"I finished out high school here in america, but i remember wearing a white zombie concert t-shirt with the words "satan loves you" in large green letters on the back, in a predominately christian (catholic) atmosphere. it was great seeing their reaction, many thought i was a satanist, but those who dared to talk to me about it, soon learned i wore it on purpose to test their so-called "faith". i said to people, god doesn't hate satan, the morningstar(satan) was god's favored angel in the begining, god loved him like he does all his creations. even when satan betrayed god, god did not destroy satan (like he did with nephalim), only cast him down.

not to mention, christians believe jesus is god and i don't remember any of his teachings telling us to hate anyone. my statement made by wearing that shirt was test of the moral convictions of their faith and testament to the hippocracy of their faith.

How many friends do you have are your true friends?

"Miroku-sama, the circumstances which you describe in your post are some of the most minor issues a friendship can go through. having to listen to your friend rant and rave should be a pleasure, some of the heavy things a relationship can go through are more like; voilence, theft, drug use, suicide threats, betrayal etc.. etc.. not that i neccesarily did any these, what i did exactly is none of anyone's business but these are real issues and WILL put a major strain on any relationship. you'll find, many people will get more and more distant as the stress on them caused by another friend builds over time. people are naturally, i don't wanna say selfish, but they protect themselves above all(in most cases). you and i can talk a big game, like we will do anything for our friends no matter what the situation, but only when the shit hits the fan will we know the truth, will we know our breaking point.

oh and i'm sorry for your loss, however i would never use drugs (prozac) to get over it, your brain as a organ actually learns from situations (i dont mean you learn, i mean it learns) and damage. you can teach it one of two things; you can teach it to cope with things using its own power or teach it to become dependant on outside support(drugs, booze, that sorta of thing). me, ill take independence over dependence anyday.

oh and i take nothing for granted, which is in sharp contrast to almost everyone i see around me."

"In my opinion a true friend is one that will always stand by your side through the good and bad (unconditionally love so to speak), much like marriage just with none of the romantic involvement. however, i have learned thoughout my life that hardly anyone can meet those standards, friends crack under unspecified (a value that varies between all people and where in their life they are) pressures and will leave you high and dry, wallowing in your own problems, without a prayer of support. it is best not to be too dependant on anyone because no relationship is unconditional.

i find that most people lack the ability to empathize or sympathize with other people, sometimes even when they themselves have been through something similiar and it can easily cause huge rifts in a friendship or any relationship for that matter. such as when my father died, i fell into a huge bout of depression and did some crazy things, unfortunately hurting some people i cared about in the process. not one of those people could understand what i was going through and therefore attacked and punished me for my actions, not even my supposed best-friend at the time. i used to live in that fantasy world, believing that my friends cared about me to the point they would stand by me no matter what, but thats bullshit. i don't even trust my wife would stand by me no matter what. however, life is about risk, sometimes we lose and sometimes we win (mostly lose) and i would rather have friends then no friends or have love then no love. i will always keep a close eye on them and my heart."

"The moral objection to this sort of thing and many others is the fault of religion and a minority of society. think about the great moral objection there exists in america towards nudity, when in truth there is absolutely nothing to be ashamed or feel bad about. adam and eve were born naked and when they did cover themselves basically god asked what the hell they were doing (if you believe in the bible). i have even heard people go so far as to say that wearing a two-piece bikini at the beach as being degrading to women, when in truth it is not degrading at all, and neither is nudity. nudity is natural and so is the natural impulses to be attracted to men or women with a nice body. it is natural to want to have sex and it is natural to masturbate.

most of the objection towards nudity comes from the fact that not everyone's body is cut from the same mold, and those who don't meet the standard of beauty for a particular society face rejection. their feelings get hurt and then they become bias and resentful of that standard and the people who use that standard in their hunt for sex or a mate/partner.

dekciw, you realize that most kids learn about masturbation in health and sexual education classes fairly early these days. so it is nothing that they don't know about.

"Not that it is entirely impossible unless they grew up together, i don't really see women having true male friendships. when i took pyschology classes in college, my class and our professor had this very discussion because one woman disagreed with a statement in the textbook. the statement was as follows "men want to communicate with other men and women need to communicate with other women" and the basis of the debate was whether or not women needed to communicate with a male friend and if not what that meant the basis of that friendship was built upon. during the course of the debate the woman who orginally disagreed with the statement came to realize she had feelings for this man she was friends with. many of the other women in the class later on found the same to be true about some of their male friends, however they were not interested enough to be romantically involved with the man, but were emotionally attracted to that person.

again i say you are her back-up interest, a supporter emotionally.
