What series got you into anime?

"The very very very first anime that i watched was probably Sailor Moon...Mahoujin Guru Guru...Doraemon and such..but taht was so long ago...and that was more of a childish addiction of "sunday morning cartoons" but instead of sunday...its everyday afternoon. So i think...
The first anime that i watched was Inu Yasha and (at the same time) Hikaru no Go. of course, even though Inu Yasha does get kind of old...every episode is almost the same..slay demons and search for the shards...it still has a special place in my heart =D yes. So does Hikaru no Go...it was so good and inspiring (i was in middle school -.-) =D

Either way, it doesn't matter which anime that gets you addicted because anime is awesome!! =D"

But you can never touch, hold hands, embrace an anime girl.

Let's put it this way.
Dreaming about a billions dollars to spend is great.
But you don't look down on the hundred thousand you have in front of you that you can actually use.

How much money do you spend on anime?

"I don't know where you guys come up with all the money.
Being a student, I live off of the very nice and considerate fansubbers.
They are my lifesaver.
I have bought the whole Slayers series though, since I do want to support that creators.
For the most part, it seems the fansub does a better job than the dvd subs.
I really hate dubs.
so on that note, mostly I spend zero on anime.

"Honestly I don't think US can do better.
Anime is better than american cartoon for a reason.
It was meant for Asians, made by Asians.
I am not trying to be racist.
I mean there is a certain sense of humor behind anime that makes if different.
There are perverted cartoon on adult swim, cartoon network.
But it just isn't that same at ecchi of anime.
Besides having different plots, and style, the animation is much different as well.
The japanese characters are just so cute.
American characters go for uniqueness.

It does have yaoi, but it's way toned down.
For the most part, it's really funny
THe main character is disgusted with yaoi, so that's even better.
There is actually a plot as well.

He is a "hollow" (big ghost) sword fighter.
He basically just wants to protect the people he cares about, but later notices the importance of caring for others as well.
Recently, it's just fillers, so he's not fighting hollows.
Instead is he fighting Bountos

what do you perfer, watching anime on tv or on computer?

"I dont' really quite understand the question.
TV is technically just a monitor.
In fact, many times I just attach a DVI to the TV from my computer.
It's better sometimes to watch it on the big screen.
But for all practical purposes, I like watching it on my computer because of the comfort of my own room.
It's more of an environment thing.
I also have better compter speakers than the TV speakers.

But if you are talking about the anime shows being show on TV, that's a different story.
I like the subtitles much better with the original voice actors/actresses.
The dubs are for the most part really bad.
There are good ones though, like dragonball and slayers.
So subs are better the dubs, so computer it is!"

"My parents don't watch anime, because they think it's quite childish. But at times when I watch it in the living room, my parents would watch a bit of it. Then they will leave. I think it's because they weren't exposed to it much as a child. They are more into manga and novels."

"Kaliedo star has been out for a while now, but I also think it's a great series. It easily captures my attention with the acrobatic displays, as well as the light-hearted humor involved. Not only that, it has touching moments that bring me to not tears, but watery eyes. I think it's an anime that can target both children and the inner children of adults. It great focuses on teamwork and not being selfish. I think probably the best couple would be ken and sora. Ken has always liked sora since the first episode and has done so much for her. Sora is kinda thick headed, and ken can put up with that as well. Plus, he has already met the parents. "

"Animes are truly a waste of time. But on the other hand, it's a form of entertainment. It's good for children to be watching anime rather than becoming bad kids. I believe that anime, at least the funny ones, are great of the health. Laughter is the best medicine. Anime is also good for inspirating kids to be brave, like Naruto. Let's just not take violence into real life. Overall, if you have time anime is great. If you don't, then deal with real life first."

"I heard of that too, but I haven't confirmed it with reliable sources. If it is true, I am really looking forward to it. The first season was great, but it was disappointing when it ended. It could go on more. I hope it's a second season and not just OVAs."

Games from your childhood

"The old games to me are still the most fun. It's simple enough that anyone can be able to learn and play. On the other hand, it is also entriguing enough to sustain interest. I think the concept of racking up points to see who is better has always been the best concept. A few games that examplify this are galaxza, pacman, tetris. Tetris probably would be my personal favorite because of the competition involved. Platform games from the pass are also fun. Mario, the game that can be easily beaten by warping. For some reason, I can never beat the game without continues or warping. Maybe it's just me. But games nowadays seem to be too graphic based and forget the true meaning of video games. That's why I am really excited to see Nintendo bringing back that easy to learn system Wii. It's based on the concept that anyone who wants to play games can without having to adapt to the numerous buttons, combinations, and complex play. Hard games include like CS or Halo on X-Box. It really uses all the buttons in sync. "

"I would dress up as my favorite anime character only if I think I sort of look similar to the character. I mean if i did and I look nothing like it, I would be really stupid. It also depends if I had the skill or know someone with the skill to design and make the costume to look good. I don't want to wear something that just looks cheap. Hopefully I would like it too, to bring the character alive.

In short, if I had the right conditions, it would be a great experience.

"I think it doesn't matter how fast or long you watch a series. When you finish a series and it leaves you wanting more, than it's a good anime. Good anime are good throughout and hopes to get more viewers. Hopefully it drives people to buy the anime, and in turn give the creator's a chance to make a sequel. If the ratings are high, they'll always do something to please the audience. Love Hina is a perfect example. Slayers is too. Movies just kept coming out. "

AMD comeback?

"It has always been a battle between AMD and Intel. It especially more so now that APPLE has also decided to start using Intel CPU. Only recently has Intel been able to take the lead again on performance. But is performance really everything? I mean a computer that I have from five years ago still work perfectly great and fine. I only started to upgrade because of the cheap prices and felt that 5 years is a good time to get a new one. Intel for the longest time always concentrated on the speed of the chip, while AMD has been more focused on power usage and chip structure. Now with Intel new duo line, it has taken over on performance and lower power consumption. It has taken them a while, but they are trying to come back. AMD has announced their plans to merge with graphic chip company ATI. I feel that this is the way to go for the future, since current chip speeds are saturated. Only thing left is more cpus on single chips. Do you think AMD is heading in the right direction, and will it be enough to make a comeback?"

What Anime Left you wanting more

"The anime that left me wanting more is Twelve Kingdoms (Juuni Kokki). It's an anime that is unlike other animes, because it is based on a novel. It has great character developement and story plot. The anime was intended to go on longer, but it was cut short. I can't believe they just ended it with one of the characters arch. It was also said that continuing the anime would mean basically starting a new anime. This is because it would be a whole new story about another kingdom and new characters need to be developed. This anime not only left me wanting more, but I also look forward to the english translations of the novel itself. Hopefully it comes to the American market. This is a big deal, because the anime has made with WANT to read. I never liked to read, and still don't. So good job Twelve Kingdoms!"
