"Graphics can be good, can be bad depending on the game.

Let's say we play games like FPS, action game, or racing game. I guess graphic is important, since you don't want to get a jagged edge on your Murcielago (if you're playing a racing game).

Why we bother to get great graphic card like Radeon PCI Express series or GeForce? Because we want to get a beautiful graphics! In computer games, there are more FPS and strategy game. FPS games need a beautiful graphic.

How about RPG games? I played Final Fantasy 6 because this game is great in its gameplay and storyline. But how about the graphic? It's 2D graphic, still using sprites, 2D flat background. Can you call this as a bad graphic? No, because in its age it's a great game. But how about Disgaea, Atelier series? It's 2D, using characters sprite for the animation. But yeah, this game is still challenging and fun to play.

Now, how about the best graphics in the history? Final Fantasy X, X-2, and XII have great graphic, especially in their FMVs. Great graphics will only make you say "wow... great!" without thinking the other fun factor in the game itself."

Why do you get the Original Sound Track OST??

"I never buy OST. I always download it since it's hard to get the OSTs in my country. Yeah, i know it's illegal, but that's how it is. I can't enjoy the OST without downloading them.

I download OST when i heard some songs in the anime / game that sounded great. And i just think "oooh, the music is great, i think i have to download this". So sometimes, i downloaded all the soundtracks just for 1 song only. When i watch Air Gear in Animax-Southeast Asia channel, i heard a song and it rocks. The song keep ringing in my ears. So i downloaded the whole soundtracks just for this song."

"I finished this anime, and i think it has a unique romance story.

At first i think it will be a normal romance story. But the plot keep twisting. First, the mysterious girl is not a human, and she's just like vampire, can't walk outside because of the sun.

Then, another yaka appeared, and then the universal truths were the one that made me shocked. Yeah, i guess this anime has the sense of surprise. Maybe some of you are used to be surprised like this, but hey... this anime really giving me the surprise sensation.

It's kinda funny watching Aono fight using paper, she reminded me of ROD characters, where the characters fight using paper."

Certain Animes you hate and like and why?

"Actually, there's one genre that i hate and try to avoid. It's HAREM.

In most harem, you'll find some elements like:
1. A boy which is stupid, not very good in appearance, not very smart, indecisive, but all girls always like him.
2. Many2 cute girls, but all of them always love the main characters.

Stuffs like Ichigo 100%, Shuffle, and the other harems is bad. I know that at some part of Shakugan no Shana, i really hate Yuuji. He's just became a one of the "harem boys".


For now, i tried to change my interest. I'll try some anime that have these elements:
1. Loli and moe girls: Nanoha is the best answer for this. I know that you won't find any loli girls with bunch of action in other animes.
2. Yuri: Strawberry Panic, Otoboku (does it count?), Marimite. Yeah... I rather get bored of hetero pairing, so why don't we try another genre.
3. Unique storyline: Haruhi is one of my favorite. It's unique in some ways.
And which is why, Lucky Star is my recent favorite right now."

"Manga for me is:
1. Artworks, masterpiece, or what ever you mention it. It's visual art, with great drawings.
2. Stuff to collect. Collecting manga is fun, and you can show to your friend what's the meaning of manga collection.
3. Stuff to read. Of course, the main purpose of manga is to be read. The question is, do you enjoy reading manga or not?
4. Stuff for spare time. Do you have any spare time? Enjoy your manga in your spare time.

For some people, manga is raw material of making wallpaper / other digital arts. For me, i like drawing fanarts, so i read manga first to get the inspiration."

The Tales Series(Abyss, Symphonia, Eternia etc.)

"Of all the tales series, i only played Tales series that released in PS2 and released in English version, except Tales of Eternia (or Tales of Destiny 2 in English).

Tales of the Abyss is my favorite, since i can play it 2 players with my brother (in battle). And since this is the best English version for Tales series in PS2. Legendia is the worst Tales series ever. Some people also said that Legendia doesn't count as Tales series because it isn't made by Namco Tales Studio.

I know that some Tales series like Symphonia, Destiny 2 (PS2 version), Phantasia, and some other Tales series are not released in English version. I don't have any chance to play those games.

I also heard that Tales of Destiny 1 will be remade in PS2, and i think it will also come out in Japanese version only."

So many Haruhi references....

"This anime has so many refrences to Haruhi so far. I've watched Lucky Star up to episode 12, and yeah, i think Lucky Star have the most references to Haruhi other than any other animes.

If you remember, there is references to Marimite in episode 7 (gokigenyou, and fixing tie), some Full Metal Panic in some episodes, poster of Shuffle (Konata's room and in shop), and many more.

But yeah, if you notice, i think Haruhi have the most reference from this anime:
- Hare hare Yukai in epi 2 where Konata played drum games in game center.
- Konata watching Haruhi in TV show, ad she said something about Nagato Yuki in Someday in The Rain, Haruhi's episode.
- Figurine of Mikuru and Haruhi girls in bunny costume poster in the scene where Kagami and Tsukasa came to Konata's room (forgot which epi).
- I heard about epi 19/20 (i dunno, since i haven't watch epi 19-20). There's a scene where Haruhi is running in the beach and then she showed a can drink.

Wow, yeah. I know that the popularity of Lucky Star came from Kyoto Animation. And KyoAni themself got the popularity from Haruhi. But i don't think that's not the main reason. Looking at so many Haruhi references make me think that KyoAni is looking forward to the making of Haruhi season 2.

Learning to Like Bad Anime Music

"I often download songs of the anime that i've watched. OP, ED, insert songs. But i don't download some bad anime songs. As an anime fans, over than 60% of my songs i enjoy are anime songs.

I guess Higurashi's songs feel bad in my ears. But please don't take this as an offense. Hey... i too am a Higurashi fans, i just don't like the song, that's all.

Lucky Star ED, especially Konata's part is special, i guess, since it's about Lucky Star characters in karaoke room. It's a unique concept of ED i guess. To make this realistic, they used "bad quality" (noise, ambience) to make the karaoke scene "real". But we're talking about the song, and they're very bad... The old mecha anime songs...

DN Angel is another case for me. When i heard the song for the first time, i can't really enjoy it. Something is missing, i guess... But after hearing for several times, i kind of used to it, and enjoy it normally."

Kingdom Hearts Manga

"I've read all the volume you mentioned above. Kingdom Hearts 1, Chain of Memories, and Kingdom Hearts 2 (vol 1 only).

Of course, if you want to enjoy certain battle, you should try the game. But the best thing i got here is Chain of Memories. I tried Chain of Memories by using GBA emulator, and i know it's pain in the *** to beat this game. Collecting card, creating decks, well... it's kind of hard. But Chain of Memories itself hold the key to answer your question in the first part of the Kingdom Hearts 2.

That's why, the manga of Chain of Memories is very useful to fill in the plot hole if you don't play KH:CoM in GBA. If you check in gameFAQs, you'll found story FAQs in Chain of Memories. You know, there's a lot of people who don't want to play Chain of Memories, but they try to find out how the story is after they played first part of Kingdom Hearts 2."

Odin Sphere [PS2]

"I've played this game and i've beaten 2 characters.

There are total of 6 books you can play. Every characters have their own specialties. Since you haven't finished the first book, then i won't spoil the next characters.

The story of almost all characters can be said a melodramatic story. So sad, yet it has great ending for each story. You'll see connection of their stories between each others.

The gameplay system itself it's not really bad, but well... If you don't like the system, i guess you can't stand to play this game till the end. I say this game is hard. Need some time to get the hang of the system.

Every character book need around 5-10 hours gameplay time to beat, depending on how you're doing, straight to the story or levelling and revisit the previous stage.

The best elements here is the artwork. The character design, and any other artworks are good. It looks artistic and well drawn."

Those who wait for manga

"Well, there are 2 kind of waiting here. And both of course waiting for manga.

First, waiting for scanlator team to come up with their work. Normally for popular manga like Bleach, One Piece, or Naruto, it's worth 1 week of waiting. But the project scanlation team that don't have many staffs will make you wait for longer time.
I myself have experienced this with Negima.

Second, is waiting for the manga released and licensed in my country. Sometime good company will get the manga released till the end. But i also experienced some manga stopped in just 2 volumes.

If you hate waiting, then why don't you try something new. But i guess if you like manga, then don't just stopped with that 1 manga only. Try another while waiting your primary manga."

"If you're talking about RPG games, then yes. It's boring to replay the game from the beginning, so that's why try to find good RPG with great replay value. So that you still have the spirit to beat the game from the beginning.

Or try to play online game. Games like O2Jam and Audition, or PangYa are games that you can play until you get bored to death. MMORPG is other choice, since there's no "fixed" goal you can have here.

The other things that you can do with the games you've beaten is, try to achieve 100% completion. I think, if you just beat a game and put it away, you still can work out the rest to reach 100% completion. I got 100% completion in Kingdom Hearts 2, and it really took me long time, even longer than playing the actual storyline."

Final Fantasy VII: Dirge of Cerberus

"At first i got this game Japanese version, it was a totally hard game with hard control. But when i got the US version, they made it easier.

First time when this game comes out, there's so many people compared this game with Devil May Cry series. But the comeout is different. DMC is a Hack and Slash action game, but this game, FF7:DoC is a FPS / shooter action game.

What's interesting in this game is the weapon mod. The story is somewhat sidestories of the FF7. If you're interested with Vincent, Hojo, and Lucretia, then you have to follow this story.

The CG animation is great, of course the FMV have equal quality with FF7 Advent Children CG."

How do you determine if an anime is good?

"At first glance, i'll see the characters and arts. If it's good, then i'll look at the anime. Or because of the popularity like Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya or Kanon 2006.

After that, i usually see what's in the anime, is it relevant with its genre.
If it's about action, i'd like to see great battle.
If it's about drama / romance, it's something that can move my heart, or even made me cry (like Kanon 2006).
If it's comedy, obviously it has to be funny enough to made me go ROFL.

And the last thing that i can say whether it's good or not is based or not, it's the ending. You know, ending can greatly affect people's feeling about the anime."

"It's just a retelling the story of the game, plus some nice side stories.

Overall, i really like following Suikoden series (the game), especially the story. So i like reading this.

But i don't know how the manga will keep up with 108 characters, since the some of the characters are optional characters in the game.

Anime Characters That are Similar But are From Different Series

"Yeah, the main characters' team in Yu Yu Hakusho and Flame of Recca share the same personalities, except Hiei and Fuko.

Recca and Yusuke, Domon and Kuwabara, Mikagami and Kurama.

If we're talking about Nagato Yuki from Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu, in anime world, there are many characters that have silent personalities, like Vanilla form Galaxy Angel, Fate Testarossa in the first Nanoha, Rei Ayanami from Neon Genesis Evangelion, Mai Kawasumi from Kanon, and even Tabitha from Zero no Tsukaima. All of them is silent, but they have their own "closed" personalities.

Another type of characters is tsundere. Shana and Yuuji (Shakugan no Shana) have a lot of similarities with Saito and Louise (Zero no Tsukaima), they both have tsundere relationship (and also the same VA).

If series are made by same creator, like Love Hina and Negima (by Ken Akamatsu), many of the characters have same personalities (and even physical similarities). Asuna and Naru share the same personalities, and even lifetime experience."

1. The main characters die, or lost, or gone somewhere.
2. Where the characters suddenly have a great power that pop out of the nowhere.
3. Don't have conclusion, still keeping me in curiosity

I just watched up to episode 3 and i think i got attached to this anime. The element of mysteries, combined with romance and friendship, i think that makes a good combination.

"Anime is an entertainment, useful for filling my spare time, when i have nothing to do (and have no game to beat). But overall, i think it's just hobby.

But i also agree when you say, anime is an art. Looking at anime with different styles of art each others, made me want to try every interesting anime."
