"There's been a lot of good suggestions. Here are the ones I like (as well as some of my own):

-I agree that vectors should be separate from scans, just to make them easier to spot and find. Also, I think that vectors should earn more papers than scans (but not necessarily more papers than walls) because they are more labor-intensive. To keep people from trying to spam with bad vectors, I think that the standards for them should stay pretty stringent.

-I like the paper donation idea not just so that people could give papers to individual members, but also for members to be able to sponsor contests for the entire site or for their groups. For example, a group could sponsor a wall contest with the winner getting papers donated by other group members.

-I think that similar to the gallery section, you should be able to request new titles be added to the anime section. Also, a nice thing for the beyond v6 would be to have a similar manga section.

-I'd like to see the friend/watchlist be revamped a bit. It'd be cool to get a daily update (as opposed to PMs for every single thing) with everything your friend has done for that day ("blank" has posted ## scans, ## wallpapers, and ## entries on his/her journal).

-Lastly, I'd like to see a highlighted scan/vector on the frontpage. Although walls take a whole lot more work, there are some excellent scanners here who go above and beyond the minimum requirements and not just in resolution. It might also be cool to do that to highlight something unique and rare that may have been overlooked."

Re-watching anime after 3-5 years.

"The only stuff I tend to rewatch all the time are movies. However, I sometimes rewatch series when I can coax someone to watch them with me. My sister likes some anime (but is not really an anime fan) and there are times where I can get her to watch something I've already seen. Also, my mom is pretty open-minded about stuff as I got her to watch Cowboy Bebop and she usually seeks out anime movies on TV.

"I've really been enjoying this show. The reason I'm enjoying it is because I think the whole thing is being done with a very subtle wink and a nod.

The story is standard stuff and what looks to be the driving force of the story (the relationship between humans and dragons) is pretty much a grown-up version of the Digimon/Partner relationship when you think about it.

There's plenty to bait fans with the (really nice) character designs and the character relationships. There are also some subtle references and interesting lines here and there. I'd be really surprised if the creators hadn't watched/read Azumanga Daioh after seeing Sieglinde's (sp?) backstory.

Once I stopped taking this show seriously (and realized that the creators may actually know how ridiculous this show is), I got a lot more enjoyment out of it. "

Anime Neglect?

"There aren't really any anime I've forgot that I own, but there are some that I question why I bought it. I own the original Orphen series on DVD and, I haven't looked at it in years. I sort of regret buying that one. I also sometimes regret buying series disc by disc when the insanely cheap boxes come out.

I've been meaning to revisit some shows I really enjoyed like FLCL, Azumanga Daioh, Fruits Basket, and Cowboy Bebop.

As for fansubs, let's just say that I'm more of a collector than a watcher. I have whole series on my computer that have gone completely unwatched."

"I thought it was okay. The direction seemed really disjointed, but the music was cool and the racing scenes were very well-done. Also, I liked the voices. With Kingdom Hearts and now IGPX, I wonder if Haley Joel Osment takes these roles because he's really an anime/video game geek."

Great Series, Poor Endings

"Kare Kano's ending annoyed the hell out of me. All it did was make me very anxious to read the manga, which is also what Fruits Basket's ending did. However, I'm surprised no one has mentioned Gasaraki. I enjoyed the methodical way the show built up intrigue and mystery over the course of the show but by the end...I don't really know what the hell happened. It disappointed me greatly."

Paper system? Hate it?

"There was a point when I liked MT a little better than AP. Now, with MT's new elitist, terrible and deriative "credits" system, AP is wayy in front. Those who complain(ed) about AP's system don't realize how easy it is to understand and deal with. You participate and contribute quality stuff and you are rewarded. The big thing that really separates the two systems is that you are only penalized if something isn't up to snuff. The New MT has made me appreciate AP that much more."

Harry Potter Anime??

"I think Harry Potter could be adapted into an anime...but it depends on the type of anime. Frankly, the only way it would work would be as a TV series. It could be really cool if each season of the show was based on a book and by it being a series, they could stay very close to the book without the time constraints of movies. As for anime not working because it's based on books...that's ridiculous. Apart from Vampire Hunter D, many anime movies and TV shows are based on books. Some TV series examples include Crest/Banner Of The Stars, Orphen, Mirage Of Blaze, and (I believe) 12 Kingdoms. "

"It's tough to pick between so many movies, so I'll say that, for now, it's a tie between Spirited Away and Grave Of The Fireflies. Grave Of The Fireflies is the only animated movie I have ever watched that just about made me cry. "

"I collect manga. I have a variety of titles, though I mostly collect shoujo. I have all of Kodocha and Azumanga Daioh and all 10 released volumes of the Ragnarok mahnwa. I'm also 11 volumes deep into Kare Kano, 15 volumes deep into GTO, 5 volumes deep into Rebirth (mahnwa), 3 volumes deep into Hana-Kimi, 5 volumes deep into Fruits Basket, and I just bought the first volume of Merupuri. I also own Batman: Child Of Dreams, a manga take on Batman by Kia Asamiya."

Liscenced Anime

"I have no problem with licensed anime. I'll take a DVD over a fansub any day. However, I do have a problem with subpar anime releases. I will not buy a release of a show if it's done crappily, if it's edited, or if it's dub only. I try to avoid any 26-episode show that's on more than 6 discs (any more is highway robbery).

As for whether or not fansubbers should continue a show after it's licensed, I don't think they should. I think fansubbers should focus more on the shows that aren't likely to come over rather than ones that are just one announcement away from licensing. Shows like Bleach are virtually guaranteed to come to the U.S. For some shows, however, the fansubs may be the only way any U.S. fan could watch it. "
