Another Wallpaper....Need Opinions

"I'm just going to point some things which (I think that) are wrong (sorry for the lack of suggestions):
- there is too much white and it gives the impression of unused space in the wall
- the blue on the left doesn't fit the wallpaper because it's a simple color and your wall is not one with straight simple colors, it does have some buildings on the right

Ok, maybe a vague suggestion: try to get rid of the background on the right and also of the blur behind the character from the left and rethink your wall so that it will contain stuff like that blue thinghie from the left (you know, random shapes done with the laso tool holding shift).

"My thoughts:
- Get rid of this blood and use another brush. It is to messy and I think this brush it's not actually a blood brush, it's just a splatter brush...blood doesn't look like this. I found a nice brush on deviantart called somethind like shadows brush.... If you find it it will be better to use it. If you do want to keep you actuall blood then you have to lose the drop shadow (it makes it look like it's some how floating) and also edit the blood manually (by brushing) to give it depth, the bevel is not enough. I do advise you to look up another blood brush.

- Desaturate everything except the red and go for a black withe red wall. Also enhance the contrast on the photos with a levels adjustment. I think it will give the wall a nice look.

I don't know what you mean by "artist's category".

My suggestion: develop a system of evaluating a fanart and by it allow submissions containing fanart. Also make a new rule that requires a waller to speciffy wheather his/her wall contains fanart and not original pics.

My reason for posting this is this FF 7 wallpaper which contains fanart and the fact that my Spehiroth wallpaper with my fanart was rejected.

"I think the background is bad...you have that vectory stuff in the right lower corner which is nice. I suggest you keep that ideea and put some of that stuff around Chidori. Make the bacground a solid color or a nice gradient and use lighter colors. Then fill it with other shapes and give it a nice vectory feel. A tip: put some vertical text on the right side (I mean write it horizontally and the rotate it 90 degtrees so that it will be vertical), maybe it will look nice...and use a thick font.

- lose the fruits basket text or, if you really want to keep it, use the same font as the other text and keep the colors related
- defenitely vector the character and make it bigger, keep it in the same location of the wall and make the "are you lost" text smaller and, again, mentain its positiong but also making sure it does not (or is not) overlap the character.
- more work on the background.

Your main problem is the red, there's just much of it and it really hurts the eyes. The scan is blurry, it shouldn't be. The background is not very good (too muck writing in it, I know you wanted to go for that kind of wall but the font should be the same everywhere). I suggest you rethink the background...and maybe lose the wings (or at least the blur around them).

My suggestion: vector the scan (it's of bad quality and vectoring it souldn't be too difficult) and do a vectored background (put some mixed shapes in it, like stars and circles). The background should be lighter and you should defenitely lose the faded faces.

The text needs more effects and defenitely a different color (dark pink maybe, like in the middle of the background). My suggestion: redo the entire background, keep those nice pink colors but don't use that leaf brush, use a butterfly or a flower one, give up those starry x-s and also the traces done by the brushes (like swirls). Instead do some clouds (as I assume you previously have done) and then redo that pixelated feel. Make sure you added the text before and also put some cloud effcts in it, then do the pixelated effect so that the text will have it too....who knows, maybe it will tur out nice ^^

Please clean up you extraction, it's not good (look at the hair and arms).

I have no ideea where the girl is from.

@TsuruR: you are right about that hand, now that I looked better it does look a bit weird, I thought that under its sleeve the hand's pose would be normal, but it's not. I often have flaws in anatomy >.<

@AnimeLover93: I didn't wanted to draw your basic Inuyasha, I drew it my style...more mature, different eyes and a bit different hair style. I just took the overall character design in mind and made my version of it. I was not going after a obvious similarity with the original Inuyasha.

I'm glad you like the coloring...I hope I do improove...the mouse is kind of a drag.

"@θblu3angl: hmmm...you say you can't read the text, it looks legible to me...The reason for which I put text in this wall is that if there wasn't any there would be a dark area on the right bottom which would need something in it. As for the background I actually think it fits the character, what I had in mind was the ideea of the scene in which Sheph say those words and the skies clear (that's why I decided to put those light rays).

I see that you are using the burn and dodge tools (actually I assume), but for anime drawings you should put some shadows the old school way (select the portion and fill it with the shadow color) and then add some blur for a smoother effect. All in all you need to work on your shadowing more. Good luck^^"
