FAQ

Wallpapers are generally saved as JPEG formats, as it is the most compatible image format. It also allows for reasonably sized images with reasonable image quality. You will find all walls on AP are in JPEG format as that is the only allowable format here for wallpapers.

the outlines on the cake can still be fine-tuned. as for the shadows that you've added: do you use a gray layer with low opacity? because the shading on the cake looks quite grayish, especially in contrast with the shadows cast by the strawberries, which are in a warm, saturated shade of darkish pink. the difference in saturation in the two types of shading stands out quite a bit. generally when adding shadow layers, you would either 1) use opaque layers that are sufficiently darker than the non-shaded color and also saturated enough; or 2) use low opacity black layers on a photoshop/illustrator blend mode known as "multiply". i don't know how inkscape works so i don't know if the second strategy is usable for your software. :x

i don't meant to lecture you in anyway (especially since you've dealt well with my thorough pickiness, good for you! :]) but don't let revisions discourage you from wanting to be a waller at AP. aim high (but realistically so) in order to achieve more. you can probably get that wall accepted, but making the minimum threshold doesn't equate to making a great piece of art. kinda cheesy but: hardships + hard work help us learn and improve. xD i'm not familiar with inkscape, but if you can't get rid of the jagged lines, then i suppose there isn't much you can do. :x the duplicate-blur technique works for most people though, i can't say what went wrong. the blue sprinkles glare a bit against the yellow muffin top, don't you think? ^^; so it'd be nice to change the blue so that it's easier on the eyes. otherwise, the cupcakes look far better now, so good job with changing the perspective! :D this font is also nicer than the previous. there are still some stuff you could consider fixing or touching up, but i'm putting it all in the readmore tag so that if you are really fed up, then you can ignore it.

the shadows that the strawberries cast onto the pink icing should be around the bases of the strawberries only, not extending up to almost the tips of the strawberry. i know i only pointed out adding shading to the strawberries, but the same can be done to the icing, the cake, and the cupcakes too. the outlines for the pastries are a lot better now, but if one were to be perfectionist about it, they'd still need more tweaking/smoothing out... i don't think the outlines for the cake changed. xD;

you're almost there. it's good to see someone dedicated enough to revise so quickly. xP sorry if you feel like i'm too hard on you or something. x__x

it's one step closer. =] for jaggedness, what some of us do from time to time is duplicate the outline layer, place it behind the original outline, and give it a slight blur (keyword: slight). then turn down the opacity of the un-blurred outline layer a bit. it should at the very least soften the jaggedness. for the new outlines on the pastries: it's good that you are varying the lineweight but the variation is a bit overdone. >__< when you have extremely thin and thick parts, it seems like you lack some control over your anchor points. so compromise both extremes a bit and you'll be just fine. :D regarding the shadows you've added: i meant shadow on the food products themselves, not just the shadow that one part casts onto the other. so for example, part of each strawberry should be shaded, not just a fringe of shadow on the pink icing around its base. as for the big shadow below the pastries, i'd say remove it. it doesn't look that good where it overlaps the border/frame thing (and because it's gray, rather than darker shades of the bg color). it might be nice to not have such a large range of sprinkle colors -- because your colors are more saturated now, the sprinkles steal some attention from your vector, which should have center stage. xP and i see that the perspectives thing has not been addressed -- what i meant was that it's not physically possible to see the top and bottom of a regular cupcake...it's like seeing the top and bottom of a regular opaque cylinder. xD; the new font is better, but it is still too script-y. it's the type of stuff you'd put on formal invitations and such. you might want to check out websites with free fonts for download, such as www.dafont.com too see if there is anything you like. good work with the improvements.

Wow thats a really cute Haru wallpaper, I think its one of the BEST Hitman Reborn Wallpapers I have seen so far. I hope that it gets accepted so I can get a version of it without the writing over Haru. I can understand why you decided to watermark it, I have seen a few cases where people take vectors (perhaps not all elements, but in your wall someone may take Haru from it) and then use it in their own creations without giving you credit. Great job!

it's unlikely that anybody is out to "steal" parts of wallpapers in progress that are posted up in session zero. over the years, such a thing as SZ-wip-vector-theft is pretty much unheard of. lol xD; i'm not saying it's bad to want to be safe. it's just that having something like that is...distracting and not that convenient for those who are commenting when looking at the wall as a whole. but if you really feel the need for that then oh well. anyway, that's not the issue here. your vector is nicely done. =] just a note that there is this particular outline shape on her skirt that is quite thick in comparison to your average outline width. please thin that out for consistency's sake. i also noticed that below her chin (on her neck), the shading is done in black. i'd change that to a shade of her skin color, even if it was this way in the original image which you vectored. :P and i dunno but isn't it a bit odd that she has nail outlines on her left hand but not her right? .__. oh and something overall to be careful about: jaggedness. with vectoring, you sometimes get annoying jagged lines (where you see the "pixel staircase"). try your best to get rid of those. <-- you can see quite obvious examples in the cupcakes. (which reminds me: the outlines on the muffin tops seem to be of uniform line-weight. again with consistency, could you vary the width and make it so that they aren't that thick?) and well, attention to detail really makes a wall come together that much better. so it'd be great if you could try and fix the perspectives on your pastries...especially the cupcakes. (and maybe the colorful (candy?) topping on the cupcakes should be of less geometric shapes and of colors more often found in edible goods.) the seeds on the strawberries should also be rotated so that they are in alignment with the strawberries themselves. i'd also recommend adding some shading, just so it ups the level of detail and effort and the pastries aren't so flat. for the text, it's best to remove the drop shadow. (a piece of advice that gets handed out quite a bit ( ...or used to in SZ's golden age) is that don't use default effects on text unless absolutely necessary.) the drop shadow doesn't serve too much of a purpose here. and you might want to look for a cuter font to better convey the rather "cute" theme of the wall. ;] a general note about your colors: they seem a bit on the side of being washed out. in essence, you can afford to saturate them some more and to adjust some so that they are richer and brighter. take the brown of the cupcake, for example, i don't get a feel of delicious chocolate (or something like that) from it. livening the colors should bring more, well, life to your wall! :D don't mind the length of this post. >__< and despite my rambling, you are off to quite a good start. keep going and improve on this!

I made the vector myself, which is why my sig is scrolled across Haru, this will be removed when the wallpaper has been accepted.

First, I will say that I don't understand why people like soaps. I watch some and then feel cheated and bored over their cheesy romantic and tragic plots. Second, I will say that I am a male. Not saying that males don't watch soaps or enjoy them. But seemingly mostly females are enjoy soaps more than males.
My question. What is so great about soaps? What makes them so much more interesting than other action or mystery themed things? Why the heck are there so many of them?
