"I used to be a bully early in elementary school, then got bullied later in elementary school and middle school. Karma man. Karma.

Anyway, you definitely cannot take bullying lying down. Fighting back, whether physically (which isn't ideal) or through other means, is definitely necessary. Bullies pick on people because they know that they can get what they want without much trouble, and if you take that away from them or make it very difficult for them to do whatever they want, then they have much less incentive."

"Yes, Beautiful World is going to be the OP of the new Evangelion movie and Fly Me to the Moon -2007 Mix- will be the ED, from what I heard. The single comes out August 29th, but you can Youtube it and as McMuffin mentioned, there's rips of the song floating around.

Anyway, Utada has been going downhill since Deep River (which I personally think is her best album). Beautiful World is, as DarkRain mentioned, not very memorable. It's a decent song but personally I haven't even bothered listening to it again."

Either way... as I said, it really comes down to you making your feelings clear to him. If he knows and isn't responding, he's either waiting for you to make the move, he's uncertain, or he doesn't want to damage the friendship you guys have. Naturally, you should see where he stands on things and go for there; guessing someone's feelings isn't always easy to do, particularly when it comes to relationships."

"There's nothing wrong with addictions if they're not hurting anyone. And if you're hurting yourself with your addiction, that's your own fault anyway-- weigh the risks and costs.

Addictions can be bad, but I think for the most part they can be overcome if a person really sets their mind to it. The issue is most don't, and then try to make excuses when the addiction ultimately starts with the person."

"I think parents in general shouldn't be THAT buddy-buddy with their kids. They're adults and should act like it.

To answer the question, I think mothers shouldn't spoil their kids. I think up until their teenage years, just be a parent-- take responsibility, make sure they're doing okay, talk with them about their problems, help them out, whatever. Once they're near adulthood, naturally you let them do what they want, let them make mistakes and learn from them on their own (hopefully not huge ones that will wreck their lives... in which case they should step in), and let them talk to you instead of you doing the talking all the time. In their early years, I think parents should be more aggressive with how they raise their kids, and let up once they're older. It's a fine line that requires maturity and careful thought, and that's why there are a lot of people that mess up as parents, I suppose."

"Yeah, the music can literally make or break an anime. Good music selection, not just in the OP and ED, but throughout the episode, can heighten so many emotions or draw the viewer in. Likewise, if there's crappy OPs and EDs, people might turn away, and if the OST is bad or just plain average, then it doesn't generate the strong feelings for particular scenes it could have."

There's always a certain risk of rejection no matter what you do, but it's better to try confessing than to try and forget when you can't. Especially since you know him well, see him often, and feel strongly towards him. Keep a level head and approach him about it-- if things turn out okay, that's great! If they don't, just try and keep things smooth between him because if he's as good a person as you say, then he's definitely worth keeping as a friend regardless of how things turn out.

Whatever happens, just make sure that the transition isn't awkward. Hopefully he's understanding of you and your feelings."

"On some level, I do think having some type of charm is awesome and gives a person confidence, but the realist inside me just does the whole bit about it being pure chance anyway. I used to carry some things I thought gave me luck, but now I don't-- though in the future, I may.

Manga or Comics

"Like many here, I prefer manga. However, that's not to take away from comics, which I think have some wonderful artwork and amazing detail, especially since they color all of it. However, their plotlines are seriously run into the ground, and I think that's one of the bigger problems with American entertainment is that sometimes they don't know when to call it quits (not to mention they revive anyone and everyone without warning). Having a manga that ends well and leaves you satisfied has far more impact than something that drags.

Anyway, definitely manga for me. I like the character designs more, and most of the time the plot and such feels very real, while comics usually tend to overdramatize some things. "

What anime has the best fashionable characters?

"Hm... interestingly, I think I'll go with Haruhi, especially when the characters are out of uniform. There's some really simple but appealing sort of business-casual clothing that they wear, and I remember particularly liking Kyon and Haruhi's respective fashion senses. In that same vein, the Kanon remake also has Yuuichi wearing some pretty cool stuff."

What do you think is most important in an anime?

"Characters first, plot second. Good characters can make relatively ordinary plots shine. Plot is certainly important, but I usually aim more for particular types of genres anyway so plot usually winds up being more or less the same.

I think animation also has a great say in influencing whether or not I watch an anime. Poor animation stagnates the story and just makes things harder to absorb."

"Kimi ga Nozomu Eien is certainly very good. I don't remember being moved though, probably because I couldn't sympathize very well with some of the characters.

Hm... I don't think I've ever cried over any anime, but I remember that one of the animes that impacted me the most was Trigun when I was a teenager-- mostly Rem. There's a lot of philosophy and ideals in that anime, and though now I don't particularly believe in pacifism, I think just the show itself really made me a better person in terms of trying to be better to others and thinking about them.

The most recent anime that I got kind of choked up over was Honey and Clover, because parts of it struck close to my heart, especially the ending of the second season."

Any Love Hina fan's out there?

"Love Hina is fantastic. There was actually a plot (omgwtf?), Keitaro wasn't really indecisive about who he liked (doubleomgwtf?), and it had a really good ending (at least in the manga). Almost all the characters were likeable, and the art was really appealing. Really opened my eyes to the romance-comedy genre.

The anime made a lot of mistakes and I really didn't like the character designs. Great music, though."
