whole thing is just non-sense for me: there's no practical reason why they should use giant humanlike robots, and there are A LOT of reasons why they shouldn't!

"Well I don't usually play board games because my PC gets all the attention. I do play Risk with my friends from time to time.
Recently, though, I started taking interest in 2 popular eastern games: Shogi and Go.

Regarding the scan idea: since it is a vector I can resize it as much as I want, so the size doesn't matter here , in fact I posted a lower resolution image just to show it to you. But I agree that the level of detail is quite low for a big scan.

"I've joint AP only recently and I still haven't worked on a wallpaper-from-scan project...
but a few months ago I made a vector (using inkscape) of a low resolution screenshot of Mushishi. It's my frist attempt at vectoring, but I somewhat liked it and tried to make it into a wallpaper.

My question is: if I worked on this a little (putting a background and giving it some effects), could this be accepted as a wallpaper? Or do they only accept walls that come from normal scans? If so, would they accept it as a scan instead of a wall?
