"No, I wasn't suggesting deleting the original, that would be quite unfair to the one who submitted it.

If a scan had been cleaned (not just filtered or something), but image cut out, flaws and folds in the paper edited out, text in front removed, things like this all done so it's ready just to pop into a wall like a vector would be, would it then be comparable to submitting a vector in that both versions would be in the gallery at the same time?

It seems as though it would be, as it would have the same result. (and I agree with what you said, that many scans would not be appropriate to use like this, however there are many that would be)"

"If I where to extract and clean a scan, remove text that is in the way, etc, for a wallpaper (or not for a wallpaper), could I then submit the cleaned and extracted scan to the scans gallery? I haven't seen this done except with vectors, but it makes sense that it would be appreciated by wallers in the same way as vectors would, that is, by saving them some work."

"Most everything looks good, with one exception. The large white space area with all that cluttered sparkles and stuff? It looks messy and sloppy. I think if you put a little more time into that area and made it more subtitle, elegant, and deliberate it would finish it off very well. Not necessarily ordered, but either that, or a more deliberate and elegant disorder.

The rest of the wallpaper is really well put together, the border, text, and window look great. So keep trying, k? You're not too far off."

"There have been some parts that have made me feel something close to what would make me cry, but I truthfully don't think anything I've ever watched has caused me to cry. I remember I cried fairly often when I was a kid, and there have been a few books that have gotten very close, but that's about it I think."
