Welcome To The NHK!

"Welcome to the NHK is a new show, about a paranoid young man, Satou Tatsuhiro, 21, who is living in his bedroom since 3 years, fearing a huge conspiracy from the evil organisation NHK (originally a Japanese public broadcast company, lol). This is the NHK that forced him to quit school, become unemployed, and living the life of a Hikikomori -an ermit-like young person- until now.

Everything was going well in his bedroom, until an assassin from the NHK (Misaki-chan, 20-something innocent looking girl) came to his door, wielding an umbrella.

Ok this is some kind of a small summary but believe me, this show seriously rocks, it's just that i can't say more without spoiling. Satou is just completely mad, having hallucinations and hearing voices (he speaks with the machines of his flat, refrigerator, radio, TV, comp, etc...), and very likeable in the same time. Some very humorous scenes in this first episode, you'll see. If you didn't like FLCL, don't go watch this, because FLCL is MENTALLY SANE compared to this. Personnally i love it, but this is obvious it won't be everyone's case.

Now, when you watch it, just pay attention to the backgrounds. they're even better drawn than the characters (who're just beautiful). Everything is well detailed, but still not realistic, it's drawn for sure, but damn well drawn.

Music and sounds are WOW (pay attention to the little environement sounds, please) and inside songs are differents from your usual run off the mill anime, reminds me Honey & Clover somehow.

that's all for now, i hope the story will follow good and the art stay at the same level, because for now, seriously it owns.

"Well with my big bro we have the chance to share the same passion: anime :p
so we can watch together, and since we have more or less the same tastes concerning anime, we usually make the same comments :p
what we like can however vary, i.e: i watched SHUFFLE he wouldn't even watch a second XD while he loves Naruto and i can't stand it.

Our standards for good animation, character dev and so on are also the same, so when i watch an anime i like, i can say "go watch that man" and most of the time he'll like it.

well, this was a super interesting part of my private life, i hope you enjoyed it a lot, and you'll tell your children when you have some, and tell them to do the same with their own children, so that in a few hundred years it'll become a legend.

"There ARE bad fansubs, believe me. i've seen terrible works on subs, this can be translation errors, encoding problems, bad sound (well this can come from the raw provider) and tons of other misdeeds like that. And this can be from fansubs that are not doing their first sub. I mean, when you do something, if you do it bad, don't do it.
The worst fansub i've ever seen is maybe YOUR DAD oh my it was burning my eyes and making my ears melt.
i could add on the list GKA, Tasagan, Hell FS...
a bad release can be ok if it's the first sub, but after a few one, you can expect someone to improve, no?
well this post begins to be irrelevant to the topic so i'll stop here.

Ah and BTW what is your fav sub of Blood + so far? mine is Shinsen Sub's without a doubt even if release pace is a bit hazardous :p These guys do some of the best subs around, with notes about eps and all... "

Black Lagoon!

"Aaaah Black Lagoon my love XD when i heard they were gonna make an anime i was like crazy screaming all alone and jumping around (i'm a huge fan of the manga) and everybody was telling me it wouldn't be interesting
muahahaha i was right!!

So we're at eps 9 now, i'm waiting for SHS release like you all XD and it rocks so much so far.

There are few chonological deviation from the manga tho as said Hinaru, but if you don't know you don't notice and it doesn't seems weird.

I'm eager to see the last two eps of the series, Lock n' Load Revolution and Jungle Guerilla, because they should feature my two fav character from the manga: Mr Chang the Triad boss of Roanapura and Shenwa his hired killer, teh hottest girl around on this side of earth.

Too bad tho the anime stops there, because a lot more happens in the manga, it could fill a 41 season instead of a 12. But rejoice people, because there should be OVA coming soon after, and i already know it's gonna kick asses XD

"Well, i'm a huge fan of Blood : The last Vampire, to my eyes one of the best one shot you can watch, and i must say i'm quite disapointed by Blood+

Even if it's not REALLY a related story (not a prequel nor a sequel, but another story in fact; the Saya of the movie and the Saya of the series are not the same character, i'm quoting I.G. Prod guys here, they made a new world and a new story for the series, only keeping the Chiropteran thing and the name of the heroine) i think they just butchered the whole thing.

Good points are: nice animation, character design (even tho it's poor and completely different compared to the movie, but you can't match this quality when you make a 52eps series)
character dev is interesting, and there are many 2nd place characters developed as well, and it's good.

My main problem comes from Saya, the main character in fact. In the movie she's a strong, iron-willed girl, that really rocks, and in the series they just made a WEAKLING Saya, and it's really disturbing. I know it's not the same character, but they could have refrained to go from an extreme to another.

She's whining all the time, crying on herself ("oh no he's dead cuz i'm such a whuss, but i can't help it" and she's like that everytime someone dies OMFG it's so annoying) and scared everytime a fight shows up. OK for the last thing she has the right to be scared if it's a big chiropteran in the fight. But dang when someone's fighting and dying for her and says "run away" or "hide" or whatever and she just doesn't move RAAAAAAH IT'S ANNOYING.

well, after 30eps (yeah you have to bear the whuss-ish behaviour of Saya for 30eps) she eventually decides to fight and face reality. COOL, AT LAST. But the guy's from I.G Prod manage to as main second character another weakling, Riku! thanks I.G prod. well happily he dies fast. And that's the occasion to notice that at the first serious problem, Saya comes back to her whuss-ish way of life, not moving while she could just try to kill her younger brother's assassin, Diva, in front of her. Pussycat.

now honestly i hope it's gonna improve and stop being an anime with weaklings as main characters. While as i said there are very good sequences and a good char dev and background explaination, because of all these sequences (EVERY fight till involving Saya or Riku or Kai till eps 30 i counted) of "the terrible-paralysis-due-to-fear-or-stupidity-you-decide", it's being overall a middle quality anime, i'd give it a 12/20. Well it's cool, obviously we're not gonna see Saya for a few episodes, it's gonna save us this kind of sequences :p"

Seventh: Actively look for her (not while you're high, you could end up somewhere bad) by asking her friends, relatives or whoever you can get in contact with.

Eighth: Don't cry Billy Boy, she was not the one for you!

Ninth: Stay away from any sharp, blunt, toxic things in your house, as well as any firearms, rope, window. U've got a full life to live and hundreds of girls better than her to meet! Hundreds? THOUSANDS YEAH!

Tenth: Make a wallpaper with a female character, add blood, shake, serve cold.

"LAWL "yellow skin" reminds me the good ol' days hehe (i'm vietnamese). well btw, it's not only korea-japan-china you know, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam had had their bunch of troubles you know.
Hey here's another exemple of changing history: vietnam war against americans. damn for decades US were saying "we went there to save these poor underdevelopped lemon faces from communist bastards". It's only several years ago that they REALLY admitted, at a national level, that: "oh shit once again we've bee fu**ing around in a place we shouldn't have, sorry about that"
and those US tards were saying the first version even when the whole world was saying "this is not your war guys"
but national pride was and is stronger.

Look, everybody did horrid things to others, and everybody see it their way, even if it's a WEIRD way (there are still people that are SURE that jew labor camps and gas rooms are lies, Turkey still don't recognize the genocide of Armenians, like 2 millions people who just "disappeared", they say) and all you can do is try telling what you think is the truth. Or beat them to the ground if it really pisses you off hehe.

Well i'm happy because in France i think (i hope lol) that History courses i followed were the true story, with a global vision of the stuff. But i believe it's seriously not the case for any country with a religious government (you should see Iraqi History courses it's ROFLMAO) or countries with an almost dictatorial power (i'm aware History courses in Vietnam are a bit "tweaked" :p as they are in Japan China Korea).

"Well gat chill out i didn't say anything like that... i honestly don't care about what's happening there, all i know is that this kind of things are keeping me busy and that's all (well french army didn't go there tho).

what i wanted to point out was the fact that nobody was noticing what was really happening there until someone showed things under another face.

People killing each other there are plenty all over the world, i know that better than most of people here, and i learnt something rather quickly at work: don't judge what's happening there, just do what you have to do there. If i was paying attention to all the things i'm ordered to do i wouldn't sleep much you know (and no, i'm not ordered to kill people all day long, it's actually pretty rare to ge this kind of orders).
And just so you know, when i get orders, my superiors don't tell me "there are bad guys killing innocent good people, go save them" they rather say "it's full of shit over there, clean this fu**ing mess"
at my level we don't care about who attacked first or who did the most horrible thing to the other, we're just here to tidy up the place.

you know my best friend is Russian too, and i know loadsa things about Russia and its inhabitants, don't worry...

about the school with kids it's a pity but to be honest, russian special forces fucked up on this. but i'd still be angry against those tchetchenia guys if i were you, they did something wrong there, it's obvious.

"Well, i understand (but don't admit either) why Japan is doing this. A nation that is based on honor can't live with such a shame, and i think this is mainly why they do it. But i'm not really sure it will do anything, one can't cover such a big thing.

and eva, about what you said about history reminding us things not to do, you'll learn sooner or later that -humanity makes History but doesn't learn from History-.
i know it seems very show off lol but it's true.we didn't even learnt from WW2.
exemple: dever heard about Tchetchenia (not sure it's the right name in english)? Since many years now, Russia's been wrecking havioc in this country (i know what i'm talkin about i'm in the army). But nobody was really caring about the misdeeds of Russia in this small country. Women and childs were (and still are btw) killed mercilessly, while men sent in labor camps. Until one day a photograph took a photo of a prisonner, so skinny he almost looked skeletal. this guy was behind barb wires. remember Auschwitz?
Public opinion (who knew what was happening since a few years already) had to see this picture to say "hey! it's like WW2! we can't let that happen!"
i say: "congrats people. you knew since at least 2 years but before it was just a war, and now that you've seen this, it's WW2?"
first: people are stupid
second: we don't learn from History, not at all.

well i'm very interested by women but i gave up understanding them long ago. But one of the results of my study on them is that they are how they are mainly because of the world we live in. i mean, they have a given role in today's society, and even if we're on the brink of great changes about this, they still are raised in some kind of "predetermined" role, just as we men are. i guess everybody knows what i mean by "predetermined", so i won't bother to explain. I think that when we'll see women's condition TRULY change (i don't talk about being men's equal... i fear they have more ambition than that... arg...) then we'll see women's behaviour and all change as well.

now i know Omni isn't gonna sleep for two days cuz his mind is gonna work at full throttle LAWL Omni :p

i actually cried with Elfen Lied, during the last flashbacks, with Hanbun No Tsuki Gan Noboru Sora, a really sad oneshot (6episodes), and at episode 23 of Last Exile, during Lucciola's flashback at his childhood with Dio (btw the song "lost friend" always makes me cry now)... ah and also the end of Bakuretsu Tenshi, and during this EXCELLENT episode of Scrapped Princess, when she recovers from amnesia.

i feel like the main thing that can make you cry in a scene is the music, what do you think?"

Font is as much important as the rest of a wall, you have to work hours on it to blend it, find the right place for it, the right size, not just SLAP it rudely as you did it's UGLY.

"Sorry i'm too lazy to edit my last post so i make a new one.
blowing up a vectored image is the MAIN interest of vector: you don't lose quality (until it's rasterized of course) what i usually do when i work on shots of bad quality is: i cry during the work, but in the end i blow up the result and it looks fantastic ^^
just carry on working on your image at the original size of the shot (if you blow up the shot anyway it will only be pixels and you'll make bad stuff)
but definitely, i think you took a hard shot to vectorize, because you usually lose details and depth by vectoring an image, so if you take an image that has low depth and details from the beginning... you're in for hard time.
and as someone said here in AP (i guess it's Kalico) vectoring a shot has usually a bad result more than a good result. "
