"I won't even pretend that I've read/watched Barragan but I can give an opinion on your wall.

Firstly the background looks like you didn't put much effort or thought into it (although that most probably isn't true), and the colour of the wall overpowers the 'graffiti'. The wall would look better a different colour like grey stone, or scuffing/aging the wall.

I personally think that there isn't a solid focal point on the wall (where the eye is drawn to first) and perhaps the inclusion of a scan/character would improve the overall look of the wall. Then the graffiti would frame/emphasis the character in the wall (would suggest a badass/evil/villian character out of the series).

Also your 'paint' colours need to be more dramatic and solid against the colour of the wall like dark blues/black/reds/browns and greens that would stand out and leave an impression.

Reorganising your layout may help to improve the wall. Or perhaps even enlarging the central skull.

But I do like the font you have used for your title. I look forward to reviewing your next wall version. "

First Wallpaper - Resizing Issues

"Unfortunately everything that hatesyou has said is true.

It is always better to create a large version of your wall (e.g 1600x1200/1920x1200/2560x1600) and reducing the size, then resizing your wall larger and reducing the visual quality (e.g discoloured pixels) of your wall.

But what exactly is your trouble in creating a larger wall resolution: creating the original document size, your background (eg. brushes/font) or the orginal size of your character scan?

I can create a PSD document larger then 1280x800 using an earlier version of PS, so unless C3 elements is different this is unlikely to be the reason. Are you unable to use your brushes or fonts at a size larger then 1280x800? Someone else may be able to sugest something different other then find the brushes/fonts in a larger size or choose another/other brushes or fonts. The scan is similar to the brushes/fonts; If the whole scan is to small for a larger resolution choose a certain part of the character to appear in the wall (e.g from the waist up), find a larger version of the scan, choose another scan or vector the image.

However I can think of a way that may help you enlarge your current wallpaper, which unfortunately may/will involve you redoing the wall. Try using a set grid of guides on your wall and copy this action on the new larger resolution at the same (but larger) intervals. Then simply copy what appears in each grid at the new larger size. Hey presto an (almost) exact larger version of your wall. "

Bleach Wall.

"Your picture extraction is quite well done. But the background in somewhat unique. I think you need more defintion or pattern on your bricks or a solid colour in between the bricks. Also perhaps have the background patterns appear as graffiti, so on the wall not through the wall. Or if you were going for an abstract effect go completely abstract and leave the brick wall out entirely. Also I must confess I am not a master at this, but perhaps matching the colour scheme of ichigo would help blend him into the background moreand possibly add a new wow factor to the wall.

Random thought - you could try using filters to blend the 'graffiti' onto the wall like using colour burn or multiply. "

Elfen Lied is coming

"Yeh!! a sequel/continuation. The whole anime never really ended, it just kind of stopped. I haven't read the manga so I don't know what may happen in another season but I think there is room in my anime watching schedule for another run of Elfen Lied (I just love the opening and closing songs). A second season has a lot to live up to with the first season (which I read somewhere) receiving an award for the best naked bloody massacre. This 'award' was the thing that originally got me interested in the series- the blood part not the naked part- and i didn't leave dissapointed. "

I gather that it is suppost to be the person walking on the beach, but my focus was first drawn to the large text on the top right side of the wall. Perhaps reducing the text size or the opacity slightly would help to reduce the texts impact so that it doesn't dominate the wall quite as much."

"I actually use a lot of black and white walls on my desktop but your wall is perhaps is a little bit heavy handed for my taste. Most black/white and grey walls use the lack of colour to highlight the artistic style, clean lines or details on the wall. There's just too many characters on your wall with no finer details, it makes your wall feel unfinished - even though it isn't.

Try cleanly vectoring the images, using painting, texturing, gradients,grunging or splattering. Anything to add more details to your wall and/or background."

"The feeling of the wall is a kind of horror and ghostlike, not sadness.

I personally would probably pastelize or fully colour the focus character and de-colour the background. In other words make the BG depressing with grey skies, rain and a the rest of the BG in shade of grey and other depressing colours.

Also I would include your lyrics as background caligraphy, kind of like a grunge effect. "

how long can you go without your anime fix

"When I have some tough assignments or during the last 5 weeks when I had exams followed by an intensive, so I have watched little to no anime but I have listened to a lot of music and read a bit of manga (to relieve the stress of course :)). Actually before that I had assignments due continously for 5 weeks straight so it's probaby around 10 weeks.

Also there's a lag between many of my series finishing and the new season's anime really starting so it's a natural lull which equals a few weeks without anime. I was actually too busy to miss it - except for now when I had to remember the last episode i watched. But luckily friends just gave me a ton of episodes that they d/led in the past weeks so now I can gorge on anime in my 1 week off."

"Your scan and extraction looks good except for a few parts around her chest/leg and the area near her foot on the far left.

I like the background colour - but not in this wall- unless you make the background colour part of a bigger picture like a cloudy sky, a sunset/rise and/or a roof perspective of a town (eg with buildings and trees).

Unfortunately while a good idea the symbols/writing detract from your wall. The background would probably look better without it or use in a grunge brush style with greater transparency.

No original suggestions really but perhaps by thinking about what would appear in the characters background (is she sitting on a rock, on the roof of a building, the edge of the road etc - and is the BG in keeping with her style of dress?) you can create something original."

"I can definitely see Hana to Akuma as an anime - especially after chapter 23. Maybe a 12 episode series to keep the story pace interesting.

I never really thought about where Hana was found, I suppose I just assumed it was just outside the barrier. But wait didn't one chapter mention that Hana was found on the door step? Maybe I should re-read the series."

How does you family feel about Anime?

"My little brother originally corrupted me introduced me to anime. But since then i've sucked both of my brothers into watching anime.

My big brother watches all my boxsets, whatever else I give him (he's currently watching InuYasha) and whatever he buys (he has the entire Ranma 1/2 series).

The little brother has the entire Naruto/Naruto Shippiden series (current to whatever been released and fan-subbed) and he's watched every episode of Dragonball (Z and whatever else there was) and who knows what else.

So I guess i'm a really bad influence. "

dropped series

"It's kind of annoying, because you might understand the reason(s) the series was dropped/stopped but somehow it doesn't quite help.

In Trinity Blood's case the mangaka dying (or so I heard) is a very good reason to end a series. I also currently follow a series where the mangaka has stopped or dropped the series due to health reasons (see perfectly understandable), but as I was quite fond of the series and it was just getting interesting it doesn't make me feel better about hanging in mid air regarding the story.

Now I just sound crabby, but I hope the mangaka gets well soon (really) even if she doesn't return to writing the series -although I hope she does. "

You can(NOT) advance

"I'm a bit ashamed to admit that i've had Evangelion 1.0 for months but have yet to watch it. I think that after the series + movies + directors cuts on the movies I kind of got a bit tired of the same story being redone from a different angles.

But just recently a local anime otaku (sorry it's either describe her as that or as a rabid screaming yaoi fan girl - which she also is) told me that 1.0 was a completely unrelated edition of NGE and that it was really really good. Unfortunately since then i've been drowning in work and haven't had time to watch it. But I am really glad to hear there's a 2.0 coming out maybe i'll make it a NGE-athon weekend and watch them together.

So keeping in mind that I haven't seen 1.0, I hope that Shinji grows a spine - or a personality either one is fine.

I have to agree with DevilHand - make Asuka more badass, in the original series she started off well and then slid into a pathetic heap. Add more Asuka bad girl power in 2.0!! "

"I actually liked this series enough to download it all but I have yet to watch the series past episode 5. As a general rule I avoid series with the harem genre, but I think it was the main male character getting blown up in nearly every episode; Or the fact that the main male character acts like a pervert (vs. the much over used a side character theme) - but isn't.

Who knows but at episode 4 it hasn't developed into a full blown typical harem theme - so until it does I think i'll keep watching it. "

Small things that immensely piss you off?

"Try sticking signs up in the bathroom, it might embarrass them into non-irritating behaviour. Although there is always the other way - do things to annoy them, but that is just really immature.

Things that irritate me (any further emotion requires more effort and isn't worth it) are just the little things you can't ignore, like people in a conversation asking you to guess something like a price - repeatedly; Or answering a question with "yes and no". It's either yes or no not both!! and snorting snot - get a tissue!

Another thing that irritates me is when something annoying happens more then twice, like internet explorer crashing 95% into a download three different times. I was a tad little bit more then annoyed the third time, it was more into the computer rage zone, thank goodness it wasn't my computer and I could leave it alone (before it got hurt) and go home. "

Critiques Please

"Where is your focus? The focus is the point on which the viewers eye will be first drawn to on the wall. I first focused on mirror Gotenks's (the right name?) head, was that what I was suppost to see first? Other effects other then plain image mirroring could be a trail of almost transparent repeats of the image (with appropiate perspective) to indicate rapid movement - it does look like they're fighting. Or slight blurring around the characters edges to indicate movement.

The background is really brightly red which inaddition to the noise, really distracts from your nice scan extraction. Try brushing instead of noise, you have more control over where the effect goes. Where are Gotenks and Boo fighting? High over land (land can be seen at the very edge of wall) over water? in the air (sky colour and clouds). I think you could perhaps put a bit more thought into your wall BG, try to put a bit of your personality and imagination into it before the next wall revision. "

"All of your pictures are slightly blurry, and your background appears very plain and flat against the pictures.

Your pictures aren't screenshots are they? Because screenshot are nearly always visually blurry or small. Its always better to work from scans, usually the larger the better.

With your picture composition try altering the angles of the lines and picture angles. From what I can gather your picture sequence is showing Yuki crying, perhaps exploring other pictureboard methods could improve on the originality or wow-factor of your wall. "
