After months of work, chanelqueen17 has created a gorgeous scene of Alice and Oz from Pandora Hearts, using scans that didn't even feature both characters together. Even after spending so much time on matching the details of the characters to their new looks, chanelqueen17 didn't stop there and went all out on the background too! "But of course yes! The one thing that I am really attracted to is the hair styles u.u esp. for long hair *has long hair and can never get them to behave* the styles look comfortable! Fashions are great too. Shows like Paradise kiss, Nana etc had pretty outfits. Not every anime fashion can be imitated though =] would love to dress up like someone from Gintama and stuff but thats going to look strange on normal streets! Then again, there is always cosplay :)"

What is good or what do you like about Lucky Star?

"The one thing that I liked about lucky star was that it was fresh :) have to say that I haven't seen such a series anywhere!

I'm not a big fan of shoujo anime ^^ yet I was able to watch one full of girls!

The characters are cute, the humor is nice and they are dealing with everyday situations ^^ there is something attractive about the slice of life approach!"

Code Geass Season 2 ending...

"The code geass ending was actually quite beautiful.

I sort of lost my patience with series after ep 20 because the plot seemed to be going in every which direction! It was starting to get confusing, but the ending made up for all of it and more ^^

It just brought every thing together, I think it was fitting that Lelouch had to sacrifice himself, made it effective.

But the way they showed things with C.C, also makes me think that he may be exixting somewhere, similar to Marianne, my own thoughts though!

Either way, it was a great watch."

Does everyone else hate fillers?

"It all depends on the series as well as the timing of the fillers. In Naruto, the fillers did seem to stretch, whereas in a series like Mushishi, there is no definite plot, or direction, can we say its all fillers? Its one of the best series i have watched :)

In bleach near episode 50-51 , I don't recollect the exact episode no. but it was near the climax of first arc and there was a filler =.= I didn't like the timing of that filler!

^^ all in all its a 50-50, sometimes they are fun, sometimes they are not.

I have watched the first two seasons ^^ and now I'm waiting for season 3, if and when it comes out!

The characterization is great and so is the music and most of all the emotion that are conveyed are raw and intense."

Prince of Tennis

"Prince of Tennis is long and entertaining. Even though the tennis does get unrealistic at times, but they still know how to keep it fun :) And the characters are more than endearing ^^ I would recommend it to any sports fan, the bishies are an added bonus :)

I think the manga is stronger than the anime as far as the game is concerned, i even liked some of the characterizations better in the manga, but the anime is still a must see! ^^

"Female character development is a pretty complicated issue ^^ many a times we have shoujo mangas/anime which are supposed to do a good job of portraying the lead female characters, but end up stereotyping them, some shows with nice female character developments in my opinion are

Anime are a type of cartoon, but it is more on how you like to classify the two. In Japan anime is just short for animation and looking at it that way you can classify any things as anime. But in the State it is used to describe a type of art style. In this case anime is sort for Japanese cartoons. The name came to the U.S. when anime was just starting to make an impact. It was being used because arrogantly people called anime Japanimation and some people though that was a stereotype that should not be used. So we adopted the word anime to replace it. Anime is a word that is being pacific to that art; you could say the same if you wanted to distinguish cartoon in too Disney and Worna. Brothers cartoon show it is just how you use the word and if other people can under stand it.

it depends on the context you are basing the similarity on ^^ if you say 'cartoons are for kids and anime is the same' then it'll be like disrespecting both ^^ both of them are art forms, while cartoons basically target a younger audience, timeless classics being exceptions, anime deals with more mature themes (will you let a kid watch Jigoku Shoujo or Gravitation?)and generally target a wider audience.

its funny, while anime is considered to be not real, portrayal of emotions can feel more realistic in an anime, another fact which makes it more appealing is because there is no concept of acting ^^ i mean if a char dies in an anime, it can feels more intense, because you know you are not going to see that char playing someone else in another anime ^^"

i removed the blue coat and the black spot, i think the quality of the scan has also improved considerably. unfortunately, i have no experience in vectoring, i read a tutorial once, but when i tried it, it was all confusing T_T

do tell me what you think of this current version, also if you have any ideas on how to make the background suit the scan better, i'm open to them, though i don't want to change the basic brick pattern, as that would mean i'll have to redo the whole wall, and i kinda liked this one ^_^

"Lots of anime just keep us dangling. Inuyasha didnt have a proper ending, same goes for Ranma 1/2, Tactics, Spiral and many more, it can be a little annoying, esp. if we are talking about a long anime with many episodes."

"My latest work, i made it in Gimp and Photoshop, though it started from a metal gradient and a brick pattern, i lost track of the things i did to get that background! the scan went through a lot of processing too ^_^.
i know this wall will most probably not meet with the AP standards, i had a lot of problems with the extracting, i myself think it didn't turn out good enough, i just want you to take a look at it and if possible rate it on a scale of one to ten. i want to know how good, ( or bad TT_TT ) i'm at this wallpaper making stuff, i do hope to make a wall good enough for AP, hopefully sometime soon....

OK... Why do people always make an issue between MANGA and ANIME. They are similar in some way but why do people always pair these up in an argument. Naturally [in anime world] when a new series is released or aired, it always has its manga version, or the other way around, when a new book is released, an animated version of it will be aired.

Well, except maybe for the sake of argument but WHY?

WELL to me, Manga or Anime, whatever it is, it's fun. Whether you're reading your favorite serie or watching it it just doesn't matter. Their differences is that some of the characters (in animated) are omitted or a scene is missing from its manga counter part. Or some of the characters (in manga) are also omitted or a scene is also missing from its animated counter part. It might be better to buy the DVD volume and the whole Manga book if you think that you're getting off track of the story.

SO...MANGA? ANIME? or ANIME&MANGA?


you have a point, both of them are fun.

but a lot of times we see that the complete story is not shown in the anime, the anime ends abrubtly or prematurely, whereas the polt develops deeper in the manga. many a times, an anime just touches the tip of the iceberg, as far as the actual plot is concerned, most probaly becuse it must be a big job converting a manga into an anime. i.e Getbackers, Furuba, Spiral, Tactics,even Inuyasha and countless others did not provide the complete answers in the anime, and the dedicated fans have to inevitably read the manga.

What are interesting anime u think ??

"Okay, here we go...

Deathnote- a must watch, no doubt about it, i've read the whole manga, but i'm still excited about the anime!

Hikaru no Go - even if you know nothing about the game of Go, its okay, i knew nothing either, its one of the best anime series out there.

Witch Hunter Robin- very unique, great characters, great storyline.

Prince of Tennis- simply can't get enough of it!

Getbackers- ignore the ending, its a great anime, one of my all time favourites.

Tactics- an anime concentrating on supernatural concepts, it dosen't go deep into the main plot, but all the episodes iwere interesting, the characters are also quite endearing, has slight shounen-ai hintings.

Kyou Kara Maou- nutty and hilarious, at the same time its absolutely cute! again has minor shounen-ai content.

Tantei Gakuen Q- ignore the ending, its one amazing series.

Genshiken- every anime/manga fan should watch it at least once.

Kino's Jouney- very different, very meaningful.

Ghost in the Shell (movie + 2 Sacs)- a little on the complicated side, but a great watch nevertheless.

Spiral- i'm addicted to it! the anime ended on a hasty note, and the manga is not yet scanlated, but i would recommend it anytime.

Hungry Heart- Wild Striker- a great anime about soccer.

Inuyasha-watch it,but don't expect too much from the ending, the series does drag a bit in the later episodes.

Daa daa daa/ UFO baby- cute and funny

Ouran High School Host Club- watch it for the humour, ignore the melodrama and the ending!

Sayuki reload- i heard Sayuki was even better, but i never got to watch it T_T

Meine Leibe- its a good watch, has many interesting characters.

Meine Leibe Weider- Sequel to Meine Liebe

Yakitate Japan- an anime about a boy trying to make a bread Japan can call its own, funny and entertaining!

i agree, it was a very refreshing thing to watch, with its unique animation, dark themes, and a fast pace, but i really thought the ending just went haywire, totally seperating from the plot that had been built up. in the end, a whole lot of things were just left unexplained. i guess the original story must be much more detailed than what they showed in the anime."

the most important part of an anime to me is the storyline. if the storyline is bad usually the anime starts to fall apart not going in a definite direction. There were alot of times though where i kinda didnt want to watch certain ones because of animation issues but not usually. That and that chibi characters are uber kawaii and and actually alot of things are pretty cute.


i do consider the soryline an important factor too, but i have a thing for strong character potrayal, thats my top priority. by strong, i don't mean it in physical terms, or super powers, what i mean to say is characters you can become attached to. i know it sounds like a strange criteria, i don't think i can explain it properly either, its like many times the endings of an anime or manja are all messed up, but if that anime/manga had memorable characters, with a good character depth, i don't regret watching/readind that stuff. i can fall in love with an imperfect series because of a single intense character!"
