This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

FMA Anyone ?
7 months 3 weeks ago
"Yup, it's still going...this month, we've got chapter 80 to look forward to.To be honest...one thing that bugs me is the absence of so many characters (some of whom have been MIA for quite a while now), though I understand that you can only cram so much of the story into like, about 30-40 pages.
As I've said before in the FMA anime thread, we can't blame the people behind the anime and movie for straying; the manga was far from over when they began production, and it would be quite a challenge to keep up with the ongoing manga. I can't really complain much, as the anime was what hooked me on FMA (and anime/manga in general) in the first place. I personally enjoyed the anime as well and thought it was a really unique divergence. At least they stayed loyal in about half the episodes."

"Well, you can't blame the guys for the divergence of the anime; after all, the manga was far from over when they made the anime, and surely keeping up with the manga would be exhausting, and FMA would be too long for most people to follow. Whether you prefer the anime or manga is up to you; there are two different story lines, each with its own positive and negative points. I know some people who preferred the anime and got tired of waiting for each chapter of the manga to come out. "View
Why did you like Code Geass
7 months 3 weeks ago
"To be honest, I got curious about Code Geass simply because CLAMP designed the characters, and majority of the creative crew was also behind another favorite of mine, GUNxSWORD (like the director, the character designer who collaborated with CLAMP, and the composers, to name a few). But upon watching the first three episodes, I thought, "Hey, this is pretty good." It reminded me of a lot of anime/manga at once, like Gundam SEED (Lelouch and Suzaku are like Kira and Athrun, in a way) and of course, GxS. The plot is also really interesting, not to mention the relationships among characters and how they develop throughout. Right now, since the series has been licensed, which means I have to stop watching and wait till I can get hold of a DVD or CG is aired where I live, I'm reading the manga.
And I just can't get enough. *sigh* Lelouch is one hell of an intriguing character. "

Which Animes Would You Like Redubbed?
10 months 2 weeks ago
"Personally, I liked the Suzumiya Haruhi dub. I guess the voices do grow on you after a while, like Kyon's. Eventually you get used to it, and now I simply can't imagine anyone else besides Crispin Freeman doing Kyon in English; it's pretty spot-on, actually, and Kyon does act older than his age sometimes anyway, especially with his sarcastic comments. At least they kept those, and managed to dub them well. And I might just be a bit biased towards him because he did an excellent job with Haji in Blood+...yes, I know Haji is older than Kyon, but yeah.
As for animes that need redubbing...well, there are animes I've seen on Animax that have been dubbed in English by people who seriously need lessons from the pros, like Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle, Jigoku Shoujo and Black Jack. Seriously, Enma Ai (JS), Pinoko (BJ) and Sakura's (TRC) voices are done by the same person who doesn't even bother to change her (or his; who knows, it might actually be a guy XDDDDD Heh.) voice to suit each character better. They're all different. *sigh* Plus, Fai sounded like...Kermit the Frog. I mean, in the Animax dub.
But Tsubasa and Jigoku Shoujo have been licensed by Funimation in the US, and I don't know too much about whether Black Jack has been dubbed by an American company. I wish Animax could just import the foreign dubs instead, because they sound much better. I've seen the trailer of Jigoku Shoujo on the Funi website and watched a few Tsubasa episodes dubbed in English; Funimation beats the Animax dubs any day. Or maybe that's just because the former is American, but what the heck.
And I'm glad they decided to redub (or at least, continue dubbing) One Piece. I've heard much better feedback for the Funi dub than the 4Kids dub. "

Cowboy Bebop

"Ack...do watch where you guys place those spoilers, even if they are implied. ^^;;;I have only watched the first two episodes (I love the second more though), and I'm instantly hooked. Cowboy Bebop is extremely unique, and it definitely stands out, I have to say - not to mention that it is one of those animes with excellent English dubs. I'm currently following the dub as it airs on Animax where I live (Hah, Animax never did manage to catch every swearword. Hahaha. XD).
Plus, the music is very catchy. I keep playing the theme songs over and over. XDDDD

Fullmetal Alchemist

"FMA was the anime that dragged me into anime in general. Ever since I watched the first episode, I wanted more. And when I finished the series, I moved on to the movie, the OVAs, and the manga, which I currently follow. It's a wonderful story that combines both magic and science into a deep plot which unfolds with every episode, and likable, flawed characters who develop and mature throughout the story (Yes, Lust does come to mind...among others, like Ed and Roy).Plus, it has historical undertones - as we all know, alchemy in our world only existed in the medieval era and was not as magical or as versatile as alchemy in Amestris.
And of course, the movie takes place mostly in Munich, Germany, as Hitler rose to power.
There is so much about this anime I want to say, from how it has a little bit of every genre - like comedy and drama; there are episodes that are extremely light-hearted (episode 37 anyone?) and those that are really serious and sad even (episode 7 T_T), to how the plot goes on; not too fast, and yet, not too dragging.
FMA is awesome. I would recommend this to any anime fan - that is, any fan who can stand the violence. But it's not as bloody as other animes, which is also another plus. Anyone who hasn't watched FMA is missing half their life. ;)"

what do you usually do when you know you don't pass the exam ???

how long u watch tv?
11 months 4 weeks ago
"Not too long, usually, unless a good movie is on, or if my favorite TV shows come one after the other (for example, there was a time when Animax aired Gun X Sword, and one of its time slots came after Heroes, which would of course, air on another channel). Or when there are marathons I don't want to miss (there are FMA marathons, 4 episodes back-to-back on Animax every weekend, usually).I spend more time on the comp. XD"

How do you choose your manga?
1 year 1 hour ago
"Whenever I browse manga, I tend to scan the summary on the back of each volume. The characters and art reel me in, and the plot keeps me there - that's how it goes. ^_^ And it also helps if the manga had an anime adaptation that I have already watched or found interesting. I got into manga through anime. XD"View
How does your friends feel about mangas?
1 year 1 hour ago
"Some of my friends like manga (and also watch anime); the others aren't too fond of it, but don't hate it. We collect manga volumes, but sometimes we also depend on scans. Where I live, manga is pretty expensive, and almost like a status symbol among anime/manga fans.As for me, I only have 6 volumes to date (4 FMA, 1 xxxHoLiC and 1 Tsubasa RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE) and hope to complete them before collecting other manga.
We love to discuss the latest chapters of manga and their stories and characters in general. I tend to fangirl quite a bit even in the company of people who aren't too fond of such, but they don't mind - I think they've gotten used to it. XD"

"Thank you very much! ^_^ And I fangirl many guys who don't show much emotion. XDDDDDD Maybe that's why Seiran just made me fangirl him at first sight.But I like many of the other guys too. And I must learn how to spell their names right, because Animax ain't pronouncing them right. They pronounced Shuurei as Shirley. o_o;;;
People during those times wouldn't name their daughters Shirley. Sheesh. XD"

"I agree that Rin and Archer are a perfect match for each other. XD Though I'm still torn as to who to pair with Shirou - Saber, or maybe Sakura Matou. Speaking of Sakura, she didn't get much screen time, except for the time...My favorite female character is Saber - I have to agree with the rest of you. I mean, Saber's no stereotypical damsel in distress, even though Shirou has a tendency to treat her like one. I favor kick-butt, smart girls, most of the time. XD As for male...Archer and Assassin are tied. I wish Assassin also got more screen time...ah well."

Why do you get the Original Sound Track OST??
1 year 3 days ago
"Many anime OSTs are very beautiful and have a wide range of sounds and pieces you can listen to when you're not watching the anime show. Not only do I want to support the talented composers who make them (like Yuki Kajiura, Michiru Oshima and Koutarou Nakagawa, three of my favorite anime music composers, as you may have known from some of my recent forum posts), but I just downright love the music, and instrumentals relax me especially when I'm studying or stressed out. "I think the answer is yes. ^_^Butbutbut DVDs make the world go round T_T Anyhow, I can't download videos right now; I'm on a family PC and it can't take the strain, which is why my dad has told me to lay off the episodes for a while. Which means I'll have to wait for a while till I can finally watch SM in Japanese. I'm itching to hear what they sound like right now. XD
Excuse me while I go fangirl Seiran. XD He's my most favorite character so far."

I can't wait any longer for the next chapter! *melts* XD"

Instrumental or Lyrical?
1 year 5 days ago
"It all depends on the music, and also my mood. If I like the lyrics and they're more than just lines repeated over and over or those clichéd lines that have been inserted into every song ever written, then I'll listen to those songs. When I'm looking for inspiration for a dramatic or romantic fanfic, or just feeling a little down or emotional, I go for emo or cheesy lyrics. XD But not too emo or too cheesy, of course. But usually, when I try to relax or study, I lean more towards instrumentals, like anime background music. Some of them still have vocals (Yuki Kajiura's, especially, and a few of Koutarou Nakagawa's have chants) though, but they're still worth listening to nonetheless.
Sometimes I'll prefer to listen to lyrical, and other times I'll do a lot of instrumental. It really depends, because I like a lot of kinds of music, and I'm not too picky."

New iPods
1 year 5 days ago
"I got a silver iPod Nano as a high school graduation gift from my parents, and I like it a lot. It's small and thin and easily fits into my pocket (not as easily as the Shuffle, of course, but still compact).Anyhow, as long as I can cram all my favorite songs into it, it's fine. I don't need another newfangled player as long as my current half-year-old iPod works and can do whatever it's supposed to do."
