This wallpaper captures the urban essence that proliferated the art of Ghost in the Shell in every incarnation of the series. Phill does an amazing job of capturing a moment of surrealism.
While there are a few, stray building angles and shadows, you find that your eye forgives the minor details and instead focuses on the overall scene that is larger than life, with lights trailing off into infinity.

Which anime do you think has the deepest meaning? the best morals/themes?
1 year 3 weeks ago
"Alright, I tend to avoid calling anime 'deep'. Depth is a totally subjective perception of things and to label something 'deep' actually cheapens what it really meant, or so I think. I mean, when it comes to anime, which is a surprisingly expressive medium, it's really how the audience responds that matters. Whatever you're watching might be the shallowest, most nonsensical blather in the whole wide world, but as long as you truly, truly enjoy it, does it really matter if it's deep or not? Does it really matter if it had good morals? Frankly, it's all in your head with the themes and meanings and morals. And that's why anime is so damn good, it's all in my head. It's not the show, it's the viewer that gives it the meaning and the depth. So, to answer, "Which anime do you think has the deepest meaning?" I'd have to say none. They are what they are, animation and nothing more.
However, I will provide an answer to which anime really appealed to me emotionally:
Cowboy Bebop tops all of them. Berserk is up there, definitely...Evangelion was all talk to me. Black Lagoon was good...Gurren Lagann, Darker Than Black are airing now. The list isn't extensive, or maybe I just can't think of them on the top of my head.
Anyways, there's my bit of blah blah blah..."

[Anime Discussion] Gurren Lagann

"Gurren Lagann is the only reason left to live. I just watched episode 25, it topped probably every other episode. That's the thing about Gurren Lagann, it keeps on getting better and better and better and better. It almost feels like they're throwing in people to die just for the epic hell of it, but damn, it's working. Twenty five was brilliant."View

"Sometime back, I think Havoc said eating was just a habit from the South American days. As for his obeisance, it has been revealed yet and is probably the crux of the story now that it's at episode twenty three. I always thought he paid the ultimate price, like having his sister taken away, or something.Just a note, I love this show, it's probably, along with Gurren Lagann, the best series I've seen in a while. BONES has a knack for turning poignant and emotional series. RahXephon, despite being somewhat weak near the end was a great show. Their anime adaptation of Hagaren was great. And now, with something like DtB under their belt, I'll be expecting greater things from BONES. Also, Yoko Kanno = God."

"Insane dictator. Just to see what the heck it was like to be able to snap my fingers and have everything happen. Invade that country, kill that guy, buy some flowers. And probably meet some incredibly sad, pathetic end, but that's part of being a dictator. And then, maybe, maybe a bird, just to see what it's like to fly."

Lonely..
1 year 3 weeks ago
"Um, I'd have to say no. Being lonely sorta sucks, yeah. I mean, I'm under the impression the basis of human life is interactions with others. Life is like some sort of interconnected organic version of the internet. In fact, the internet, aside from its military origins and beginnings, can be seen as just a personification of a very human element. Calling it human might be somewhat misguided because, I think, animals share this trait as well, but to flock to other people and seek their company is a pretty nature thing. "View

Swords or Guns?

"Guns! Guns! Guns! Guns are better, guns are better, guns kill people better, guns are cooler, guns are more efficient, guns get the job done easier. Guns are just better. Cmon, when you want to assassinate someone, do you want a .50 caliber sniper rifle or a sword? If you've ever watch Black Lagoon, that last showdown was pretty awesome. Revy against Gin (right?), guns against sword and in the end, the sword guy lost becayse of something Rock said. XD"

Is there a definite right or wrong?
1 year 1 month ago
"Of course not, right and wrong are the most indefinite things in the world. There is no right or wrong, just what is. Right and wrong are just standards set by other people to justify their actions. Hitler thought his ideas and methods were right. From other people's point of view, what Hitler did was probably the wrongest thing in the history of wrong. Genocide? Gas chambers? But, there are still people out there who endorse this view. Like just about everything else in the world, it's what you think, it's what you believe, it's how you understand the world. There's no black and white division in the world, in fact, there's a hideously large amount of gray. That's where most things fall. "View

What would you do?

"I don't really care who dies. Kill the school teacher, kill the old lady. What if I just forget about the entire thing and he can kill both? Am I really going to worry over some silly decision that probably won't even affect me later on? If I do make a decision, I'm most likely more at risk than not. If he had said something like, if you don't make a decision, I'm going to kill you, then, I still won't care but I'll make a choice. See, both these people are civil servants. If I save the school teacher, she'll be able to teach and children will be able to learn. If you save the old lady, she'll be able to keep donating to charities. How pretty or how blonde the school teacher is doesn't matter. How long the old has to live doesn't matter. You decision in the end reflects what you believe in, what you value and what not. Honestly, I'd save the old lady. Just because other people are saying that her life doesn't matter. That's just stupid, so what if she's on the verge of death, it's not like her life is worth less than the school teacher. Same can be said for the school teacher, but people are picking to save her anyways."View

New GUNDAM Series

"Judging from the fall season shows, Gundam 00 is probably the only thing I'm looking forward to. It's also the first show in the normal timeline. The characters look nice, a lot of seiyuus I like are working on it. The character designs are from the person who did Loveless and it's directed by the same guy from FMA. Makes it pretty interesting and definitely worth watching, for me anyways. And, it freaks me out slightly that they named a guy Allelujah. Oh wells, XD!"View
Do you live an interesting life?

"I say 'eh' every morning I wake up, because life is pretty 'eh'. The only interesting thing to me, in life and about my life, is anime and the second world war. I love watching anime, I love reading about war. it's pretty much all I want to do. And books are interesting. Life, however, is not that interesting. My life is pretty boring. Wake up, go to school, come home. Wake up, go to school, come home. Watch a movie, read a book once in a while, play some ball, do it all over again. Same thing, different day.."View
In the wizard of Oz, the tin man was looking for a heart, the scarecrow a brain, and the lion courage. What are you looking for?
1 year 1 month ago
"To say that I'm looking for truth would just be cheesy, but that's essentially what I'm looking for. The elusive truth, the answer to life. What am I doing here, why am I here, what's my purpose, what am I, what's death, what's life, what's out there. Why!? I mean, they figured out how the heart works, they figured out how to utilize electricity, they figured out a lot of things, but no one's given a good answer as to why it works. Why does your heart beat? Why do we think? Why do we have instincts? Why did civilization progress? Why can't we disprove or prove for that matter, the existence of God? What's the universe and all that. I'm just looking for answer. "View
Study Habits!
1 year 1 month ago
"Bluntly, I don't take notes. I discard them when school is over. The only notes I save are for classes I didn't do too well in, or I'm going to be taking again next year. Like mandarin, I keep my notes from mandarin because, well, I need them later! And physics, I'm taking AP next year so I saved my notes from last year.Good study habits, well, I guess you should take notes, for one. Go home and reread them, for another and do your homework. It's just a matter of making effort. I don't make effort, I dislike most subjects. I'm good with history and English. I hate math, I'm okay with science.
You should really go over your notes before a test. Make flashcards or something. If you need to memorize terms or foreign language vocabulary, it's best to just read them out loud or write them over and over again."

what do you think about death note ending (for people who already finished the anime)
1 year 1 month ago
"Light was my favorite character and in the manga he had the most pathetic death ever. I'm glad that in the anime, at least, his end felt more dignified. In the manga, he goes crazy and starts begging everyone to save him. I mean, Light, Yagami Light, begging for mercy? Begging to live? That's not right! I really wanted Light to win, it's impossible, but it would've been nice if Kira won in the end. I liked L, I was kind of sad that he died, but it had to happen. Light's victory was satisfying but I could tell that he wasn't going to have a good end. Neither Near nor Mello, or both of them together, felt like a good enough opponent to beat Light. I mean, cmon! Light should've kicked their sorry behinds! Ugh, it was so pathetic to watch Light die. At least, at least have him go out with a bang. His brilliant last words, "Damn it." and he dies. The anime was better, I liked the anime better, a rare case because I always prefer the manga to the anime. The anime ending felt nice, the sentimental running though the sunset on the verge of death thing was a nice touch. I hated it, but liked it better than the manga, which I hate more, not vehemently, just slightly displeased with the outcome."View

how do you fight stress?
1 year 1 month ago
"Fighting stress huh?Um, the most conventional weapon is just to go to sleep. Roll over and sleep on it, it's extremely useful, but momentary. When you wake up, you're probably going to be even more stressed. Specially if it's a school project due the next day and you wake at four in the morning. It's not how early you woke up, but it's the fact that you've only two hours (assuming you leave at six) to finish a research paper.
You can also try playing some video games. Fighting games or first person shooters are good for venting stress and anger. I mean, doing a 20 move combo on some guy in Street Fighter would make you feel pretty good. Going on a killing spree, multiple killing sprees, in Halo is also pretty good for stress relief. Well, that's what I did. I stopped playing Halo on the PC, actually, I stopped playing games in general. But Halo 3 is out in less than a month and I think COD4 is coming out soon. I played COD3, but I wasn't that into it, they changed a lot of things, I'm only on the second American level. Gears of War, I suck at GoW, but the graphics, the gore, that chainsaw of a machine gun makes it pretty good stress relief.
There's a place in Spain, my friend tells me, that lets you smash, with bats and what not, broken electronics. Just imagining that makes stress go away for me. It'd be so nice to drive a metal bat into a PC monitor and hearing the plastic and hardware crack and watching it smash into bits. And the, doing it over and over and over again till you'd can't even recognize the parts. Yeah, I'm pretty stressed out sometimes.
Or, well, I do this, write. I write, it helps. Or, if it's really that bad, get wasted. You never know."

What do you do when you're bored in class?
1 year 1 month ago
"Back in seventh grade, I played gameboy under the table. I beat Pokemon Emerald in my math and science class. Same teacher, legally blind, was a really nice guy, just couldn't worth a damn. Had to read all the papers about an inch from his face. He almost caught me once, but I carry a messenger back so, when he asked me what I was holding under the table, I showed my gameboy in the bag and held that up instead.None of my teachers now are legally blind so it's really hard to get away with playing games. But school requires using TI-83s or 84s and those have games on them. It's pretty retard, come to think about it, playing pixelated Mario in physics, but it's pretty addictive. Tetris is also pretty entertaining, halfway through learning Hooke's law you'd be your best friend's high score. I also doodle a lot, I write fanfiction in the margins, I fold handouts into paper cranes, sometimes I even read, only if I sit in the back of class. iPods are banned, so are cellphones so it's risky to have those out in the open."

What would be your "Contract Power" ? And the "Conscience" you must pay?
1 year 1 month ago
"It's either the Roy Mustang finger snap "I can set things on fire" or, to fly. I mean, what's not to love about setting things on fire in a snap, literally? Need a light? Snap! And, I've always liked flying. Both mediums would be air. Mustang uses oxygen to transmute, I'll do the same, without the gloves and the circle. And, if there's no air, what am I flying through? As for the obeisance, hm, I guess something ridiculous will have to do for the Roy finger snap thing, like...folding laundry, or buttoning and unbuttoning shirts, maybe reciting the dictionary, folding paper cranes, churning butter? For flying, I remember the first episode, that guy had to break his fingers. God, I'd hate to do that. Um, can I please eat three quarts of ice cream and suffer from obesity, heart disease and other health problems instead? I'd suffer heart disease to fly! "

What do you think is most important in an anime?
1 year 1 month ago
"I'd have to say it's a combination of everything. The characters have to be good, the plot has to be entertaining, the art has to be enjoyable. It's a whole slew of things, a checklist I need to answer this question. However, the biggest and most important aspect of an anime is presentation, delivery. Take Claymore for example. The plot's trite, the characters aren't that interesting, although highly sympathetic, the art is so-so and the pacing is off sometimes. Not to mention it's diverging from the manga and I'm skeptical of the anime ending. I haven't read the manga yet, but people are displeased with the way the anime is progressing. But what makes Claymore so interesting and why I persist in downloading an anime with only girls (Rigald is good looking, =D) is the delivery. There's a certain attractiveness to the whole show. It's so edgy and unpredictable, even if you know exactly what will happen.
All right, that aside, the other most important aspect of an anime, the hot guys! Yeah, hot guys, guns and mecha, that'll be my motto one day. Gundam Wing was a good anime because it had all three. It's a good anime for a lot more than just shallow aesthetics, but that was the reason I watched it. I can't call Wing deep, but it touched on some pretty heavy issues.
Anyways, I'm really just in it for the pretty boys."

If you could live in an anime would you?
1 year 1 month ago
"Well, the bit about leaving everyone I care and love about makes it a bit difficult to say yes. However, however, I'm extremely, extremely tempted. But in the end, I'd have to decline the offer. Two reasons: one, there are too many animes I want to be in! Too many characters I want to be! How the heck am I supposed to choose? Two, no matter how much I love the animated world, I can't really just leave behind my mother (as much as I want to.)However, since we're speaking hypothetically, I'd either want to be Cowboy Bebop, Gurren Lagann or Full Metal Alchemist. Cowboy Bebop is my favorite anime, hands down, there's no competition there. I'd love to have that smooth Yoko Kanno soundtrack as background music for my life. Character wise, I'd have to be Ed. Well, Faye isn't my type and Julia dies in the end, so I'll stick to the quirky, pliant Ed. Gurren Lagann is my favorite show right. It's so kick-ass and epic, I'd (if I can come back to the real world) give up my current life for that show in a heart beat. I'd be Yoko, yeah. Cmon, that sniper rifle makes life worth living. And Full Metal Alchemist, I just love Hagaren. The manga is genius and Roy is so darn good looking. I'd be Riza, ;P."

D.Gray Man

"D.Gray-Man is a better manga. I started watching the anime and the first season was really good. I loved the characters, Allen Walker, Rinali and everyone. There were a couple of pretty good arcs, the one with the clock was incredibly memorable. I wasn't that interested in Crowley but his character turned out to be pretty interesting as well. I watched up to 37, being impatient I read the manga. The manga, the manga is so much better. The manga is incredible. After reading up to around chapter 120 something, I went back to watch the new episode of the anime. There were so many filler episodes! They gave an entire episode to Daisa, who died in the next! Whatever happened to Suman and that whole epic journey to Japan? They're not completely deviating from the manga plot line, but the anime is a mess. There's a cat Noah, what about the twins? What about Walker's new, kick-ass Innocence? As a side note spoiler, Cross Marian finally showed up in the latest chapter of the manga. "View
