As an animation, Bakemonogatari has a simple, clean art style. But the guest illustrations for the series are anything but simple! So, it's great to see that °Tens took on a more complex illustration and made it his own with vector gradients so fine at points it more resembles painting that vectoring. Do have a look at this beautiful wallpaper!

"Re-CGing an image is pretty vague. It usually means to recolor or modify an image. Vectoring and repainting are two types of re-CGs. Experiment around wether you want to have a cel shaded image (vectoring) or a soft shaded (re-painting) image, then do a hunt for tutorials. The Vectorness Group has a huge list of tutorials for vectoring, and the Photoshop Lovers Group has a list of a LOT of tutorials, I'm sure you can find one on re-painting in there."View

"Heya again XD. I was taking a peek at your vectored image, and I suggest that you use the pen tool. Since I was bored and had PS open (was working on another wall earlier) I decided to do a small trace of Roy's head.[LINK TO IMAGE HERE]
So yeah, I used the pen tool and in less than 10 minutes, I did that. The Ferricorp tutorial is the best one that I can reccomend to beginners, and riza linked to it in her post. Take a peek at that, and if you're still stuck, PM me with any questions you have and I'll answer them as best I can."

"If any of you have seen my other works, yes, it's yet ANOTHER Ouran wallie. But heck, the Hosts are awesomes. Anyways, I finished this vector a while ago *cough 2 weeks cough* and every day, I stare at it, thinking "what the frick do I do to this poor vector?!". So yeah. I don't want to make a funky bg for this one, I want to keep it a close up view of Tamaki and Kyouya. Maybe textures would work, but to say the least, I don't know how to use textures properly DX.[LINK TO FINISHED VECTOR ON MY DA]

Disipointing animes

"Hum... One anime series that made me wish for more (I didn't say I was disappointed) was the Suzumiya Haruhi series. They should've incorporated more of the stories that appeared in the novels, but they did end up adding a lot of the mini stories into the series. I think that the Editor in Chief, Striaght Ahead! story should have gotten a place, but ah well. It still ended up as a great series that followed the novels well."View

"Yays it's Hikaru. I did notice one thing (I'm picky x3) and that is: his right arm is blocky D:. Try making the lines more curvy in the elbow fold, and where his shirt cuts into his arm, make sure the lines follow through. Other than that, nice idea for el bg. Play around with the orange a bit more, and try and get rid of the whiteness. Oh, and one more note XD. Try and make it bigger D:. There's a lot of people with a bigger res than 1024x768... Try making a 1280x960 or 1600x1200 version :3."View

"Hum... You'd have to try finding a good bg for the high priestess one, but I have a suggestion for the miyabi ningyo doll one XD. Why don't you try making a pond, with some grass around the edges... put the miyabi ningyo doll on top of the water, and just make sure you get a proper reflection, light radius, water ripples, etc. Might look kinda neat if you could pull off the pond idea correctly."View
