This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

Ever Gotten Strange Looks for this...

"I don't remember a specific incident about being caught watching hentai/ecchi probably because I don't really watch that often anyway. Although I do remember a specific incident about 5/6 years back when I was first getting into anime. I was at a friend's house because her parents were having a big party. My friends and I were all upstairs crying our eyes out over Fushigi Yuugi (we were young) and a few adults came upstairs and was really confused why 4 teenage girls sobbing over a "cartoon"But all in all I don't care what people see really because by the time you're in college you've learned that the amount of people who have never seen porn and are over the age of 18 at sometime in their life is fairly nonexistant. So the only people who are actually offended are most likely biggots anyway =P."

Does your friends watch anime?

"All my friends watch anime. Even the ones that I met for totally academic reasons like anime. It's rather odd but I can only think about 2 or 3 people in my address book that doesn't watch anime; and even those people are only very distant acquaintances. And the funniest thing is is that half of the people I'm friends with...when I first met them I was sure they didn't watch any anime at all...>_>"View
What Anime I Should Watch??? Please Help

"Scrapped Princess, Samurai Champloo, Hikaru no Go, Kyou Kara Maou. And extra props for FLCL which is hilarious and short, but watch the dub of FLCL unless you can read REALLY fast or can speak Japanese as the dailogue moves really quickly; plus the English dub is good for once."View
Why do you like japaness animation more than other cartoon animation???
3 years 1 month ago
"Totally agree. Although about a year ago, I would have argued that anime has much better art direction than american cartoons. While this is still mostly true; I've come to realize that there are some seriously ugly anime our there (the xenosaga series for example) and one absolutely beautiful cartoon (Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends). But Foster's is still kid oriented despite having totally kick-ass stylized art. But in anycase, I like anime best because the plot does not revolve around stand alone episodes like most cartoons. Also, the concept of character developement *amazingly enough* is quite appealing to me."

what is your favorite anime girl?
3 years 1 month ago
"Favorites for me are:Anna from Shaman King
Pacifica from Scrapped Princess. I
Tohru from Fruits Basket
Sakura from Tsubasa (she's cute and I like stunned!sakura over far too happy!sakura in CCS)
In anycase, I'm really fond of sincere girls that don't whine and don't get in the way of what needs to be done for some retarded cause/moral/not wanting to hurt anyone (ie Miaka)"

Anime in school.

"Anime clubs in general bring back fairly bad memories for me. In junior high, one of my best friends started an anime club. The problem was that she was really socially inept and kinda unconciously overbearing and refused to let anyone pick the things to watch other than herself. In the end it turned into a all the members versuses her and me in the middle because she was my friend but they weren't entirely wrong to be upset. When I went to senior high I gave the anime club there a shot too, but it ended up in a hopeless kinda of social war between the nerds who had high GPAs and the equally nerdy but lazy and therefore lower GPA people. So yeah...>_>In college now, and while I"m sure there are anime clubs/jap culture clubs somewhere on my huge campus, I stay as far away as possible. I think that in the end anime isn't really a stong enough cause to band people around. The genre's just too vast and too many different people like it and its not a moral thing like anti-drugs or something and it isn't soemthing that looks good on resumes for the people who join clubs just to put it on their college apps/grad school apps/etc... In anycase, my point is that while a group discussing anime is a neat idea, I don't think its particularily practical. I mean theres not much you can really DO in the club other than watch shows and someone is ALWAYS unhappy about what you're watching. You make friends with people who like the anime you like and then there are the enemies who obviously have no taste because they don't like what you like. And the whole thing goes down the drain with lots of name calling and wasted effort. In anycase, that's just what I think but perhaps I"m just a little biased?"

Alternative to Anime.
3 years 1 month ago
"Everything else there is to watch: movies, shows, plays, etc... Although its a fairly improbably situation as I'm sure someone sooner or later would think up the idea of "let's draw something flip book style and make a show instead of hiring actors!"...and with that sooner or later someone would draw up anime or its equivalent although possibly without big eyes and blush marks and impropotionately sized heads."View
