As an animation, Bakemonogatari has a simple, clean art style. But the guest illustrations for the series are anything but simple! So, it's great to see that °Tens took on a more complex illustration and made it his own with vector gradients so fine at points it more resembles painting that vectoring. Do have a look at this beautiful wallpaper!

Is this wall ready?
3 years 5 months ago
"Hi there,Wall looks good though I can't really tell how much of it is from the original image and how much editing you actually did. Perhaps you could show us the original image so we can give you better feedback.
The only suggestions I can make is to go easy on the top lines fx layer thing and sharpening the image, but other than that looks pretty good!
Good luck!"

Disgaea wallpaper

"I think it looks pretty good so far.I would suggest:
- remove the red outer glow on the characters
- black-ening the blue cloud/fog because to me black v. red/orange is nicer to look at than blue v. red/orange
- put some facial/expression details on the 2 girls - like the main dude has got eyes and smirk
- add a title
- don't forget your signature
Good luck!"

Dualscreen and widescreen walls
3 years 6 months ago
"I know widescreen and dualscreen aren't the same thing but thanks for the heads up.Yeah I've got scans that could well work for all of the above - single, dual or wide screen wall - which is giving me a major dilemma whether to go for the majority res 1600x1200, a widescreen wall (not many around) or cool dualscreen one that can also do as stand-alones. Thought I'd find out first what's acceptable what's not before working on it.
Sighh .. still can't decide .. thanks anyway for the reply :)"

Dualscreen and widescreen walls
3 years 6 months ago
"Hi,Just wondering if dualscreen walls are acceptable here, and if so, what resolutions?
From the AP guide I only saw widescreen res as quoted below
but nothing of dualscreens, although I do remember someone submitted a dual screen wall
(DN angel I think?) long ago which I thought was really cool.
Alternatively, would it be acceptable to submit dualscreen walls in 2-halves separately?
I once asked and was told that you can't use the same scan on slightly tweak your old design and call it a new wall - which means the 2-halves wall would look almost identical therefore subject to rejection - is this true?
Also, which resolution is best to use for widescreen walls? I notice all of the ones AP listed is of 16:10 ratio, although the Widescreen group wallers mention some other resolutions (not sure what width:height ratio used).
I am tempted to just go for the biggest one which is 2560x1600 but on the same token I'm worried that people might get turned off downloading it because 1) it's widescreen 2) the file is huge.
Any advice?
Thanks"

Screencap software

"I have tried printscreen before but turned out black, figured printscreen button isn't meant for videos. Thanks for that guys, have downloaded VLC will give that a go. A friend of mine recommended Fraps - I haven't tried it though I heard it's pretty good as well.
Thanks!"

Cowboy BeBop Wall.. Is this ready to submit ?
3 years 7 months ago
"I suggest cleaning up the jaggy edge on the bottom of Spike's gun. There's also an outer glow or something around the hair and Faye's gun. I can see why you might want to protect the blacks so these areas don't disappear in the background, but I think I would prefer lightening up the background to lift the blacks on the foreground. Subtle but enough to make out the shape.
Good luck!"

"Spotted white pixels on top right part of the skull and tiny spots all around. Could do using the Burn tool to demolish white pixels or make a flattened snapshot of everything and blend the edges into the background. The blood fx looks nice but too transparent - makes it look water-y.
What's the shadowy patch thing on the head? Is it meant to be like that?
And what's that white stuff just below the chin? That's not an unclean extraction - is it?? Could fool me but I don't know about the mods.
Found the background a bit too blurry compared to the sharp-stroked skull drawing.
Looks cool though - spooky!
Good luck!"

Suggestions on my Vector so far
3 years 7 months ago
"Hate having to work with gradients when vectoring - never know what colour to use. If I were you I prolly would flatten that gradient patch on his arm and maybe draw shadow patches instead - but that's just me being fussy with a lot of things.Noticed some of the outlines are thick-an-thin though prolly look fine once coloured. Seems like you're drawing an area, then colour it in and put outlines around. I did that for my first vector the result looks okay but I found it terrible to manage afterwards or if you want to make changes - which is why I rather spend the laborious hours tracing areas on the insides and outsides of the outlines.
Just noticing how your shadow 'trespass' through the face and neck outlines. I generally prefer to manage my traces in groups e.g. face, neck, clothes, etc - so it's easier to move around or do stuff later if you need to fix something since you can on/off the layer group. But again that's just me and I'm no expert in this.
Anyways, looks great so far, keep it up!
Vectoring is a lot to do with personal preferences, so long you get used to a technique - stick with it.
Good luck!"

1st attemp making background for a wall
3 years 7 months ago
"It's a bit too dark for me, can't make out the character at all until you said it in your wall description.I've never done a moon before, sorry can't be much help there - though you prolly want to get rid of the glossy film reflection fx down the middle.
Found the starry sky a bit too uniform. The lighting on the water looks fine. Too much light on the grass and perhaps could do with a tiny bit of blurring. Not bad looking grass though. The character silhouette looks a bit too blurry on the edges, just a little wary that it might get ping-ed for bad extraction.
Perhaps could do with a title.
Good luck!"

Need help!

"What's the idea behind the mirrored image in the middle?I would suggest adjusting the colours of each block to make them look somewhat consistent. Not meaning the same colours, but at least the same brightness or vivid-ness e.g. the image on the right is very dull coloured compared to the rest. I also wouldn't put red against another red in this type of layout, would personally prefer different colours for each block."
