The Twilight series...

"I just recently read Twlight, I just wanted to know what all the fuss is about. Although not the most brillant book ever written it certainly engrosses you in the love affair between Bella and Ed and after reading it went directly to the book store and purchased the rest of the series. Certainly Meyer's take on the vampire is rather interesting and I dare say different than other vampire tales. The movie is what has me the most excited because lets just face it Rob Pattison makes a very sexy, seductive, and dangerous vampire. I think this is going to be a case where you enjoy the book so much more because of the movie and that rarely happens. Many people have dinged Meyer on her writing style but lets face it she is an awesome story teller not an author of literature and does not delude herself by thinking otherwise. "

Nodame Cantabile

"I just found out that there will be a season 2 of the Nodame Cantabile anime that will be set in Paris. First episode will air in October 2008. This show is so amazing. It has great comedy, loveable characters, and the music is breathtaking. Love, Love, Love this show! Believe it or not the main character, Nodame, is actually based on a real person...very interesting story. "

What do you think Naruto can do to surpass Sasuke

"I agree with you kaizor88, the fact that the author revealed who Naruto's father is, I believe is important. My understanding is that the rasengan (4th's signature technique) is an incomplete technique so maybe that is the direction that Naruto is moving in. I believe like the rest of you, he has relied to long on the fox demon's powers, he needs to tap into his own. He's unexpectedly smart and tends to think of things other ninjas would have overlooked during a fight, there is defintely the porential to even overcome his father. I honestly think that Kakashi spent too much time cultivating Sasuke's abilties and sort of let Naruto's training fall by the wayside, which is evident when Naruto returns to Konoha and finds that almost everyone, but himself, has achieved a ranking of Chunin or higher. "

Too much additions to the anime

"The last 10 episodes have been comprised of either sparadic fighting, endless conversations in which the characters state and restate the obvious, conversations regarding Sai's notebook, and pretty much spent our time looking at the pretty circle design on the walls of Orochimaru's den. I certainly hope the anime starts moving along a bit more, I am so over the current arc. "

Do you believe that BISEXUALITY exists?

"Obviously bisexuality does exist because there are people out there that define themselves as being bisexual. But does it really deal exclusively with sexual/physical attraction? Some of the bisexual people that I have come into contact with are sexually stimulated by one gender/sex and emotinally/mentally attracted to the other gender/sex. I've known several woman who have had traumatic sexual experiences with men (rape, molestation) and therefore are sexually attracted to males but feel more confident and safe with women and pursue relationships with women more so than men. Some bisexual people are physically and emotionally attracted to both genders/sexes. I think it is a broad term for defining people who fall into the shades of gray between homosexuality and heterosexuality. Perhaps the term is to broad and there in lies the issue. I don't think bisexuality is a precursor to homosexuality, just as many bisexual people "turn" straight as those who "turn" gay. Our sexuality is the foundation of human nature and just as humans are not perfect we cannot expect to have a perfect balance of gay and straight people...life is not black and white there are always ample shades of gray. "

"You watch anime don't you? Anime is just a soap with characters who are in their teens and have special powers. I don't like them either but I can see the similarties. I think some people enjoy soaps because they have simple storylines, characters come back from the dead after 20 years, and the cliffhangers hook the viewers to watch the next episode. "

code: the law system, rules, commandments

cultus: the rituals...wedding ceremonies, baptism

community: a group of people bound together by their belief in the creed, code, and cultus.

Whether it is considered a religion has nothing to do with belief in a supreme being. "

can dreams hold answers for us?

"Before someone close to me passes away I dream of dying birds. Whether or not my dreams are prophetic well, I can't say yes or no. I'm not the only person I've heard that this happens to. It is possible to dream about the future seeing as how it is hypotheisized that time is not linear.

I do believe dreams are important tools in solving problems as well as providing insight about yourself...obviously dreams aren't literal. I have to say that I don't agree with the psychoanaltyic view on dreams...in which everything in your dream is a symbol for something. Most of the time our dreams are meaningless...dreams are heavily influnced by environment, watch a scary movie have a nightmare. Dreams are our brain's way of "cleaning out" useless information. "

"The Rurouni Kenshin anime was great until we got to the episodes of events that occurred after the Shishio arc...the story then felt extremely disjointed and didn't seem to go anywhere. The first ova is beautifully animated and a great story that explains Kenshin's past. The second ova is a rather depressing story that will surely taint any good memories of the series you may have. "

"I really like the concept of Ouran High but I agree...the story seems to be dragging along a bit. My favorite character would have to be Tamaki, he's so clueless, I also like Haruhi's sarcastic commentary.

In reply to Zoak's post, it was announced this summer on several anime websites that there will be a season 2 of Ouran High School airing in fall 2008. If it is true, none of the anime magazines in the US have announced it yet. Maybe it truly is a hopeful rumor. "

"I think George is perhaps one of my favorite male characters in anime history. He is so complex and makes no apologies for being who he is...you truly struggle with whether too love him, hate him, or both. I really enjoyed that the show concentrates on the world of high fashion couture and that the characters actually wore different outfits throughout the series. Isabella I also thought was a fascinating character and was most disappointed when only a small part of the story was dedicated to "her". My favortie line of that whole series was the ending of the anime

"I think Sasuke had feelings for Sakura but I don't believe he was able to recognize them for what they were. The thirty or so episodes I've watched of the shippuden series has convinced me that he will never be capable of ever loving anyone...he did after all essentially shed his humanity in order to assume the incredible power that he has. Besides, I don't think Sakura loves Sasuke the way she once did...Naruto might actually get a chance now. At the end of the day it is a ninja story and not a love story so I don't expect the author to offer his fans any resolution on the matter. "

I think that the best way to interpret whether something is indecent or not...is to adopt a former Supreme Court Judge's definition of obscenity, "I know it when I see it." Indecency is not a static concept, it changes dramatically over time. In the 1980's homosexuality was viewed as indecent and diagnosed as a mental illness. In today's society a majority of folks view people who define themselves as gay as normal. Up until the 1960's women were severely discouraged from expressing their sexuality...women were to be friggid and to concentrate on being the "angel of the house". Today, women's sexuality is celebrated and encouraged. Indecency is dependent on a society's moral code, laws, philosophy, religious influences, and tradition. So for each culture, if one has a general understanding of these factors than when it comes to gauging indecency... You'll know it when you see it. "
