After months of work, chanelqueen17 has created a gorgeous scene of Alice and Oz from Pandora Hearts, using scans that didn't even feature both characters together. Even after spending so much time on matching the details of the characters to their new looks, chanelqueen17 didn't stop there and went all out on the background too! This wallpaper definitely needs to be seen!

"Made this vector of the Harada sisters, with posters taped to the wall behind them of Dark and Daisuke. I like the posters the way they are now, but dhias suggested making 4 smaller images and filling the background a bit more. I tried it, and to me it just looked too crowded, more like just a collage of images instead of pictures taped to a wall.I also thought of vectoring some images of Dark and Dai instead of using stock ones, but I wanted them to really stand out against the blank wall, the way posters usually do.
I'm happy with the way it is now, but I wanted some more opinions on how it looks before submitting it. So far all the opinions I've gotten from friends have been split.

"Jealous? If you'd seen some of the crap backgrounds I made for it, you wouldn't be! :DI followed a vectoring tutorial at Vectorage but there was quite a bit still I had to figure out for myself, most of which involved learning to use Illustrator. I'm no expert, but if anyone needs help figuring this out, I'd be happy to help."

"Thanks, yeah I did use Illustrator. It took some getting used to, but before long I liked it better than Photoshop, at least for some things.I guess I could have tried making some kind of abstract background, but I wanted it to match the scene from the show, which is a posh hotel. Has a pool with waterfalls, cabana, tree-covered mountain backdrop, the works... well beyond my abilities. :)"

"This took me *forever*, being the first one. Scanned the insert of my Madlax V3 disc. I've tried 3 times to make a suitable background, but it wasn't even worth looking at. "Yeah I was playing with the size, was a tad too large. Sometimes I have to just stare at it a while before I see what I did wrong. I changed the font of the subtitle like you said, and it does look better.Edit: Newer image below"

"Thanks for the tips, and the link. I had been looking for that info, but didn't have much luck in finding it. Everytime I searched for "clean scan" or something similar, I always got directions on cleaning the optics of a scanner. :)Anyways, here is the latest one, completely remade using the new tricks I learned. :D The background colors are much more vivid, and the grainy look is gone. I lightened the brass just a shade, and added some text.

"Think I found the perfect brass keyhole image at that site, thanks for the link. :) Working on it now, coming out nice imo. Will upload the new one shortly.And here it is. I darkened the foreground using brightness/contrast adjusted to -50, and darkened the background with a solid black layer at 10% opacity. I used the rectangle and elliptical tools to cut out the keyhole, and used the blur tool to smooth out her exposed skin and the solid parts of her nighty. I applied the gaussian blur to the foreground with a pixel radius of 4.0.

The rest of the room looks slighty "grainy" to me, haven't a clue how I could smooth all that out, without losing all the detail. Any suggestions how to do that, or what the image needs in general? Too dark/light/blurry? Would some barely-there text look good somewhere?

"I scanned my Gilgamesh dvd to try and make a wall from it, cause I liked the image so much. I know this is extremely simple, but it still took me like 3 hours to do, as my artistic skills are very limited. Still, I think the simplicity fits the image perfectly, it's supposed to be a peephole. Added the text to fill the sides a little.Any suggestions on how to improve it? Think with a little touching-up here and there, it would be worth uploading, or just keep it for myself? :)

"Hi folks. Linked here from another site recently, usually that ends in disaster, but this time it seems to have been a plus. :)Just a dude, nothing special, I enjoy watching anime more than most anything on the tube or what comes out of Hollywood, with a few choice exceptions.
Some of my favs are: GITS: SAC <-#1, Elfen Lied, Kiddy Grade, Full Metal Panic & Alchemist, Noir, Madlax, DN Angel, Haibane, Azumanga, Otogi Zoshi, Love Hina, Chrono Crusade... to name a few, and not in that order except for SAC. I'll stop now before I end up listing everything I've ever seen. :)
Anyway thanks for letting me speak, gotta get that nasty "we would like you to start contributing towards the site and enjoy the features other than wallpaper downloads" message off my screen..."
