After months of work, chanelqueen17 has created a gorgeous scene of Alice and Oz from Pandora Hearts, using scans that didn't even feature both characters together. Even after spending so much time on matching the details of the characters to their new looks, chanelqueen17 didn't stop there and went all out on the background too! Some help understanding PC RAM, please

"I read the topic on Notebook RAM, and I am in a similar situation. I think I have my mind wrapped around this, but I want to confirm some things.My computer was inherited from a comp-sci major friend who has since moved far far away.
The following information was gleaned by using the System Information for Windows tool:
This machine is running with a 1.8 GHz Athlon XP on VIA VT8367-8235 motherboard with 256MB PC2100 (133MHz) DDR SDRAM and two open memory slots.
According to this tool, the maximum memory capicity is 768 MB, so doing the arithmetic, this means that I cannot install a stick greater than 256MB. Right?
Next question, I've shopped around online and the closest match I can find to these specifications, is 256MB PC2100( 266MHz) DDR SDRAM...which from my reading indicates it is an overclocked version of what I have. Can I install this next to my current RAM or does it need to match in this regard?
GOAL:
Spend about $50 tops now to improve this 'puter until next year when I hope to be able afford a new one.

(by the way, the last image is the version at its most recent level of completion, all previous images were done as sketches and are intended to give you the story of image/idea development. the final image, should I decide to submit it will be a 1600x1200 signed image, this sample is half the size and unsigned{unsubmittable file}.)
Okay, I've been away from walling for a long long time. Check the date of my previous two submissions...yeah, a good long time. Having to live in the real world kinda sucks that way.

Original concept make Lucy into wall mural with Nyu huddled into a corner in front of it.
Step 1 was to make the mural...tried a few things, wanted a more Klimt like bg so I went hunting and cobbled together something a little more archetypical to his works:
...but then against my better judgment, it got junked up with other stuff, like a fractal i thought might give it a layered/lighting depth:
moving on in concept, i tried to visualize the space this mural was going to inhabit, played around with some basic wall textures:
did I like the angle?, dunno, lets slap nyu in there to see if the perspective has a chance:
way too much straight on
needed to soften the look, all right angles wasn't working, maybe square wasn't the answer:
so at this point I just gave up and forgot about it, for more than two years.
a few weeks ago I unearthed it when I stuck my old hard drive into my current computer...the original concept still intrigued me, but the setting wasn't working for the visual story i wanted to tell
so i took myself to architecture school, these are just a few of the hundreds of architectural images i viewed to get a better idea of the location for this image.
please note that i didn't carry through with the full multiple cloister look; the painting would have been way too complicated for my level of patience
but all the viewing finally paid off, as I came away from it with a clearer vision of what I wanted this wall to say:

all work was done in photoshop 7.0 with pen/paint/select/fill/blur tools and about three or four brushes at various diameters

"I enjoyed them all.my chronology is a little mixed up though.
downloaded the anime from an ftp back in '99 or so (yes i guess that makes me old)
imported the tankoubons from japan through various sources starting about 200 until the last one was published
i tried to get myself to the point where i was up to date with the margaret releases but since i have this anal retentive thing about not skipping parts of a series and the publish gap between the serials and the tankoubons was too large, it didn't happen
found bittorrent releases for meteor garden season 2 in the last few years
obtained streamload cache of meteor garden season 1 a few months ago
the manga is my favorite
yes the ending kind of just drifts off but i didn't mind, the thing had been published for about ten years and i enjoyed watching the character design develop as Kamio Yuuko gained experience (and probably more of a staff).
i consider the anime pretty ok considering its time and its progression to the point where it had to write itself out of the manga universe because the author had a plan that lasted a decade and the anime had producers for 51 episodes
the animated OAV or movie was cute. completely unrelated but cute (and the basis for the tv series opening if you'd never noticed)
meteor garden has had its ups and downs for me. san cai is portrayed very well but towards the end of season 2 you just want to slap her around (and everyone else) she goes very un-Tsukushi-like and seems to emotionally implode..and to be honest.: i don't find the taiwanese F4 very attractive or particularly talented *hides under a table to avoid attack of fanbase*
but mama and papa are always decent for a good chuckle
