"I'm from a state that has little anime - and little understanding of anime. But everyone around here knows what Hentai is. And for some reason, they're aware of the taboo Hentai. We're very conservative here.

So yes, it's always awkward when I talk about anime to people around here. They always assume it's something dirty (and really, what's so dirty about human sexuality? It's natural.).

So I feel your confusion. I just try to go with the other people and say yes - I am a pervert."

"Wow... that was funny and I would have laughed except... it is sort of scary. I think at that age obsessing is a natural thing: I've helped raise my sister and she's obsessed over various things.

Is is that different to obsess over a band member than an anime character? You have about the same likeliness of catching your band member as you do an anime character. ^^

"I'm totally lost - but I submitted a scan yesterday that was 1200x835 (yes I know that's a little small)... and got an pm saying the use able portion of the image was under 1175... but... the entire image is use able - there's no random blank space at all.

Am I just... wrong?"

"I suppose so - but in my day to day life it just seems so much like people don't question... at all. I (used to) work in a call center office type environment and it just seemed like all the girls looked to other girls for how to think, act, look, etc. and the same for men (although I'm not a man and therefore my interactions didn't cause the same effect). It seems that thinking things like how and why get so lost in adult life.

Although - I just might be the only adult type person wearing a big old question mark on my head.

And Omnidevil - I am so a fan. You sound incredibly interesting! "

"I like the effect that "noise" has on things - unfortunately, I've also found that it's really hard on my eyes. I have this annoying thing with clarity in an image - if I'm staring at it and it's not crystal clear it drives me nuts.

I don't think it makes the image look low quality - just messed with. ^_^

Try working with another filter - or maybe just on part of the image - maybe that will get you something close to the result you would like, while giving it some dynamic-ness (uhh... that's not really a word, is it? o.O)"

I think in some instances you should be willing to stand up to your beliefs even in death - take the afore mentioned "fairies" omnidevil was talking about:

if it involved ridicule to believe in fairies and isolation - and so you denied to others that you in fact believed in them - then it's not really a fully believed faith.

But in some instances - and I'm not sure if this is something I'll always believe - I think that it would be better to deny one belief for another.

Take me for instance - I'm a single mom of two. My children are my everything - they get me through my busy life. I find that I would do anything to stay with them - to raise them to adulthood. If it meant denying a few beliefs to keep myself alive, then so be it.

Faith is not a marketable item, it should have never been, it is sad that nowadays as will any other age, that people must make a business out of it.

But you would think - does the swing of things end up like that because people genuinely want to help their fellow man "save their soul" or because they honestly can't stand being the only one who believes a certain thing?

I've always thought that faith should be decided by each and every person - if someone tells you "Hey, believe THIS!" - and you don't take it upon yourself to research and truly integrate the philosophy into yourself, it's only going half way. But I also find it interesting that some people seem to NEED faith - need congregation with others of similar beliefs - to go on with their lives. Why? Do they lack friends or co-workers similar to them - to make them feel valued and loved? Or do they lack relationships that are deeper than superficial?

I mean, how much do you really know about the other people worshipping your beliefs?"

"I'm not so sure I believe in ghosts anymore, but I do believe something is left behind. I'm a really insane sort of individual where I can touch an object or go to a place and feel things that had been in contact with it - and when I was little I was really drawn to places where people had died and I could always feel something.

You can call me insane if you want - and most likely my antidepressants already say that I am. ^_^ But I do believe there is much more than the physical."

"I actually lied to my parents alot - and yes I did feel guilty for it. My mom is the kind of person who just can't show affection for others and she was very neglectful of me as a kid - and for a very long time, I resented it. So I would indulge my interests in the more darker side of humanity... at the tender age of 12.

Now, as an adult, I understand that my Mom has mental issues and it's pointless to be angry with her - and I do regret lying to her so much. In fact, now we have a good relationship.

But anyway, sitting in her self-centered bubble... Mom always believed me. Even when I'd come home completely smashed. o.O
