True, I can't expect everything to work for me. I like Opera for it's features and relative lightness, but, it tends to be rather incompatible with certain sites, I know. This is precisely why I didn't straight out ask for the problem to be solved by AP. I'm still wondering if this Dragonfly tool can do anything about it.

Opera has many more problems to solve, and if I suggest this problem to them, it'd probably take a longer while if it ever gets looked at, not to mention that they'd probably say the same thing i.e. "it's not the browser, it's the site." Besides, Opera is free. Then again, I don't really know how browser developers make their money exactly. I suppose I'll wait while using some other alternative till Opera releases it's next version that'll hopefully inadvertently solve the problem.

I know this from experience. Therefore, it's a painful dilemma for me to decide to ask for favors like this. I'm sorry if this ticked you off in any way, I didn't mean to. I'm realize that I'm going back on my words, "take your time." Regret is something I'd rather live without.

It's been two weeks since I've shed light on the problem, and, initially, I thought it was one of rather high priority, as in, more of a "financial" issue than a site bug. I suppose I can only know how important an issue it actually is until it gets solved."

"@ bwilhelm: Actually, many of them aren't. And, if that were the case, like I said, it'd mean that everybody's consistently downloading all the old scans, the big ones and the small ones, since all the old scans have had their prices raised. There's something else causing the baseline increase.

But you have an interesting point. Resolution could also be a valid factor to determine scan prices.

However, as a person who donates for paper to get scans, I'm biasedly against cost increases in general. In fact, I never download freshly uploaded scans. I merely keep them on my wishlist till the costs go down to the minimum.

I think most members are aware of the effect that popularity has on a scan price, hatesyou-sama. I suppose that there is another explanation for this phenomenon as you suspect, because if there isn't, the only improbable reason is that everybody's consistently downloading all the old scans.

Now we just need to wait for Bantam-sama or somebody who's aware of the situation's root cause to come and shed light on it."

"I have just ceased to be a teenager yesterday, so my memory may be failing me, but...

I think I remember the paper costs for old scans to be 20 instead of the 25 that I see now.

I tried looking for an explanation for this odd possible self-confusion that I've recently ran into around the forums, but I couldn't find anything.

Sorry if this has either been addressed before, or not at all because such a price increase never happened, that the minimum scan price has always been 25 papers, and I'm just going out of my mind.

It's been a while since I've visited.

It really pisses me off when I go past the download limit for the day, so, I'm seriously considering donating for that lifetime supply of your wonderful submissions!

I don't know where else to ask this question, so, here it is.

On the Donate to Us page, I found this:

"1000 papers for every dollar donated over $5"

How does this work for future donations i.e. donations after the donation I make, uh, sometime close to now?

Like, if I donate $5 now, for which I get no paper, and I donate an additional $5 in the future, do I get 5000 paper then?

It'll probably be better if an official responds to this...

Not that I don't trust the regulars, it's just that... meh.

I know the worst so far for me is Deck The Halls. Unreal, lousy editing. I still have some respect for Broderick though. He was great in Godzilla. But then I saw this, and then The Stepford Wives. Dunno how he agreed to have those movies humiliate himself.

I just watched The Mist. | It could have been a sucky movie. It's basically a "survival" story of a group of suburbans trapped in a supermarket by the presence of creatures from another dimension let loose by a military experiment gone bad. It's a critical and explicit observation of human behavior in tight conditions. Very twisty, very gory, and to the sick, enlightened mind, funny. The world should see it, if we are ever to survive any apocalyptic situation. "
