How many people are willing to proclaim that they're fans of anime? How many of you would not tell a soul about their interest? And why do you feel the need to hide it?

I personally do not tell people that I am into anime unless I know for certain that they watch anime too.

That's just stupid. For example - you meet someone new. How would you know if you share the same interest in anime, if you don't ask him (assuming he's as dumb as that not to tell about their interests too)? How do you make friends with him, if you don't talk?

I think the biggest reason for me is because of all the incorrect stereotypes associated with the anime subculture. I remember one of my older coworkers referred to anime as "cartoon porn", which I think is completely wrong, or they think it's all just for children and that the anime medium is not capable of more in-depth stories which is a completely inaccurate assessment.

So what - afraid of being labeled? Hahahaha! Well, if people label you as a pervert and childish - accept it and prove them wrong by showing them that you're not like that. How you ask? Talk about anime, go and brag to everyone how awesome/interesting/intriguing the shows you watch are. When one of my friends called me pervert i laughed at her face and the next day i showed her an episode of "Death note". Guess what - she's an anime fan now too.

And YES - I am a proud anime fan :)"

"Nowadays everithing's made for money, including the TV programs and shows. But being made for money, doesn't mean they're good. I stopped watching tv 2 years ago and from time to time i get a grasp at a tv series or a talk show on the air and they make me puke. Boring but sparkly, and yet normal people watch that cr*p. Why are humans "unnatural"?

"Natural = nature = probably took a few million years to evolve and adapt and probably still evolving physically.

Because we build buildings?
Yes, we're not the only creatures, that build, but the beaver damns do not require thousands tons of concrete, steel and other UNNATURAL materials, because you can't find steel, plastic, brick, glass, rubber, concrete etc. in the nature.

Because we manufacture materials?
We manufacture the materials needed for buildings, cars, even for the machines that build buildings and cars and the manufacturing process itself polutes not only the air but also the water and soil around the factories in a large scale. And to tell you the truth, i haven't seen a beaver behind the wheel of an 18-wheeler drinking coffee and cursing his boss for being a pr*ck.

Because we kill other animals?
Oh my god, of course animals kill animals FOR FOOD. We kill animals for fun, for money, because there's nothing better to do. That's the main difference between
us and the animals - we KNOW what we're doing, while the tigers, lions, wolfs etc. hunt their dinner, so that they don't starve.

Because we've caused the extinction of other species via hunting?
Is there another mammal, reptile, bug or fish that has cause the extinction of another species, knowing they will forever dissapear? Well, i haven't seen a pigeon aiming a shotgun at a dog, or a cat, have you?

I'm not even going to start here. This is a rhetorical question. It's like asking "Will the sun burn me if i get too close to it?".

Humans became unnatural in the moment the first ape picked up a stick from the ground and threw it at his rival. But it only took about 2mil years for us to understand that. And it will probably take another million years to change that. Too bad no one of us will be there to see this. "

"Well, i don't want to play the saint, but i don't say to someone i hate his/hers work more than mine, no matter how poor i did. I actually don't like to argue a lot, because it's a waste of time and nerves. If i hate someone (and believe me - i do hate a lot of people) i just ignore them. If they do something better than me i don't hate them more, rather i'm angry with myself because I DIDN'T thought about that first. I congratulate them and praise them (if they're showing off to me) and i really do mean it.

Someone said people do not acknowledge the good works of someone they hate because they don't want to admit defeat. Well, you have to be pretty stupid to say that (unfortunately most people are as dumb as shit). But i know when i'm wrong and i know when i'm defeated. But i actually don't give a flying shit what others think about me, so that beats the fun of making me look weak and stupid.

And i will second Keiko - when someone says you're ugly, get over it. There is someone out there, that thinks that person is ugly too (and maybe he'll beat the crap out of him someday lol)."

"Well, i play an online game too. It's called EvE online and it's soo good - i can spend 10-12 hours online. Also about a year ago i was really into CS 1.6 - I was playing about 12 hours a day every day. But i got through that - i had to start studying and i gave up on CS - it got very boring since there was no one better than me. But it's different with EvE. Well, i haven't stayed online more than 3-4 hours for some time, and i don't even play every day, but i don't feel like giving up. But i think i'm not addicted - i know my life doesn't depend on that game, so it's okay if i don't play for a day or two. "

"Phew, I'm glad the girls I know aren't that... stupid. In fact one of my best friends is a girl and we often talk about the people we're seeing and what we do when we're together, we talk about girl and boy tipes we like etc., when we're in a cafe or somewhere outside we're checking out the people around us. I've seen a girls' room with posters of menly and not so menly men on the walls, and I think that's ok.
Maybe the reason women call men "perverts" is because some of us have a bad habit of touching themselves... you know what I mean..."

Strange topic indeed. But I've always suspected that my sex (male) is better. Here's why: when man was still living in caves women had to stay in the caves and look after the family (kids) and we all know kids are hard to deal with, while men were hunting, and how simple is that: you kill - your family lives, you don't kill - you don't live. And that system was working good until the 19 century, when a bunch of women claimed they had no rights and all sorts of feminist movements started blah, blah blah. Other advantage is that men are naturally stronger than women - both physically and mentally (and that's a FACT) and are more fit to do the dirty work - for example I just love to chop wood. If I were a girl my dad would probably say "that's a man's job" and have all the fun.
Oh, yeah - girls aren't allowed to sweat, burp, fart - it's like those are bad things :D
The only advantage of being a girl, by my seeing, is that boys aren't allowed to hit you, while you can do almost every thing with them (unless the guy's a bastard - then you have to watch yourself). "

"I hardly believe that global warming will end the world. It may put an end to the dominance of the humans on the planet and maybe the effects of it may wipe out 70 or more per cent of life on the Earth, but that will happen in 2 or 3 generations' time from now but only if we don't stop poluting our planet. And precautions are already taken to stop that - precautions like the eco fuels which will eventually replace fossil fuels and thus reducing the air polution, but the existing CO2 in the atmosphere, which is THE reason for global warming will not go away on it's own. It is a fact that in the last 200 years (since fossil fuels were invented) the average temperature on Earth has grown with 5 degrees centigrade, but it is also a fact that the reserves of fossil fuels on Earth will run out in the next 25 or even less years. Thats where eco fuels come in. They will completely replace fossil fuels in the near decade or so. But there is a problem with them too - eco fuels are made mainly of corn and beetroot and some wheat cultures thus making humans (represented by food) and machines (represented by machines) compete. I hope I don't live long enough to know."

"I think that time travel is possible, but useless.
Why? Well, let's imagine this: my dad's a scientist and he discovers a particle, that manipulates time, so he builds a time machine. His dad was a gestapo chief and he wants the nazis to win WW2 so he sends plans for nuclear weapons to Hitler and Germany crushes the USSR and USA in 1943, but in our time nothing changes. How come? Well my idea is that you can't travel back in time in your own dimension, and basically that every time you go back you end up in a different dimension, but you can go back to your own future (dimension) every time, because you belong there. That's my theory about time travel in the past. I haven't thought about future time travel, because I wouldn't want to go there. Still I think that it's possible to change the future of your dimension, but not the present and the past."

" Traumatic Experience "

"Since i've been little i've been playing with knives and axes, so i've had quite a few traumatic experiences. Once i tried to cut a log, but i was holding it with one hand and with the other i held the axe. When i tried to split it in two i missed and hit mi finger (the nail) missed for a couple of milimiters, otherwise i would've cut my finger.
Another time with an axei was splitting log again, but this time i was playing a little too courageous with the axe and cut my finger like with a knive, only deeper and much longer cut. I had 8 stiches.
But maube the most traumatic experience was when i tried to jump with my bike from some stairs - about 1,5 meters high. I got hospitalized and lied on a bed for a whole week. My mother freaked out when they colled her, but i was actually ok - just one big cut from a rock and that was all."

Death Note has blown me away - and that was a first. Never before have i been so fascinated by an anime or a movie or whatever. I think it's because i have always thought what would it feel to have the ability to take someone's life just by looking at him/her. Well, i'm not as smart as Yagami, nor am i the son of the chief of police, but also there is no L, and in my country no one will bother saving criminals. "My every dream is weird, but the weirdest one was about two years ago:
I was walking on the street with a friend of mine when a spaceship landed on the traffic lane. A door opened up and a human walked out. It looked around very carefully, then looked at me and said: "You are the one". I went in the ship and the guy gave me an armor suit - when i got in it looked like a robot. And before i know it two robots were attacking me. We fought for some time and wrecked the entire city. Finally i managed to rip the head off of one of the robots only to find it was my cousin, and then the other robot turned out to be another friend of mine.
At that point i woke up and was really pissed, because i wasn't in the armor suit...
My worst nightmare was when i was a kid - after wathing a scary movie on the TV late at night i dreamt i was attacked by mummies "
